Title: Re: Dawkins on TV Post by: fearisthekey on August 09, 2007, 07:55:45 PM What would you reckon the probability of Richard Dawkins becoming the next pope? I'm guessing about 10,000,000:1.
Worth a flutter then.... Title: Re: Dawkins on TV Post by: boldie on August 09, 2007, 08:35:19 PM What would you reckon the probability of Richard Dawkins becoming the next pope? I've looked into some of the facts presented and it seems plausible enough. http://zeitgeistmovie.com/ Title: Re: Dawkins on TV Post by: kinboshi on August 13, 2007, 03:20:16 PM I am reading his book now. which chanel? Loved the dowsers. The guy who gets told by god where the water is said that when he got it wrong during a proper double blind trial it was 'god was having a joke'. ::)...what chance does anyone have against that lol

Title: Re: Dawkins on TV Post by: Sark79 on August 13, 2007, 09:35:40 PM I loved the look on Dawkins face when he was sitting watching the medium . I personally don't believe in any form of belief system or religion almost as much as the belivers believe ( if that makes any sense :D ). If you really want to read something and have a laugh, read the book 'The Secret' . Check out Wikipedia for the Secret.
I am still amazed that in the year 2007 we still believe in anything we can't actually see. Obviously each Country have their individual beliefs and many developing nations are ruled by these beliefs ( or religions ), but it is hard for a non believer to understand the thought processes of someone who has 100% faith. If science ever develops a technique to read a person mind, I would love to step inside a persons mind who has complete faith and see their thoughts. C4 make their programs available online for 2 weeks i think after they have aired, 4OD i think it's called, you download a small program. Title: Re: Dawkins on TV Post by: boldie on August 13, 2007, 11:04:17 PM wasn't too keen on the show..it didn't seem to have any real flow to it but more of a "look how stupid these guys are". I agree with him but this could have been done better me thinks.

Probably to do with the subject matter, and the fact he's talking to fruit cakes. Hmm Sark, you would find that most those people's thoughts are more preocuppied with fear of not believeign and therefore going to hell, rather then thinking of their belief per se.... Title: Re: Dawkins on TV Post by: Sark79 on August 14, 2007, 04:04:22 PM True, I am probably going to Hell then. I am more worried about the heat down there than anything, I hate it when it is too hot. Hopefully I can get an indoor job that has air conditioning if I end up down there. Robert Johnson is good so at least I will be able to chat with him and learn the guitar properly :)
