Title: Tomato Ketchup
Post by: The Camel on September 08, 2007, 03:58:10 PM
My girlfriend keeps the tomato ketchup in the fridge.

Am I alone in thinking this is totally bizarre?

Why would anyone want cold tomato sauce?

I'd say its 50/50 on whether people keep their ketchup in the firdge.

Probably 80% keep salad cream in the frige.

95% keep mayonaise in the fridge.

And it seems 1 wierdo keeps their branston pickle in the fridge :P

Because it says "refridgerate after opening and consume within six weeks" on the bottle ?

However I don't keep mine in the fridge, it's one of the perks of being single  ::)

Ironside, you ought to have made yourself more clear. Women are those that wear skirts and keep their purse in a handbag, not those that wear skirts and dangle their purse over their groin.

It so happens I am over that Omaha episode  ;grr;, so I am now working on the position for the third fridge -- too far from the table to the fridge #2 (at least 5 metres)

MAYONNAISE INGREDIENTS:
•   2 egg yolks
•   3/4 teaspoon salt
•   1/2 teaspoon powdered mustard
•   1/8 teaspoon sugar
•   Pinch cayenne pepper
•   4 to 5 teaspoons lemon juice or white vinegar
•   1-1/2 cups olive or other salad oil
•   4 teaspoons hot water

Blender or Processor Mayonnaise
Place yolks, salt, mustard, sugar, pepper , and 3 teaspoons lemon juice in blender cup or work bowl of a food processor fitted with the metal chopping blade, and buzz 15 seconds (use low blender speed). Now, with motor running, slowly drizzle in 1/4 cup oil (use moderately high blender speed). As mixture begins to thicken, continue adding oil in a fine steady stream, alternating with hot water and remaining lemon juice. Stop motor and scrape mixture down from sides of blender cup or work bowl as needed.

Variations
Irish Mayonnaise:        Prepare mayonnaise. Then mix in pint of Guinness (use quick it curdles) and drink it
Curry Mayonnaise:       Prepare mayonnaise. Add curry powder (great on chips after a few beers)
Russian Mayonnaise:    Prepare mayonnaise. Add polonium 210 and post it to an exiled dissident.
Kinboshi Mayonnaise:   Prepare mayonnaise but use an old blender as it gives a better bad beat
Tikay Mayonnaise:       Just click you fingers and the mayonnaise will appear just like his cards
Tightend Mayonnaise:  Prepare Mayonnaise. Pour over entire Waitrose cold meat selection.
Ironside Mayonnaise:    substitute all liquids in the ingredients with whiskey and consume within 1 minute
Dewi Mayonnaise:        forget the ingredients and have a pipe installed direct from St James Gate
Mickeyp Mayonnaise:    Prepare mayonnaise and serve in a lucky boat.
Kev Mayonnaise:          Prepare mayonnaise, hide it, wait 3 months and then use it  (will reek as bad as his play)

Happy eating
