Title: WPT at The Bellagio - Day Three
Post by: tikay on April 21, 2005, 08:58:16 PM
And it begins well for the Brits, as Paul Maxfield sets Maureen Feduniak all-in, & hits his Flush.

Paul Maxfield - 250k.

Post by: tikay on April 21, 2005, 09:07:47 PM
Wiorld Champion Greg Raymer tries a move on Denmark's Mads Andersren, Mads calls & the pot is 450k. Greg had 6 outs, & caught one for a straight, so Mads Andersen is OUT.

Greg must therefore be nearly Chip Leader. Mads finished 5th in the EPT at Copenhagen, and should not be confused with Matthias Anderson.

Mads Andersen OUT.

But there are a few

Hehe, behave now.

But Michael Mizrachi would make sense, he had 308k overnight, so sounds like he doubled through. Hardly "Grinding" as I know it, though........

Hi Tikay, in the middle of the storm again? ;)
Hows the atmosphere there? Starts to get tighter?

Do you have any updates about the Swedes?

But Bad for Boston

Overnight Chip Leader Alan Boston, who had 493,000, is down to 270k after a bad first session. The reports that suggested Dave was overnight Chip Leader (not on blonde!) were incorrect.

Maxfield Makes a point

Paul Maxfield is up to a very handy 360k.

He wishes to point out that "when I hit my flush & doubled up, I ALSO had a gutshot straight draw".

Ah, that's OK then. Paul we don't care if you had a double belly buster, just DO THE BUSINESS. Plenty of folks back home are rooting for you.

Hi Lassoo. In reply to your earlier post, no, unfortunately, on this occasion, I am NOT at the venue. but my partner in blondepoker, Dave Colclough, is in the thick of things, & is sending me updates. Simon Aces Trumper, now sadly out of the comp, is also sending stuff across. But it's a bit hard to give you too much info on your fellow Scandies. See, when tikay is there, he does it better - but then again, tikay is usually OUT by now......

Are you from Sweden?

Hi Tikay,
I think that Blondie should focus on his play and buy you a trip so there can be proper reporting ;).

Yes Im from Sweden, Link?ing in fact and you might guess which player I am most interested in, lol.
Keep up the good work and remind Mr Colclough about where to invest.
Take care.

Tikay,
Norway is the part of Scandinavia where the shrimps state that they are lobsters :D.
Link?ing is the poker capitol (maybe) of Sweden (sorry for the lobster kind of statement), and the base for i.e. Daniel Larsson, Bengt Sonnert ;D, Erik Sagstrom & Sargon Ruya.
Is there anythingmore to add ::)

Dave Colclough is back up to 380k, that's more than double average.

The Grinder, Michael Mizrachi, continues to grind away at the top of the leaderboard with 740k. A Grinder with 740k? Brings a whole new dimension to the word.

Thanks Andy. It's not exactly high-tech, but it seems to be working. And you are spot-on, I have relayed all the good luck messages for the Brits back to Dave, & they seem well pleased.

Let's just hope Dave goes all the way - then we will keep getting the Updates!

Hi Barry (No Leaks).

Patience or aggression?

Sounds like Grinding at the moment. But it's a sobering thought that the chip leader, with about 740k, only has ONE THIRD of the average stack for the Final. Long way to go......

No Leaks is Richard (not Barry - you were confused by the business e-mail address)
Impressive reporting service - under 10 minutes for the Raymer chip count and good news as well.
Let's make this a little harder....
Who's gonna bubble?  And how many has first WPT main event winner Alan Goerring got?

So, who's gonna Bubble?

Anyone else care to make a prediction?

Keith

I too have only played with Ivey once at the WPT in gay Paris last year.

He moved all in on the button with 23 - got called and got knocked out

Rubbish player

Let's deal with Camel first.

You mean tikay don't scare you? Say it ain't so.......

PS

Forgot to mention - It was beginning of day 2 - he was in a foul mood cos he had to come back as shortest stack and along with the rest of the yanks thought Paris was a dump :)

Title: Re: WPT at The Bellagio - Day Three
Post by: The Camel on April 22, 2005, 01:39:08 AM
I played against him when he was "hungry" for success.

These days he plays in cash games so big, that a first prize of a million or so just doesn't motivate him.

If he is, in horse racing terms, a "trier" (and the fact he's been a short stack for so long and grafted away in true Tikay style suggests he is) he is quite simply a monster.

Quote from Mr Colclough.....

"moving & shaking, over 300k again".

I replied " I think I love you".

He replied - well, let you guys work that out. But I sorta got the impression it was not reciprocated.

Tony,

What were you looking at when your photo was taken, in the picture by the side of your posts, that caused your eyebrow to be at such a strange angle?

OK, Cavendish Classic details for The Sheriff.

2 day jobbie, 10k starting chips as far as I know. A week ago I spoke to Sean Murphy, & they had sold or reserved 80 seats. Capacity is 200. Get your arse over there. And Maid Marion's too.....

Poker 425 are sending a crew as well.

Me, Thewy, Mel Lofthouse, Jim Reid, Rhowena, are all staying at the Malone Lodge Hotel.

Jeez, you do notice the stangest things Mr Hawkins. Get on Stars & sign up for the $210, $525 & $1,000 SNG's, I can't earn money until they fill, & you'll do nicely.

The pic? It was taken by Joe Beevers in Copenhagen. Kevin O'Connell had just walked past with a pot of tea. You don't see stranger sights than THAT....

Hi Spacefrog, always nice to welcome a Frenchman on blonde........

"Sorry for the English". Mutual, rest assured.....

Paul Testud had about 440k last I heard.

Jan Boubli has been up & down all day, but I have not heard how he's shaping for a good while.

Do you count Isabelle as French? If so, she was doing just fine last I heard.

Too right, Micky Wernick is hot right now. He made, I believe, 5 or 6 Finals in a week at Walsall, & two big moneys at Luton.

And he made two terrific plays in the biggie at Luton. One was a huge bluff with 7-2 for half his huge stack.

And in the Final, when Alan McLean was bullying like billyo, he put down QQ to yet another Alan McLean raise - & Alan had the Aces. What a pass THAT was!

Tony Bloom 60k

Dave describes the new chip leader (1,400,000) as an "unknown", but it was the guy who decimated Dave's stack earlier, when Dave had Q6 on the 6-6-x flop, & Matey Boy had A6.

Hi xdanielx, welcome to blonde.

Sorry, not sure of the blinds right now. Is 300k comfortable?

Well I reckon average now is around 489k, so not exactly comfortable, but certainly no need to press the panic button yet.

It's still anyone's to win, & everyone's to lose.

Good luck with your bet on Isabelle, she will do her best, that's for sure. It's already her biggest win, if I am not mistaken, & she ain't finished yet. Isabelle is a follower of blondepoker, and her Mum is an active member of the blonde Forum, & regularly follows Isabellle's progress via blonde. And we interviewed Isabelle for Poker 425, she gave us a very professional interview which came out well.

Thanks Tikay,
We'll be there at noon, and keep me up to date
with Isabelle.

Mention Isabelle's Mum, & there she is - "Surprise".. Hi, how are you today? Proud of that daughter of yours, I'll bet.

She did great yesterday, & she is in there with a great chance. And if that nasty Mr Ivey starts trying to bully her again, I think he may be in for bit of a shock - she will fire back at him plenty quick!

Isobelle's interview on Poker 425 was terrific, Isabelle asked me to get her a tape of it, & I am sorting it for her.

Good luck tonight. I assume by "noon", that's Noon in Canada. It starts at 8pm English time I believe. Is Canada in America?

After Phil Ivey re-raised Isobelle for the third time, she just told him the next time she was all-in
and everyone at the table knew she meant it
Phil didn't re-raise the next time Isobelle raised

There has been a new table draw though, so she should be away from him

Had an email from isa and 3 times Mr Ivey played back at her and 3 times she lay down. As you know Tikay she is not a lady to be pushed around and I think it was probably a good job for Mr Ivey that the tables have been redrawn. Good luck isa, a good few over here are rooting for you.

I'd love to have seen Isabelle's face when she said that to Phil - and his! Don't mess with Isabelle!

What view do you have on your table draw for today Dave?

If your on the recieving end of "the look" from isabelle you dont forget it in a hurry. A final with Dave, isa and Ivey would be interesting.

Day 3 of this event was probably the most frustrating of my poker career.
For the most of the day, I was sat on an excellent table again, with lots of chips on offer. The main problem was we had a couple of calling stations. Which is fine, as long as you can pick up the odd hand...it just didn't happen

In 7.5 hours of poker , I picked up a pair of Jacks and one AK, no AQs & no other pairs above 9s. Incredibly frustrating in this level of tourney.

Eventually I cracked. I played Q6 of hearts on the button. Mainly, just because it was the blinds for Victor Ramin and John Smith. Both had big stacks, and both were calling stations, and I knew I could get on if I hiit something. Two 6s hit the board and I proceeded to lose 270k to A6 held by the big blind

The whole of the rest of the day was just survival, stealing the odd blind to tread water

Eventually I found JJ and moved over the top of Victor who called my only all-in with 99 - my hand stood up, and I had some more oxygen

The deck is due to hit me in the face first thing today, so maybe we will catch up fast when it does....maybe not

Evening alll.

Fizackley? No idea WHERE that is. Probably in Liverpool (the guy's name is Scouse Bill, & scousers come from Liverpool). For Surpise's benefit, Liverpool is a suburb of Manchester, in England. And they have a football team, Everton.

And Surpise agrees with me that Canada is in America, then says it is north of the United States. Amazing how few women understand geography.

ok to correct Mr tikay (chauvanist)

canada is part of the continant of north america
the USA is also part of north america

canada is north of the USA and not part of the USA as most canadians seem to think

there is no such place as america
americans are people that come from the USA

i'll stand up for the ladies on the forum
