Title: Radio Codes Post by: Jedwick on August 08, 2007, 05:28:04 PM hey hey,
my car wouldnt start this morning, I was stuck outside an access point and it turned out the battery was dead, lucky for me I was on a hill so I just pushed myself off and got it started again, got home and it seems to be starting fine now, but now the radio is asking for a code which i dont have, i asked the previous owner and they didnt have a clue, i cant drive without music!! its a Fiat Punto with a bog standard cassette player. I know Blonde is the fountain of all knowledge and was wondering if anyone had any idea's of how i could bodge it to work again! They will have the code on computer.(Some dealers charge you for this service) Title: Re: Radio Codes Post by: kinboshi on August 08, 2007, 05:34:19 PM About to post the same. Also, you can search on google for 'fiat punto radio code' - some fella's charging £9 for a code.
Title: Re: Radio Codes Post by: KingPoker on August 08, 2007, 05:39:27 PM yep ring the dealer but on my old escort in the audio manual it had the code on a sticker at the front or the back, i cant remember which but worth a check before you pick up phone.
Title: Re: Radio Codes Post by: kinboshi on August 08, 2007, 05:40:17 PM The other thing to do is buy a new stereo that plays CDs (and MP3s) for about £30.
Title: Re: Radio Codes Post by: Jedwick on August 08, 2007, 05:52:50 PM so if i buy a new radio it wont need this code?
Title: Re: Radio Codes Post by: RED-DOG on August 08, 2007, 05:54:22 PM Nope.
Title: Re: Radio Codes Post by: Jedwick on August 08, 2007, 05:59:04 PM i think a new one may be on the horizon!
Title: Re: Radio Codes Post by: ifm on August 08, 2007, 06:09:08 PM If you ring the dealer that sold the car it should be on record, they will either charge less or not at all.
Title: Re: Radio Codes Post by: fearisthekey on August 08, 2007, 07:20:46 PM buy one on ebay with a cd changer for circa £20.
I have one, comes with slight screwdriver damage, however. Title: Re: Radio Codes Post by: lazaroonie on August 08, 2007, 09:58:00 PM sometimes these codes are known to be written somewhere "on" the car, eg underside of the bonnet is a good place to find it.
