Title: Changes to the Poker 425 blonde Forum
Post by: tikay on October 17, 2005, 04:06:02 PM
After much fiffing & faffing & dithering, mainly on my part, we have at last decided to change the set up of the boards on the blonde Forum. We have agreed we  HAVE to do something - the explosion in site traffic & posts has made it too unwieldy to continue as we are.

So we have come up with our first attempt, & the Forum will change to it's new layout almost immediately.

Some of you will like it, many of you wont. Don't worry. Nothing is cast in stone. We can, & probably will, change it again in a few weeks, as the need arises. And we'd like your continued feedback, to help us decide how to improve the look & feel of the place. I would just urge you all to give the new layout a chance before commenting in haste. Like a new hair-do, these things take a bit of getting used to. Sometimes, they grow on you, other times they don't. Remember, we can and will change it again, as & when it's needed.

Don't worry if you are confused as to what section your Post should go in. It will soon all become clear, & in the interim, we will move posts around into what we think is the right board.

Enjoy.

is there a way to make it easier to navigate?
a button in each page to each section maybe?
as it is you have to go into a section>look at the new post>then return to the index and start again
i think maybe just 1 extra section at first to see how it works, just a first impression, don't get defensive on me ;D

IFM,

Under the print button at the bottom right of the post, there is a pull down menu that will allow you to navigate to all the different boards :)

Is that the kind of thing you meant?

please note the missing Ad is fixed and all the smileys codes altered so that you wont find them popping up where they are not meant this means that hand historys are all text but can be edited by author is they want to add the cards

oops thanks Heid :-[
did you add that or was it always there?
Ironside, if you'd simply changed the "triggers" to capitals it would have appeared in HH's and not in posts ;D
Though i never liked them anyway

If you think your thread has disappeared, pls make sure you check the other boards first to see it has been moved.

This should be an infrequent occurance.

Hope every1 is happy with the changes.  :)up

I really like the changes to the poker news section, its a good breakdown. (and o'course i also love the new smilies!) However, to me, the big problem was the general discussion forum which is drowning in posts, only a few of which will have a new home in the internet poker updates board. I don't think the new changes will have much effect in that area.

I still think we desperately need a "poker discussion" category in the general section (to seperate hand threads from snoopy's top 10 songs threads).

And after that, I think it would be perfect. ;)

all best, Jammer.

But the General Discussion link from that pulldown isn't working.

 :redcard:

Nope - found what it was - I'm getting Script Error whan I try to use the dropdown to return to the General Discussion list of threads.

Funny enough it's OK from this thread... I'll find a couple it's failing from.

Ginger's Smillie
Standard of Education
Furture BlondePoker Events

All giving Script Error....
