Title: Re: check out our tiny Ms (bubble) Post by: BigTomatoes on August 22, 2007, 07:30:57 PM yeah instacall , btw i cant work out how many starters there were and what the starting stack was to have 13,000 chips total on the table. seems like a crappy structure if its crapshoot time by these blinds and the buyin was $100 , waste of time imo. Title: Re: check out our tiny Ms (bubble) Post by: kinboshi on August 22, 2007, 07:31:29 PM You're ahead of most hands, instapush. You're still in if you're outdrawn.

I found this situation very unusual.... Also, if I call, BB is probably pushing. The next few hands, BB guy will be pushing quite a lot anyway, if I'm not making a stand I'm at 2500 pretty quickly, blinds up to 1000 in 4 mins. Title: Re: check out our tiny Ms (bubble) Post by: BigTomatoes on August 22, 2007, 07:37:30 PM the fact is , 3 handed 77 is ahead of most hands , and with blinds at this point , you simply cant afford to wait for anything better , you have to draw a line in the sand and hope your 77 is good to you. lucky 7s and all that Title: Re: check out our tiny Ms (bubble) Post by: fearisthekey on August 22, 2007, 07:39:55 PM the fact is , 3 handed 77 is ahead of most hands , and with blinds at this point , you simply cant afford to wait for anything better , you have to draw a line in the sand and hope your 77 is good to you. lucky 7s and all that I used to be a stickler for decent structures, this one isn't the best but I find that encroaching blinds make people act crazy..... Title: Re: check out our tiny Ms (bubble) Post by: boldie on August 22, 2007, 07:43:50 PM bb might have been pushing most hands but that doesn't mean he'll call with most. Pushing is the right thing to do here...calling would be something else completely when you've got a very nice CL over nr3.
Title: Re: check out our tiny Ms (bubble) Post by: BigTomatoes on August 22, 2007, 07:45:40 PM my bad , you can raise here say 2400 , but why when you only have 3800 back , just push and try and pick up the blinds , unless you know the BB will probably push and you fancy gambling with him to get into the money , i prefer just to pick up the blinds here.
Title: Re: check out our tiny Ms (bubble) Post by: boldie on August 22, 2007, 07:54:06 PM my bad , you can raise here say 2400 , but why when you only have 3800 back , just push and try and pick up the blinds , unless you know the BB will probably push and you fancy gambling with him to get into the money , i prefer just to pick up the blinds here. yeah I agree a push is much preffered Title: Re: check out our tiny Ms (bubble) Post by: Longy on August 22, 2007, 07:54:56 PM Insta shove this (Im sure i start every post like this), if im reading the hh right you are the button therefore first to act pre flop, right? Its an inexploitable shove and seeing a flop with 77 here is just going to lead to tricky post flop situations.
My range for shoving here is v wide as chip leader and a tight image. Any ace, any pair, any two pictures, any two sooted connectors and a few other hands as well. Title: Re: check out our tiny Ms (bubble) Post by: fearisthekey on August 22, 2007, 08:08:24 PM Button, first to act, correct.
I know that many LAGs/SLAGs know the big difference between pushing with 77 and calling with 77 etc. He's mostly an issue for me if I don't move with this kind of hand and have to put up with him getting busy again. SB guy is awful, for a while I thought he had disconnected he was that weak... Appreciating all the thoughts, glad instapush is winning here :) If flushy were here he'd call me a ******* moron for even debating the issue. I'm sure you can guess the outcome... Title: Re: check out our tiny Ms (bubble) Post by: LeKnave on August 22, 2007, 10:21:27 PM Insta shove this (Im sure i start every post like this) Turbo STT = Insta shove with like anything, especially in this sortof situation. Hence ur insta response of ''Insta shove'' everytime. ps. i shove here so hard. Title: Re: check out our tiny Ms (bubble) Post by: totalise on August 23, 2007, 12:08:22 AM who are you going to fold to? you cant fold to player A coz he only has 900 back if you make it 1600, so you are gonna fold a 4900 pot for 900 if he pushes? i dont think so.. and the BB is going allin most hands, so raising and folding to him is pretty gross coz he is going allin so often! open folding is much better then raising and folding to a push, and with regards to pushing, you can flip your cards over, let them know what you have, and pushing will almost certainly have a positive expectation, so it seems to me that pushing is the best move, and on first glance it doesnt seem to be a close decision.

Title: Re: check out our tiny Ms (bubble) Post by: fearisthekey on August 23, 2007, 11:29:22 AM I only have one player to worry about, and with one other player the odds of both of us having a pocket pair are pretty low, right? Let alone a bigger pocket pair? So going on those odds a push seems right. First mover and all that...
Getting to 800 blinds 3-handed is pretty rare in these formats-----there has been a whole lotta folding going on. Player B folding KT KQ A9 QJ against a push here. Title: Re: check out our tiny Ms (bubble) Post by: A_Leper on August 23, 2007, 01:48:58 PM I don't understand what is happening here.

Isn't this a super standard push? yes it is, there is nothing else to do here (unless you don't care about winning or assume that the poster got beat, as he did, and area results orientated thinker rather than a pokerplayer) results are not always so wildly out of kilter with expectations that someone stops being a 'poker player' area just because they look back on a hand and ask 'could I have done this differently'. Obviously asking it out loud in front of some massive talent is a bit of a mistake chortle Title: Re: check out our tiny Ms (bubble) Post by: boldie on August 24, 2007, 08:35:14 AM I don't understand what is happening here. Boldie: you need to tighten up a bit. Get some discipline. Title: Re: check out our tiny Ms (bubble) Post by: Tragic on August 28, 2007, 12:18:41 AM Why are u playing a 100$ SNG and asking this question? More seriously though, these mental all in players will open push but alot of them have more respect when they are raised. You just can't pass this hand here so I wouldn't worry about it and to be honest in this situation I would be pushing atc until they had odds to call in BB, then I need Q9+ :)
Title: Re: check out our tiny Ms (bubble) Post by: fearisthekey on August 28, 2007, 12:51:38 AM I pushed with it and lost. I'm aware of the value of a middle pair in this situation. There are downsides to it. The difference between first and second place is not that great. The difference between second and third is infinite. The player with next fewest chips is ultraweak, and can probably be robbed into third place. The best result for 3rd placed guy is a fight between 1 and 2. The second placed guy is very aggressive in certain positions but I know will only call against my push with AQ AK or an overpair. So I push, to steal his blind at best, or lose most of my chips otherwise.
Maybe I didn't make this so clear. This tournament has gone on extremely late, which suggests the players though aggressive, are very careful. He will call only if he is ahead..... Title: Re: check out our tiny Ms (bubble) Post by: thetank on August 28, 2007, 01:31:50 AM Would you push with 7d 2s ?

Title: Re: check out our tiny Ms (bubble) Post by: thetank on August 28, 2007, 02:09:14 AM I'm just saying that this is perhaps an insta push regardless of the hand you hold.
Title: Re: check out our tiny Ms (bubble) Post by: fearisthekey on August 28, 2007, 02:25:44 AM yeah, may well be. so many hands, even good hands, that Number 2 can fold in the hope that Number 3 will be knocked out anyway......
Title: Re: check out our tiny Ms (bubble) Post by: fearisthekey on August 28, 2007, 10:41:17 AM I'm just saying that this is perhaps an insta push regardless of the hand you hold. Dunno about 72 lol, maybe, but 77, on reflection is an instapush, no question, which is why I pushed with it. Even though 2nd stack is aggressive, I think he does fold a massive range of hands, I just got really unlucky that I ran into one of them. Any two cards? That's another question... Title: Re: check out our tiny Ms (bubble) Post by: Tragic on August 28, 2007, 03:43:24 PM Imo you should insta push 3c 2h and 7d 2h etc. here. That's how i play big stack on the bubble anyway.
