Title: Laying down a Hand? Post by: taximan007 on August 18, 2007, 01:18:14 PM Its mid tournament and you have a comfortable amount of chips:
You have AA and make a preflop raise 3x BB and get 1 caller. After the flop the caller moves all in, he has you covered. He is an aggresive player, showing very few hands, but when he does he always has the best hand. At what point do you pass your AA or is it an automatic call? Title: Re: Laying down a Hand? Post by: bolt pp on August 18, 2007, 01:59:38 PM well what was the flop?
Aspades Ac Ahrt Ad 6h or 9d Td Jd it sort of makes a difference Title: Re: Laying down a Hand? Post by: taximan007 on August 18, 2007, 02:05:06 PM It could be anything, but i understand your question; but for the sake of debate lets say
Kc 9d 6h Title: Re: Laying down a Hand? Post by: boldie on August 18, 2007, 02:07:49 PM only pass AA when it's a truly dangerous flop. a suited board and you don't have the nut flush draw. KQJ or QJ10 on the flop and all that stuff is definetly worth considering passing aswell.
K96 rainbow would be completely played dependent but in most cases you can call here. Title: Re: Laying down a Hand? Post by: bolt pp on August 18, 2007, 02:15:11 PM probably beat but i call anyway, especially if its a weekend because thats when the poker softwear changes,my pal who works for stars told me that theyre programed to deal +200% redraws so i'll river an ace
Title: Re: Laying down a Hand? Post by: fearisthekey on August 18, 2007, 02:26:23 PM I'd be looking for a read, can make all the difference. Also depends a bit on your position.......?
Title: Re: Laying down a Hand? Post by: MANTIS01 on August 18, 2007, 04:07:11 PM Why would your opponent put you the pre-flop raiser all-in for a big chunk of chips when first to speak with two-pair or a set? If he has either I would very much like to see please...so call because he prob has 7-8 or a pair of deuces.
