Title: OT. Re heating KFC Post by: ericstoner on August 19, 2007, 04:03:23 PM I put some rather tasty KFC chicken in the fridge on Friday afternoon.
Is it ok to reheat it in the oven, i don'twant to microwave it cos it won't crisp up nicely Is it ok to do this to KFc, or will i be 'sitting out' from the tourny this evening, if i get bad stomach. Title: Re: OT. Re heating KFC Post by: RED-DOG on August 19, 2007, 04:09:41 PM I would Brendan. Mind you, I have a cast iron stomach, I make germs ill.
Just make sure it's hot right through. Title: Re: OT. Re heating KFC Post by: Dewi_cool on August 19, 2007, 04:10:17 PM Brendan, personally i would bin it -EV m8
Title: Re: OT. Re heating KFC Post by: Claw75 on August 19, 2007, 04:12:04 PM I wouldn't risk it - feel I'm gambling enough every time I eat it anyway!
Title: Re: OT. Re heating KFC Post by: redimp on August 19, 2007, 04:12:40 PM Needs to reach 75 degrees c
Then will be fine to eat. Title: Re: OT. Re heating KFC Post by: Graham C on August 19, 2007, 04:25:36 PM I would too, make sure it's piping hot though, then it'll be as good as new :)
Title: Re: OT. Re heating KFC Post by: The_duke on August 19, 2007, 04:27:46 PM The important point here is - how long did you wait before you put it in the fridge. If it was longer than 2 hours (ie it was in the box as you played a tourney and then 3 hours later u think i'll put that in the firdge) bin it -- its not worth it. If it went in the fridge 2 hours or less after purchase heat it quickly and make sure it is piping hot right through before comsumption. If you don't eat it tonight bin it anyway...........
Personally I'm with claw its all crap anyway.............. Title: Re: OT. Re heating KFC Post by: Graham C on August 19, 2007, 04:30:22 PM Wow, having a pop at The Colonel

At least you can tell it's a chicken though, not like that bleached white stuff my local chinese pretends is chicken. Title: Re: OT. Re heating KFC Post by: kinboshi on August 19, 2007, 04:57:01 PM Blitz it in the oven until it's piping hot throughout. That'll kill any germs.
Then have some whisky with it, just in case. Title: Re: OT. Re heating KFC Post by: KingPoker on August 19, 2007, 05:03:21 PM Just pour some dettol over it, you'll be fine honest!

Title: Re: OT. Re heating KFC Post by: Dale on August 21, 2007, 12:51:24 AM I have the most horrific KFC story ever that happened to a friend several years ago. Suffice to say i (or anyone who has ever heard the tale) have never been near the place since. I've heard all the stories but I dont care, KFC is the food of the gods and its finger lickin good! (http://msnbcmedia1.msn.com/j/msnbc/Components/Photos/060613/060613_kfc_fat_hmed_9a.hmedium.jpg) look how nice it is !!!! also in the KFCs in the states they arent using those trans fats and using some decent oils to fry the chicken, which they will soon be doing here soon too. I tried to open a Popeyes franchise here a year or two back but you can't fill out the form without an American social security number :(
Probably for the best, I'd only give myself a heart attack or something. (http://www.popeyesgulfcoast.com/images/im_pop-food.jpg) Title: Re: OT. Re heating KFC Post by: lazaroonie on August 21, 2007, 10:21:21 AM interestingly in the US , one thing you cant get from KFC is chips. It would appear the mashed potato is the most popular side dish. Well that , and "biscuits" which are actually scones.
Title: Re: OT. Re heating KFC Post by: ericstoner on August 21, 2007, 10:35:19 AM yep those buscuits that are really scones are a bit sulty for me.
Title: Re: OT. Re heating KFC Post by: Jon MW on August 21, 2007, 01:38:34 PM I used to cook at KFC, no horror stories though I'm afraid. The worst that happened was the odd bit of chicken dropped on the floor (and that's always down to the incompetent serving staff).
What was really handy though was taking home the occasional bag of secret spices. That way I could not only make KFC at home, but I could give the Kentucky Fried treatment to anything I fancied. Kentucky Fried Sausages were a particular favourite. :) |
