Post by: sofa----king on August 13, 2007, 09:05:19 AM
it been a sad weekend for the welsh poker boys,,dusty suddenly died this weekend age 39,dusty was from swansea, and a top mate,he was a lunatic on the poker table, either winning it, or being out first,im on holiday and martyn cavanagh rang me last night with this very sad news, some of you might have known him on this site as devils advocate, and to be honest that he was,he could allways cheer someone up if they were a bit down, and the type of guy who would give you his last,
he will be sadly missed RIP MATE...,,,...james and family...

Wow, that is bad news.

Coming the week after Rob Gardner (creator and producer of Late Night Poker back in 1999) died, also in his thirties, this is really sad.

I remember him well in Swansea Grosvenor. Really funny bloke, it's always such a shame when someone passes away so young.

That's terrible news, and my condolences to anyone who knew him, always horrible when someone dies at such a young age.

However, he seemed like a fun guy, check out his last ever post on blonde. He leaves us with a smile at least.

I have never posted anything on the forum before, though I read it often, and am saddened to be writing about something so tragic.
Dusty's passing came as a shock to everyone who plays in cardiff and swansea, whether they knew him well or not, as he was a player who never went unnoticed.  Angry one second then laughing in the next, he wore his heart firmly on his sleeve, a quality which endeared him to anyone who met him.
Our prayers go out to his family.
May he rest in peace.

i didnt manage to go to dustys funeral,as there was no way i could get out of signing final papers at solicitors.
but i was so pleased when i spoke to martyn cavanagh shortly after the service and he informed me there must have been 400-500 people who attended, all queing outside the service,he went on to say that it was nice to see a very good turn out from the grovesnor casino staff,as everybody said he will be missed deeply.

but i wont miss his all-in calls with 2-4 o/s
or waking me up at 5am for a fag when sharing a room with him lol.
god bless mate james
