Title: Chillax
Post by: GlasgowBandit on August 08, 2007, 06:27:34 PM
Chillax - to be chilled and relaxed at the same time.  I think I'll just chillax tonight.

This is a wonderful new word, I only heard it for the first time other day, I can't claim credit for it but I like it.  I want to see it in the dictionary.

Any other words your friends have made up that you think could be used every day and put in a dictionary?

Brinner, A meal that Northern people have that falls between conventional breakfast and dinner times. Posh people call it brunch.

Must we choose?

Yes, oooop North we eat dinner early in the afternoon, the south eat dinner in the evenings and lunch in the afternoons, after breakfast in the morning(obviously) so brunch is a colloquialism that has no meaning in the North, hence the need for brinner. :)

Jen and I used to regularly drive into town to eat quinch at the all-night Chinese restaurant on Wardour St. It is the fifth meal of the day, typically consumed at around 4am - breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner, supper, quinch.

Wasn't there a bomb in Wardour Street once?

A perfect example of the need for brinner, surely you mean breakfast, dinner ,tea, supper? ;)

No no, quinch is specifically to be eaten some time between eating supper and passing out around dawn.

Bints! How appropriate.
What are women for, if not to provide men with tasty snacks at crucial points of their busy days.

Yes, sort of, except prior intoxication is optional, and it must be cooked for you by someone who is really angry that they are still at work at 4am.

Surely it's called a curry?

Any high-salt, high-fat dish is acceptable.

you usually use the word "chillax" when you tell someone to "chillax"

e.g

Yo dude you are tilting just chillax...

But chill and relax mean the same thing in this context, why create a word that means the same as the words it is made up of?.
Brinner makes sense though .
