Title: Star Wars Post by: RED-DOG on August 17, 2007, 09:44:50 PM If you had never seen any of the Star Wars films, would it be better to watch them in the order they were released, or to watch the prequels (sp) "The Phantom Menace" "Attack of the Clones" etc first?
Title: Re: Star Wars Post by: Robert HM on August 17, 2007, 09:48:45 PM I would suggest in release order, if only because the special effects get better as you go along. The earlier ones, production wise, would seem tame if you watched them last.
Title: Re: Star Wars Post by: Tonji on August 17, 2007, 10:49:19 PM I just prefer to never watch them ever again ;)
Title: Re: Star Wars Post by: KingPoker on August 17, 2007, 11:03:43 PM In order of release, just makes sense.
But the first 3 are still the best! Title: Re: Star Wars Post by: ifm on August 17, 2007, 11:16:34 PM Watch the prequals first, it works better that way,
I did this a few weeks back when i was off work with my ankle, great stuff!! Title: Re: Star Wars Post by: Sheriff Fatman on August 17, 2007, 11:22:41 PM I'd say watch them in the order they were made.
Title: Re: Star Wars Post by: Ironside on August 17, 2007, 11:48:44 PM i would say if your new to them then watch them 1-6 but if you have already seen them then the order they are made is good due to the effects
although eps 1 could be left out Title: Re: Star Wars Post by: TheChipPrince on August 18, 2007, 12:13:23 AM Go down the pub, why waste 10 hours+ watchin this drivel! Title: Re: Star Wars Post by: bolt pp on August 18, 2007, 02:46:05 AM Go down the pub, why waste 10 hours+ watchin this drivel! Title: Re: Star Wars Post by: RED-DOG on August 18, 2007, 08:38:06 AM Go down the pub, why waste 10 hours+ watchin this drivel! Oh I'm not watching them, I never have. (apart from the first one when it came out 30 years ago) My daughter bought the complete set from the car boot and asked me which way round to watch them. Life on Earth, The Life of Birds, Planet Earth, The Blue Planet, The life of Plants etc. Now those I have watched over and over again and they are still mind blowing. Must go, Big Brother starting.... Title: Re: Star Wars Post by: Robert HM on August 18, 2007, 08:40:24 AM Must go, Big Brother starting.... May the farce be with you Title: Re: Star Wars Post by: boldie on August 18, 2007, 11:32:10 AM Go down the pub, why waste 10 hours+ watchin this drivel! Oh I'm not watching them, I never have. Must go, Big Brother starting.... lol..I'm guessing this is a "must go" as in "Have to get out of the house to avoid this driffle"? Do you watch QI, Red? Now that's a program where the audience aren't actually automatically assumed to be stupid and you'll pick up some quite interesting tid-bits. Things you always believed to be correct (and were taught to be correct) actually turn out to be complete non-sense. Did anyone know for instance that Marco Polo probably never actually went to China? Title: Re: Star Wars Post by: happybhoy on August 18, 2007, 10:15:03 PM The producer of QI, John Lloyd, co-wrote The Meaning of Liff with Douglas Adams they used an excerpt in one of the shows. It's a funny book
I'd watch 1-3 in order and punt 4-6 on ebay. Empire Strikes Back is a classic bit of cinema |
