Title: August ends in a draw Post by: TightEnd on August 31, 2007, 12:25:36 AM A dramatic night
Four teams entered the final Virgin Challenge in contention. The Dookers fell by the wayside.... Team Bluffer came mighty close, two in the top six including the winner Team Silo had one finalist but consistent scores elsewhere Dog Wardens came 3rd and 4th, enough to TIE..one place higher and they win! Final Team Standings (http://www.markbriggs.co.uk/teamchallenge/) So EITHER Maldini for Team Silo or Slim99Slim for The Dog Wardens will play in a GUKPT Top Players in August (http://www.markbriggs.co.uk/teamchallenge/index.php?op=individualleague) The question is who? We have a proposal..... a Freeroll 10 player SNG on a convenient night, the team that provides the winner sends the player to the GUKPT, we'll arrange it tomorrow are the teams in agreement that we go this route? Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: Graham C on August 31, 2007, 12:31:18 AM Yeah I guess so,
Why not have a 10 man play off sit and go with points awarded the same as the month's competitions, the lowest team points wins and sends their winner to the event (using the existing winners of course) Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: sharky_uk on August 31, 2007, 12:31:31 AM Freeroll 10 player SNG on a convenient night, the team that provides the winner sends the player to the GUKPT, we'll arrange it tomorrow I assume by "the player" you mean maldini or slim not the SNG winnerTitle: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: Colchester Kev on August 31, 2007, 12:31:55 AM the proposal is .. i get the 10 players pre entered into a STT to be played at 8.30pm on sunday.
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: Sheriff Fatman on August 31, 2007, 12:32:21 AM I figured this was how it'd go - seems the fairest way to me.
The other alternative would be to let the 2 contenders play heads up, but that's probably putting too much burden on them. I like the SnG option better. Works for me. Sheriff Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: TightEnd on August 31, 2007, 12:32:41 AM Freeroll 10 player SNG on a convenient night, the team that provides the winner sends the player to the GUKPT, we'll arrange it tomorrow I assume by "the player" you mean maldini or slim not the SNG winneryes Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: Sheriff Fatman on August 31, 2007, 12:33:49 AM Yeah I guess so, Why not have a 10 man play off sit and go with points awarded the same as the month's competitions, the lowest team points wins and sends their winner to the event (using the existing winners of course) I like this option better actually, but not sure I can stand another game of tense team tactics. It does lessen the luck factor though. I vote for this in hindsight. Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: TightEnd on August 31, 2007, 12:34:16 AM the Added value prize Was a seat into GUKPT Plymouth, this starts next Thursday
With the draw causing a delay, there is no problem with the eventual winner choosing to play the later GUKPT London or Blackpool, your choice Funds will be transferred into winners Virgin account as soon as we know who wins! Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: TightEnd on August 31, 2007, 12:35:13 AM Yeah I guess so, Why not have a 10 man play off sit and go with points awarded the same as the month's competitions, the lowest team points wins and sends their winner to the event (using the existing winners of course) We are in your hands here. If both teams want to do this rather than relying on providing a winner from the SNG, let us know Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: Moskvich on August 31, 2007, 12:35:33 AM Quote Why not have a 10 man play off sit and go with points awarded the same as the month's competitions, the lowest team points wins and sends their winner to the event (using the existing winners of course) I think this would be painful... Personally I like Rich's proposal on the other thread - that we split any GUKPT winnings ten ways. We drew, so we split it. The probability is, with of course due respect to maldini and Slim, that no-one will win anything from this - but it would be nice to have the interest in it. Then we'd just have to come up with a revised payout plan, which shouldn't be too hard. Maldini and Slim could then just play heads-up to see who actually gets the seat. Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: Moskvich on August 31, 2007, 12:36:19 AM Also, after tonight's tension, I'm not sure I could deal with it again...
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: ripple11 on August 31, 2007, 12:38:06 AM heads up for me.....its been all toooooo much. ;D Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: slim99slim on August 31, 2007, 12:39:43 AM I think STT silo style to determine player.
Then 10 way split. ;carlocitrone; Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: TightEnd on August 31, 2007, 12:41:47 AM OK I have to be up early.
Kev and I will review feedback tomorrow and announce the final plan then As we've both said, we intend doing a 10 runner Freeroll SNG on blonde Sunday 8.30pm, with you all pre-registered. two scoring options...winner gets the seat for maldini/slim, or lowest aggregate score of the 5 players. If we need to decide on that we will but hopefully there can be consensus before then Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: TightEnd on August 31, 2007, 12:42:38 AM I think STT silo style to determine player. Then 10 way split. ;carlocitrone; whatever split the two teams decide of the £100,000 is fine by us! Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: Colchester Kev on August 31, 2007, 12:42:47 AM guys TBH we never for one second considered the scenario that we now find ourselves in, so i think the fairest option is to just tell you what we have decided.
we will run a 10 man stt on sunday at 8.30pm, the winning player of that STT will determine which team gets the seat. we know the 2 players in contention for the seat, and as its a team game, this team play off is the answer IMO. no special scoring etc ... just a plain old STT with winner takes all. we need to make this decision almost immediately so i can sort out the STT as it does take some time to get loaded. Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: Bigfella on August 31, 2007, 12:45:11 AM ;popcorn;
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: ripple11 on August 31, 2007, 12:46:25 AM yep, OK winner takes all ..so if you cant make it , it wont matter too much.
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: slim99slim on August 31, 2007, 12:49:25 AM Sounds good to me Kev
What about the rest of the Dogs? Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: Moskvich on August 31, 2007, 12:52:34 AM OK, well I'm not going to argue too much about this - whatever everyone decides is OK by me.
But as it might affect others' opinions, I should tell you that I almost certainly won't be able to play on Sunday. (Obviously if others can't play either then it could give one side a huge advantage). Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: maldini32 on August 31, 2007, 12:56:06 AM where is plymouth? ;carlocitrone;
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: RichEO on August 31, 2007, 12:57:09 AM I don't like it, for this reason: Team game is ok when there is a lot of other teams mixed in. 1 team vs another, too much folding to team mates and ganging up, it's inevitable. It could turn into a farce.
However, I will go with whatever the 2 winners decide, it IS their choice in my opinion. So, Slim and Maldini choose. I will keep my mouth shut from now on. (Oh and SNG on sunday I will have to change my plans! but I will do). Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: Moskvich on August 31, 2007, 12:57:30 AM About as far as you can go from where you live without falling off the country.

Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: The_duke on August 31, 2007, 12:59:48 AM OK -- here we go Slim & Maldini -- its all to play for -- as the winners (by one point slim) i think that we should play this game Sunday with team points -- if dogs win Slim goes ( I will rail) and if Silo wins Maldinin goes (I might still rail).. lets do it
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: maldini32 on August 31, 2007, 01:03:23 AM Im wit moskovitch and Rich it could turn out to be well unfair, slim wot do u reckon a game of pro evolution soccer? winner takes it?
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: Colchester Kev on August 31, 2007, 01:11:03 AM right... after long msn convos with no deffo answer in sight, i will leave it to you guys to sort out what you want to do ... if there is no cast iron agreement by mid day tomorrow (FRiday) we will just have to go with the 10 man stt ... winner takes all.
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: RichEO on August 31, 2007, 01:19:06 AM Slim has sent his number to Maldini via PM, hopefully they will decide what they want to do.
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: TightEnd on August 31, 2007, 01:21:22 AM let us know on here then please, as Kev says before midday
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: The_duke on August 31, 2007, 01:22:46 AM Hate to be a pain -- but would this STT result be individual or team -- ie if the aggregate score is dogs slim goes -- or if (god forbid) I win ?????
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: TightEnd on August 31, 2007, 01:23:34 AM Hate to be a pain -- but would this STT result be individual or tem -- ie if the aggregate score is dogs slim goes -- or if (god forbid) I win ????? we are suggesting winner takes all a Dog wins, Slim goes a Silo wins, maldini goes Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: The_duke on August 31, 2007, 01:25:24 AM scratch tht if i win Slim goes anyway

Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: The_duke on August 31, 2007, 01:34:39 AM Right my head hurts -- it was a great comp really enjoyed it -- I have aged about 10 years -- will await chat between two winners -- bedtime --- bye bye ---- (or just maybe a little cash game)
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: maldini32 on August 31, 2007, 01:35:00 AM me and slim jus had a chat and were thinking the best out of 3 heads up is the best option.
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: slim99slim on August 31, 2007, 01:36:18 AM Im wit moskovitch and Rich it could turn out to be well unfair, slim wot do u reckon a game of pro evolution soccer? winner takes it? Not my speciality. Spoke to maldini we have agreed on a best of 3 heads up, and then to split all the money 10 ways whoever goes! If everyones happy? Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: The_duke on August 31, 2007, 01:36:52 AM Go for it
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: Colchester Kev on August 31, 2007, 01:37:06 AM me and slim jus had a chat and were thinking the best out of 3 heads up is the best option. thats fine by me, you guys are the 2 that matter, if thats what you want to do, go ahead and doo it ... i need the result ASAP so we can get the money transferred to the winner. Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: maldini32 on August 31, 2007, 01:39:24 AM do we organise the heads up between ourselves kev? or are u gonna sort it for sunday?
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: The_duke on August 31, 2007, 01:39:47 AM Phoned Ladbrokes got good odds on Slim -- money on -- game on -- lets do it
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: slim99slim on August 31, 2007, 01:40:31 AM For the split of monies that we are going to win ;whistle;
Do you wanna go 50/50 or weight in favour of the victor? Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: The_duke on August 31, 2007, 01:41:50 AM LOL isn't life complicated
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: Moskvich on August 31, 2007, 01:43:47 AM Good decision guys - it's you two that it affects most, so it's right that the play-off should just be between you two, without anyone else involved who could mess it up for you.
Good luck! Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: The_duke on August 31, 2007, 01:43:53 AM Tell us when the game is on and we will rail --(loudly of course)
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: maldini32 on August 31, 2007, 01:44:05 AM I reckon the winner should get say 30% and the rest of it split 9 ways....or we can get our skippers to sort it out!
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: Sheriff Fatman on August 31, 2007, 01:44:50 AM I'm happy with anything that's agreed between slim and maldini, as they're the guys that matter in the end!
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: slim99slim on August 31, 2007, 01:47:21 AM I reckon the winner should get say 30% and the rest of it split 9 ways....or we can get our skippers to sort it out! This sounds like a plan .... what do u reckon captain? Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: The_duke on August 31, 2007, 01:48:23 AM Seriously -- its right and proper that the two headliners go for it.. sooo no pressure but the dogs reputation is at stake -- go go go Slim
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: The_duke on August 31, 2007, 01:50:33 AM its getting complicated -- I need a drink -- BRB
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: RichEO on August 31, 2007, 01:54:34 AM 30%, 12%, 9%, 6%, 3% for winning team 60% total
20%, 8%, 6%, 4%, 2% for 2nd team 40% total This is a 60-40 split to whoever wins the head-up as they are playing the event they should get more. It is in the same ratio as the original rules, which I think we should stick to. Slim asked me to post this to see what everyone thinks. (Of course you can internally alter your team percentages if you wish - but we need a clear cut split before anything is played). And the decision is still Slims and Maldinis I reckon! Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: RichEO on August 31, 2007, 01:56:38 AM What's geting complicated :P? I'm 4th in our team :( So if slim plays and wins I get 6%, if Maldini plays and wins I get 4%. Of course if whoever plays doesn't cash, it's easy to work out, I get zip.
Title: Re: August ends in a draw Post by: maldini32 on August 31, 2007, 01:58:27 AM yeah rich that sounds spot on....im happy with that. slim?
