Title: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on August 12, 2007, 02:35:55 PM 12 players are left with the blinds starting at 7k/14k/1k
Adam Stoneham -- 498,500 Alan Vinson -- 444,500 Ben Turnstill -- 348,500 Dave Clarke -- 296,000 Nik Persaud -- 281,000 Glenn Altham -- 260,000 John Marles -- 219,500 Warren Wooldridge -- 219,000 Tony Ringe -- 188,500 Jonothon Butters -- 171,000 Ian Herbert -- 157,500 Jan Magnus Brevik -- 81,000 1st -- £97,300 2nd -- £51,800 3rd -- £34,550 4th -- £25,100 5th -- £18,850 6th -- £15,700 7th -- £12,550 8th -- £9,400 9th -- £6,300 10th -- £3,700 11th -- £3,150 12th -- £2,500 So who is going to win guys? Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on August 12, 2007, 03:09:07 PM Blinds are actually 6k/12k/1k, Jon Raab has told me the plan is to play the 6k/12k level again and then the 7k/14k level if they haven't got to the final table. When they get to the final table the blinds will then be rolled back to 6k/12k, but there will be no 7k/14k level and go straight to 8k/16k.
First hand, Brevik shoved in the small blind with Kc 2s to take it down Next hand Warren Wooldridge raises to 35k, Glenn Altham pushes all-in and gets the chips. Ian Herbert moves in from the button, Altham peels Ac 9s and passes the small blind, rookie passes the big. Rookie limps the small blind, Nik raises from the big, and Rookie gives it up. Rookie takes Jan Magnus Brevik's big blind and then next hand raises again, this time Ian Herbert moves in from the big blind. Rookie folds and Herbert shows the 6h Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on August 12, 2007, 03:10:44 PM On the other table, Jonothon Butters has doubled through Adam Stoneham, I think Butters flopped a full house with Ace Jack.
Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 12, 2007, 03:20:52 PM On the other table, Jonothon Butters has doubled through Adam Stoneham, I think Butters flopped a full house with Ace Jack. Yes yes, Adam raised to 40k preflop and Butters called. Flop - Jd Js Ad - they both check. Turn - 6c - Butters bets 40k, Adam calls. River - Th - Butters is all in for 112k. Adam's phone rings, he glances at it briefly but puts it back in his pocket. He calls, and Butters turns over Aspades Jh. Adam mucks. He probably should have answered that call, it might have been God trying to tell him something. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 12, 2007, 03:23:45 PM Exit! Exit alert!
It folded around to J Marles' small blind and he raised it up. Adam Stoneham in the big blind moved in and Marles called. J Marles - Kh Ts Adam Stoneham - Qs Qd Board - 9h Js 2h 9d 4h Thus J Marles is OUT. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on August 12, 2007, 03:53:52 PM Jan Magnus Brevik has doubled through Rookie,
With the blinds now 7k/14k/1k, Rookie raised to 44k, Brevik moved in for 51k more and Rookie called with Ac 8h, up against the scandie's Ad Qs. Board: 2h 9s 5h 2s Jh And straight after that, Glenn Altham is OUT in 11th place winning £3,150. Nik Persaud's Queens held against his Ace Ten. A queen on the river was overkill. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on August 12, 2007, 04:01:29 PM Adam Stoneham raised to 100k from the small blind, Tony Ringe calls in the big blind.
Flop: K-K-Q Adam checked, Tony Ringe moved all-in. Adam insta-called with Aces. Tony showed K-Q! No miracle two outer. I guess that's a move of honour. And Warren Wooldridge has doubled up through RookieITB, Warren pushed preflop with Sevens, Rooks calls with Ace King. A seven was the first card out sadly. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 12, 2007, 04:14:54 PM Come on Rodney! Don't be a plonker - get it won :)up No plonkerhood here, but Rookie has taken a bit of a hit courtesy of Warren Wooldridge. Warren raises, Rookie pushes, Warren calls. Warren - pocket sevens Rookie - AK Board - 7c 2c Th Kh Tc And with a slightly I thought ungentlemanly "YESSSSSS!!!", Warren is back in the running. Rookie's not exactly desperate now, but he's below average I reckon... Funnily enough, Alan decided that his Pocket Rockets were worth a call and was overjoyed to see that his opponent held a rather meek. However, that delight soon turned to chagrin (and possibly a few kicked chairs) when the board came Qs 8c Jc 2s Js. Ouch ouchy. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on August 12, 2007, 05:51:42 PM Ben (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=46) Turnstill (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=46) is OUT and becomes the 9th place finisher winning £6,300
He made his move with a pretty hand in Jd Td, but it soon turned into the Hunchback of Luton G Casino when Dave (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=92) Clarke (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=92) stumbled upon a pair of ladies who were soon overturned and jumping with joy at the harmless raggy flop. Good display from Rookie, but he's now on the rail. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on August 12, 2007, 06:31:32 PM Little action since the exit. Everyone has taken turns in taking the blinds, which have now risen to 8k and 16k with a 1k ante.
Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on August 12, 2007, 07:08:05 PM Herbie goes bananas with a 56k raise which Jan Magnus re-raises for 102k more. Not bad value you might think, but Ian thought otherwise, chucking his hand in the muck and perhaps conceding a spot of theft.
Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on August 12, 2007, 07:19:59 PM I believe we have an all-in...
Adam Stoneham = Ad Kd Jan Magnus Brevik = Qh Qd Board = 8d 8c 4h 5d 8h Magnus survives and is now 2nd in chips behind Dave (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=92) Clarke (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=92). Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on August 12, 2007, 07:27:03 PM The top three chippy counts for you courtesy of the due on the mike down there at Luton:
Dave Clarke -- 639k Warren Wooldridge -- 585k Jan Magnus Brevik -- 543k Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on August 12, 2007, 07:38:27 PM This one started with a raise from Jan Magnus of 47k which was called by Warren Wooldridge in the Big Blind. Flop = Kd 2h 8h Both players check. Turn = 2c Both players check again. River = Qd Jan bets 40k and Warren calls. Jan shows A-Q and Warren passes. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on August 12, 2007, 07:56:35 PM Adam Stoneham is OUT and becomes the 8th place finisher winning £9,400
With Alan Vinson making it 60k pre-flop, Adam decided to move all-in with Ac Kh and was quickly called by Alan and his Kd Qd. The Flop was a nasty one for the young Londonder, the first card out being the Qc. The Jh 4h 2s and 5s that followed were of no use leaving Adam about as happy as a penguin in a microwave. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on August 12, 2007, 08:47:27 PM Tony Ringe is OUT and becomes the 7th place finisher winning £12,550
The update team suddenly erupting into action as if someone had announced din dins, but alas it wasn't a meal ticket being wafted in front of their pekish faces, but the thrill of an all-in from today's final. After Ian (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=174) Herbert (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=174) had raised to 80k, Tony moved in for 184k and received a call resulting in a highly exciting on-their-backs (the cards, not them) encounter. Ian = Ad Ks Tony = Ahrt Qc Flop = 7s 4s 8s 4h Tc The frustrating lack of a lady results in our 7th departure, Tony joining Ben and Adam on that angry 150 mph drive home. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on August 12, 2007, 09:09:08 PM Dave raises to 50k, Ian calls. "Ere coom them caaaaards!" says the announcer in an accent that seems to be tickling Dana's ribs silly. Check check on the 4c Qh Ks Flop before Dave shoves out an 80k bet on the 7c Turn. Ian makes the call and the two players see a Td River. This time Dave checks and Ian bets 90k, only for Dave to dip into the think tank and make the call, taking the pot with Ahrt Qd.
It's the dinner break now, but we'll be back in one hour with more coverage of this GUKPT Luton final, so please do join us. In the meantime, here's a chicken doing a funny dance to keep you entertained, although I'm not sure it can maintain your attention for the full 60 minutes. Alan Vinson -- 637,000 Warren Wooldridge -- 622,000 Dave Clarke -- 617,000 Jan Magnus Brevik -- 608,000 Ian Herbert -- 512,000 Jonathan Butters -- 164,000 Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on August 12, 2007, 10:17:16 PM And just like that, as the feztastic Tommy Cooper would say, we have an all-in encounter, Butters pushing his shortstack across the line of doom and being looked up by Warren Wooldridge.
A-Q v A-J, no help, double up for Butters and dismay for our exhausted update team. Warren is now in last place according to our intrepid reporters. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on August 12, 2007, 10:48:16 PM With the blinds slightly more expensive, Jan has to add a little more to his raises, but still keeps it cheap enough for people to call, his last 75k bet finding a call from Warren. The Flop came Jc Th Ad and both players checked, only for Jan to call a 50k bet from Warren on the 8c Turn. The River was a 6d and Warren bet 110k but, after dropping his face in his hands and perhaps stumbling upon pseudo divine intervention, made the wrong call. Warren showed A-T to take a nice pot.
Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on August 12, 2007, 10:55:13 PM Ian Herbert raises to 120k pre-flop (a little too much perhaps?) only for Jan Magnus to push all-in for just 162k more. Ian decides to take a gamble with Q-T and is possibly mighty relieved to see he's up against K-J, but not when the first card out is a King. The Flop also brought a Jack, giving the Welshman plenty of hope, but to no avail as the rest of the board came rags. Double up for Jan. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on August 12, 2007, 11:05:39 PM Ian (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=174) Herbert (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=174) is OUT and becomes the 6th place finisher winning £15,700
Shortstacked with just 110k, Ian pushes all-in as soon as he finds a spot, but runs into a pensive Jan Magnus who leaps into the think tank. After thinking over his options for a moment, Jan makes the call. "I must be miles in front then," comments Ian. "What, you have Aces," asks Jan in his distinguished Scandinavian accent. To the shock of everyone watching, Jan proceeded to reveal Kings, to which Ian could only respond by throwing down a somewhat vulnerable 9-3s onto the table. Board = 3h Th Tc 9c Jc "Sick, can't believe 3 pair doesn't beat 2," adds Floppy. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 12, 2007, 11:12:40 PM SB Jan makes up the BB, and BB Alan raises 50k; Jan calls.
Flop Js 2h Qh Jan checks ; Alan sticks 100k in, and Jan passes. 5 minutes left at the 15k/30k/3k level. Current leaders are Warren 974k Jan 700k Dave 551k Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 12, 2007, 11:15:34 PM Warren bets 90k on an 8h Th 5d flop, leading to seemingly endless dwelling from Jan, but he eventually passes.
Next level is 20k/40k/4k. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 12, 2007, 11:17:43 PM Jan raises to 75k; Alan reraises to a total of 255k. Jon and Warren pass, and so does Jan. Looks like his mini-raising strategy may be losing its effectiveness...
Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 12, 2007, 11:29:38 PM Here's some excitement now.
Alan raises to 120k and takes the blinds. Then it's Dave's turn to nick the blinds, although with an all-in. And Mr Clark's all-in preflop again the next hand - and takes the blinds again. My Kingdom for a call. "'Ere coom them caaaards." And again the next hand, Dave announces all-in preflop! He's not even the short stack (Butters is with less than 400k), he's got 629k! And Jan calls! Jan - Ahrt Jc Dave - Ad Qc 3s 2s Tc Ac 2c And Jan Magnus Brevik is OUT in 5th place winning £18,850. Bless him, he came all the way from Oslo after qualifying on Blue Square, hurrah for winning money. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 12, 2007, 11:32:41 PM We see a flop now.
9s 4d 5h - Warren bets 60k; Dave calls. Turn Kd - check check River 2s - Dave says - "I'm playing the board", ah ha ha. Warren shows a pair of nines and takes it. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 12, 2007, 11:37:20 PM Warren Wooldridge - 1,214,000
Dave Clark - 1,102,000 Alan Vinson - 563,000 Jonathon Butters - 261k And apparently they've somehow broken the TV cameras. Maybe they got water poured on them or something. ;hide; Oh no, hang on, they've stuck it back together with duct tape. It'll stick anything, you know. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 12, 2007, 11:46:07 PM Dave raises to 200k and "takes them chips," oh yes he does.
Alan raises 100k from the cutoff/utg and takes them chips. Dave folds his BB 2-7 face up. Now we see a flop - 7d 4h 3d and Alan moves in; Jonathan calls Jon - 8d 4c Alan - 8s 5h Turn - Qd River - 8h ...and Jonathan Butters doubles up. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 12, 2007, 11:52:13 PM Oh bless, apparently Jan Magnus was weeping at the bar and had to be consoled. :'(
Currently the players are taking it in turns to steal the blinds. I really want a cigarette. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 12:06:06 AM Warren raises to 100k, Alan calls.
Flop: 2c Kd Kh Check, check Turn: Jd Warren bets 60k and his (perhaps sneaky) weak bet takes the pot. Alan raises to 130k, Jonothon moves all-in. Alan passes. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 12:13:45 AM Jonothon raises to 100k and takes the blinds. The players have really tightened up since Brevik went out, in fact I think this is the tightest table so far in the GUKPT. Warren Wooldridge seems to be taking the most advantage.
Warren limps on the button, Dave makes up in the small blind, but then Alan spoils the party by selfishly moving all-in. Warren looks grumpy and passes, Dave looks completely neutral, like Switzerland, as he folds. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 12:20:26 AM Dana has gone to get some photos while my computer is playing up.
Jonothon raises to 140k, Warren re-raises to 420k. Dave passes, Jonothon, who seems to have a suspect number of 'o's in his name, an amount of o's that only a communist would surely have, but I'm told that's the correct spelling. Butters passes, we are on a break and the announcer reminds us we are at the business end of the comp. So don't go far. 10 minute break and then 25k/50k/5k Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 12:38:49 AM Play has resumed.
"'Ere coom them caaards. That one's for the press room." Woo! Woo! Dave announces all in. 'Ere cooms the dwell... But they pass and Dave takes the pot. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 12:42:09 AM Blinds are now 25k/50k/5k ante.
Alan pushes from the small blind and takes it down. And then again from the button, Alan shoves, "Alan wins the pot and them chips." That he does. By gum. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 12:44:44 AM A flop for your viewing pleasure - 7h 9s 6c
Warren checks, Dave checks after him. Turn - 5s - check check. River - 3s - check check. Warren - 9-T, and Dave mucks. "And why not." Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 12:48:44 AM Butters raises all in 375k, Warren calls! Oh, blessed action!
Butters - Ad Kc Warren - 8h 8s 3h Ks Tc Jc 2d God loves Butters. Or someone does. I don't think he's capable of losing a race. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 12:58:26 AM Warren raises to 150k and nicks them blaaaiinds.
Then Warren gets a walk. Then Warren raises to 190k and nicks it again. Next, Warren raises to 160k; now Alan "puts all his cookies in the middle" (!) Ooh, this is exciting. Alan - Kh Qc Warren - 9d 9h Board - 4d Td Tc 7c 7d So Alan Vinson is OUT in 4th place winning £25,100. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 01:11:23 AM Butters makes up the blind and BB Warren raises him right out of there.
Butters passes his button and Warren makes up the blinds now; Dave raises to 170k and someone who is not Warren takes them chips. Warren raises to 160k and Butters announces all in. Warren asks for a count. Jon Raab - "Oh my God, has he made any move but all in this whole tournament?" Warren passes, so it doesn't really matter though. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 01:17:43 AM Half-assed battle of the shortstacks - a flop!
9s 4s 7d Dave checks, Butters checks. Turn - 8h - check check River - 7c Butters shows K 5 takes the pot. And them chips. By the way Mickey Wernick and Willie Tann were part of the 4-way chop of the £300 side event. Mickey was a chip monster and is taking the most good cash money home. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 01:26:26 AM Butters nicks the blinds with a 150k raise.
Warren limps from the button. Dave raises to 230k and takes it. Dave limps from the button, Butters folds, Warren checks 2h 3s Jc Warren checks - Dave bets 100k and Warren calls. Oooh, dangerous... Turn - 7d - check check River - 4d Warren bets 200k and Dave passes. Currently Warren - 1,750,000 Butters - 820,000 Dave - 630,000 Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 01:36:25 AM Dave limps in, Jon, half-asleep says, "No raise."
Dave bets the flop and takes it down before I can even see it. Dave raises to 120k from the button. Warren makes the call. Floppage. 9s 2d 8s Checkage. Qs Warren now bets 150k, Dave has a bout of all-inage and Warren passes. Next flop: Kc Js 3c between Warren and Dave, Warren bets 50k, Dave calls. Turn: 4d which looks like a brick. Warren bets 90k. Milkage? In any case, Dave passes. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 01:45:36 AM Warren raises 150k, Dave calls.
Kh 9h 7c Warren moves all-in and Dave passes. Blinds are now 30k/60k/5k Warren doesn't mess around and moves all-in from the button. Jon, "That's a new move." Warren, "It's getting late, I've a long drive home." Warren then gets a walk next hand. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 01:56:41 AM Warren - 1,800,000
Butters - 765,000 Dave - 660,000 Warren is nicking blinds from the button and also getting a lot of walks. Too tight, Dave and Butters, too tight! Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 02:01:00 AM Warren limps, Dave checks.
Flop - 8d 4d Js Warren bets out and Dave folds. Another flop - 6d 5c 5d Dave and Butters both check. Turn - Jc - Dave bets 60k and Butters passes. "Yeah, round of applause again, why not." Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 02:09:48 AM Checks down to the river of a Ahrt 5c 4s Js 7s board and Warren bets 100k. Dave says "I have one little tiny bit of that" before he folds. Enough of this weak-tight nonsense, say I! Shove! Shove shove shove!!! All of you! Have you no homes to go to???
Certain elements of the press have now given up entirely and are looking at unbelievable, unspeakable websites. Floppage - 3d 2c Aspades Turnage - Ac Warren bets 60k and Butters calls it. River's a blank and Warren takes it down with J-3. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 02:14:56 AM Butters takes down a pot, in spite of the "Butters is going out this hand, Butters is going out this hand" chanting in the press room.
Dave announces all in and Butters lets the cards slip through his fingers. Some Qs 7d 5s floppage and Butters spreads out 100k in chips. Warren digs deep and calls. Turn - Jc - Butters checks and Warren announces all in; Butters passes. My, he's spreading himself thin. Ho ho ho. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 02:21:10 AM Butters all-in button-nicks the blinds.
Dana - for the beneifit of those who dont understand it could you run through how the blinds work please? Oooh - sorry - just finished watching tv poker...... The hand ranking goes - high card - one pair - three-of-a-kind... Warren makes it 150k to boringly steal the blinds. Dave now announces all in and oh, oh, Warren (who's already got 60k in there as his BB) asks for a count! Oh action, oh please let's have some action! It's 480k total. Oh for the love of sweet bippy! Warren passes. Boring. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 02:27:24 AM Butters shoves. The players dwell pointlessly for forever now, it's like they're subjecting us to torture. Or maybe it's a decision to try and bore each other to death. Or something.
Dana and I (we are actually now a single weird kind-of-sentient amalgation, posting under the guise of Danafish) might have to go postal at this rate. Oh look, and Butters takes down the blinds. Lucky Butters. Lucky us. Now we truly know the meaning if the word "Neverends." (Yes technically it's two words, but not on blonde) Dave shoves, Jon folds, Warren passes 2-5. Go crazy Warren!!! Goddamit. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 02:37:51 AM Warren shoves from the button, and takes those precious shortstack blinds.
Butters - 330,000 Dave - 590,000 Warren - 2,185,000 Butters and Dave have totally given up, they're both just trying to hang on for second. I have no idea why Warren isn't shoving every single time. Now Butters is small-blind shoving and Warren is folding. 10 minutes left of this level. I'm glad they decided not to cap it at 25k/50k like they were supposed to. Sigh, Warren limps in on Dave's big blind. Why??? With Butters even shorter, Dave is not going to risk the rest of his stack without a big hand. Warren is missing valuable opportunities to squeeze every chip out here. Then finally! Warren pushes. Butters calls! Ad 8s for Warren. Ah Kh for Butters. 5h 5c 5d Kc 7s is the board. Moans from the press, especially the poker verdict people and Butters has doubled up and he's still short. Sigh. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 02:45:56 AM Ts Kd Jh
Warren bets 100k, Dave calls. 6h Warren checks, Dave moves all-in. Warren passes. ****10 minute break**** (The players don't deserve it) We overhear Warren telling friends that after Butters' double-up, it's "a different game". I'm not sure, with both the other players still on 600k, Warren should just raise every hand to 300k and make them find a hand if they want gamble 3rd place to get a shot at 1st. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 03:05:30 AM 40k/80k with a 5k ante, the level will be 30 minutes long.
Warren raises to 200k, Dave and Jon pass. Dave passes, Butters moves in. Warren.......................................................................................passes. Jon passes, Warren moves in. And takes it down. That's more like it from Warren, forcing them to have to find a hand. Jon then gets a walk. Butters then moves in again, he's a slippy customer, Warren passes in the big blind sharpish. Dave shoves the small blind. Takes the blinds. Warren gets a walk. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 03:08:12 AM Warren moves in from the small blind. Dave calls!
Warren: Ad Td Dave: Qd As Board 6s Ac 2h 7h 8h Dave doubles up. And we are going to be here a little longer. When I mean a little, I mean a fair bit. When I mean a fair bit, I mean a long while. When I mean a long while, I mean the rest of our natural life and beyond. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 03:15:07 AM With the Ks exposed, we see Js 9c Jh floppage.
Jon checks, Warren checks. 7h - check check check check check check..... 2d - a Buttersy check, a Warreny bet and Butters passes. Yay. ;sleep; Next hand Butters nicks the blinds. Warren limps and Dave checks. 8s Tc 6c - cheeeeeeeck 9s - cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeck check check check cheeeeeeeeck check 9h - cheeeeck-eck! and Warren's T-5 beats Dave's jack-something. Dave shoves. Butters makes a face like he might call, or like he has constipation. But he passes. Cannot confirm digestive problems either way. Warren asks for a count, but he never seems to call when he asks for a count. It's 750k. And, oh look, he's passed. "Feel free to clap, ladies and gentlemen. Someone's got to keep us awake." Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 03:27:48 AM Warren limpage; Dave checkage.
Floppage- 8h 4s 4d - cheeeeck check check Turnage - Jd - check-eck! Riverererererage - 7c - Warren bets 150k. Dave calls. Warren has a jack, and wins. Dave - "YOU ---- have a piece of EVERY ---- SINGLE ---- FLOP". In our addled minds he sounds like Michael Caine. Ts 6s Ac - Dave announces all in and Warren folds. Dave re-raises a Warren 100k raise to 400k, Warren passes. Warren limps, Dave calls, Jon checks. Hot three-way action! Flop: 4d 9c 5s Checked around. Turn: 2c Checked around. Boooring. River: 7s Dull dull dull. Dave wins with a four. "Gimme the money," he says in his Frank Butcher accent. He might as well add, "Luv ya sweetheart." Warren, who looks a tiny bit like Beavis, limps in. Dave checks his option. 2d Qc 9d Tc 6d Checked to the river, where Warren burrows down into his stack and wins the pot with a 80k bet. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 03:35:25 AM Warren raises to 240k, takes the blinds.
Dave and Jon both move all-in, Warren passes after a a squeeze Jon: Jh Jd Dave : Kd Qh 5h 8c 3h Qd 8d Which means Jon Butters is OUT in 3rd place winning £34,550 Holy Moses on a motorbike with Jesus in the sidecar, we are unbelievably HU! Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 03:43:58 AM I do believe that Warren may take this baby down... ;popcorn; You said that like 5 hours ago. Oh sigh and woe. A flop - 5s 7h 3d - Dave 140k - Warren all in! But Dave folds. Ac 3c 4h - check check 2h - cheeeeck check check 3h - they both bet a billion chips! No, actually they check. Warren has two pairs of some description and wins it. They're now on a short break after which the blinds will go up, a half hour clock now, although that might not actually make this any more painful. We can only hope. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 03:55:59 AM Blinds now 50k/100k.
Dave limps, Warren checks 8c 5d 3d - checkage from Warren, a bet from Dave, an all in from Warren, a call from Dave! Spirits rise in the press room. Dave - Kh Kd Warren - Qs 8s Jh Ts Double-up for Dave. Spirits sink at the prospect of this going on forever. Jen has been hanging around here all day for the sole purpose of driving me home (although she murdered the dealer's choice cash game), and has now passed out. These people have no compassion. The dazed and depressed crowd hald-heartedly respond to the announcer's "Is that worth a round of applause?" I now pray for the apocalypse. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 03:58:36 AM Warren - all in 7 8 off !!!
Dave - J 8 off !!! Ts 3s 2h 4s 7d !!! Warren doubles up to 270k !!! Ah ha ha ha !!!! Ahhhhh ha. Title: Re: Luton GUKPT: Final Day - At A Glance Post by: danafish on August 13, 2007, 04:03:49 AM Dave limps, Warren inexplicably checks.
Flop - Kc 4d Js Warren shoves, Dave calls. Warren - Q5 Dave - J9 Turn - 8h River - 8c Which means that Warren Wooldridge is OUT in 2nd place winning £51,800... ...which necessarily leads us to understand that it is all OVER and DAVE CLARK is the WINNER of the Luton GUKPT, winning £97,300... ...which necessarily leads me to GO HOME. Yay! Well done all those lucky people going home with bunches of cash money, and thanks to the very excellent people of Luton G Casino for being all nice to us. ;stickaforkinme; |
