Title: N/P Mercury Prize
Post by: thetank on September 04, 2007, 09:06:17 PM
Live On BBC4 the now.

I thought I'd mention it, as I haven't seen them punt the fact that it's on much.
90 minute show, all the nominated acts play (I think), good gig for a Tuesday.

Mon the Winehouse

Dizzee fantastic.  Brass backed version of an unreleased single, again proving its about the music and not an image.  A great live performer.

Winehouse looks the best I have seen her for ages.

Whiley - Yes Please.

lol

So who's gonna win?  My guess is Amy, she's got a great voice (imo) and has made such an impact in the last year.   Can't see the Monkeys winning again.  That Lashes group may do it, it's the year of the unusual act to win, perhaps it could be them

I prefer the new Arctic Monkeys album to be honest.  I think I'll plump for winehouse to win as well though.

watching those old winners has got me going through my CDs now - I'm going to listen to Suede, Badly Drawn Boy and Pulp tonight :)

Claw see the Klaxons in a decent venue - preferably outside :) and they will do you fine.
Don't judge them on that - they are usually very energetic honest.

Winner - Please not Winehouse.

Secretly i do really like her, not as a person but her music and voice is great and hope she wins.

But she needs to sort herself out, could easily throw that talent away if she carries on the way she is!

I like Klaxons but no way the best!

Best song they have done this year was a cover!

Mark Ronson - eligiable next year I think.

And Claw yes Money back Guarantee.

Those Klaxons boys look 'tired and emotional'.

Did the Klaxons not realise this was on the telly? Did they get dressed in the dark?

I would have liked Amy to have won - I think she has an amazing voice and I seriously hope she gets back on track.

Njoy your music tonight, Claw, good choices, especially BDB!

Mark Ronson - that's a good album - cheers, must dig it out, thanks

Perhaps they got dressed 15 years ago.  They shouldn't let these boys drink

I thought ronsons album was dissapointing, loads of filler, and the best track is an old one.

they're all old songs aren't they? I thought they were all covers.
