Best bet is for one of the mods ( Ironside Cough cough) to gather a list of blondites who will be attending (with their real names, although not published publically) and then that can be forwarded to either myself or Dik9. In order to keep within our limits player wise i suggest that all blondites would have to be a member of the forum by a specific date, to prevent gatecrashers creating accounts just to turn up, especially if that meant an established blondite missing out.


Please do not forget ID on the day, or even come and have a peek before hand to get a feel for the venue and introduce yourself.

And remember this is all about having a good time so questioning Diks crazy rules lol

Re lift sharing - there's 3 of the lads (including me) up for the trip we're looking at the train though to get a game on the way down :D - we'll keep you updated as plans develop.

It uses a standard outgoing HTTPS connection, with a key which is changed on a very regular and frequent basis. Even if they suspect it is not standard web traffic (which in this case, it is) and even if they manage to decrypt some of the data, they will get a miniscule snapshot, not very useful to anyone.

If, as I suspect, his employer is using some sort of web proxy whose allowed URL lists are obtained from an external source, then very often as new websites get categorised, they become banned. The IT department hasn't specifically banned that website, but the people who manage the proxys database have categorised a bunch of previously uncategorised URLS. EG, blondepoker would be classed as a gambling website.

If it is company policy that such websites should not be browsed, not under any circumstances, then I'll take the point that it will land him in serious trouble if they happen to see him browsing it. Thats pretty much the only way of getting caught. Either that or they examine the machine and find the proxy circumventing tools installed.

It's much better to do everything yourself via a tech friendly open SSH port (22) and an always on machine outside the firewall (eg my home box) :D Standard practise for many in the IT industry these days. I don't browse anything without the use of my home proxy and a secure connection.

yes Brummiewood (as a sign i saw today put it) has a sea life centre (the only one inland,amazing huh), cant see it being busy tho as all the fish will be at our fantastic establishment that weekend.

There are also several dozen hotels very close to casino, as far as i know something is in the process of being arranged

Based on a previous expereience in Walsall, when the Casino closes, the fun really begins. I gather Iron, Jen, Robert, Tighty & a few other reprobates spent all night playing cards in the hotel. Expect the same sorta thing here!

excuse me tighty wasnt there when i was, i had MalcM and Jo handiman for company (with jen and robert) and they all made the mistake of only booking 1 night in hotel so decided to wakr me up at noon to go for lunch just because they got kicked out

As it stands, it's a Saturday evening affair, though if a group of blondes wanna take a football match in - proper English Football - I am sure there must be a team in Brimiingham somwewhere.

One way or the other, Saturday night wll end up as an all-nighter, there will be no going to bed, after we are ejected from The Broadway, I fully expect some action back at the Hotel. (Maybe Dani will join us there...).

We are hoping dik9 can puit a £100 "opn to all" comp on for the Sunday night (with single table sats to it on Saturday night), if any blondes can stay behind to play that it would be mega, though I guess many folks will wanna get home for work on Monday.

Don't know whats actually happening blondes side but I have already agreed with bosses that you will have dealers afternoon and night on Saturday and Sunday. £30 FO Sat night (private tourny for blondes) £100 DC FO NLHE Sunday night (open to all)

Rod, Dave & I are getting a very good rate for flights to Brum just now but I dont want to book until we're sure that our flights fit in with the schedule.

Our plan at the minute is to fly down on the Saturday morning & back on the Monday.

Made a bit of a breakthrough last night wrt the girlfriend's interest in the game - I was playing online and about to be outdrawn when the river reversed things and gave me the pot. I let out a cry of 'get in there' and punched the air.  She cottoned on to this and the next time I won a pot she screamed out 'get in there' at the top of her voice. She ended up watching me play for the next hour or so and celebrated every pot I won in the same way, including pots when all folded to my big blind.  Who knows, next she might just want to play the game.

Part of that whole debate about keeping the cost of the blonde tourney down was exactly this - so that the "non-playing" partners can play. This is SO important, both to make the evening a success, & help our partners & loved ones better understand our poker fetish.

So, the more "partners" play, the better, please. Nobody is gonna be shown up.

For example, Ginger would play the event anyway - but there's no reason why the newbie Flushy Fish should not play as well.

not quite confirmed the start time for the £30 yet on the saturday, could possibly be an earl;y start tho. Not my decision but i'm sure the boss (not sure of who yet lol) will post somethin soon.

Sundays £100(tbc) will more than likely be a 9pmish start as per the norm.

The Casino opens at 12 midday for food and drinks every day. I was planning on starting the £30 FO at about 7pm, I will need to confer with Tikay a bit closer to the time, i was thinking 5000 pts on a 45min clock?? Gaming and poker room will be open at 2pm for side games. The £100 FO will start at 9pm. Any special requirements please pm me. This is definately a go, so feel free to book flights. I have not spoken to the hotel yet but it will definately not be a problem.

there's plenty of room for more. Max is 120 i seem to remember dik9 saying

110 is official cap but, we will add extra tables if needed I believe.
