Seeing as it will be unlikely I can attend, can I rely on you to carry on the unique "Out of Turn, Checking in the Dark" ?

Step aside you pretenders.  The winners have landed....

Team:  ;tightend;  Beauty & the Beasts

  • Kinboshi - Captain  - makes up for lack of skill an experience with enthusiasm and sheer luck
    ;djinn;
  • Robert HM - Legal Eagle - the sharpest legal mind, and the sharpest jumpers
    ;nemesis;
  • Red-Dog - Yorkshire's finest - Experienced, unflappable, respected, drives a Ferrari 308 GTS
    ;hattip;
  • Tikay - Legend - Ranked No.1 in the world and beat Moses in a best out of 9 HU tournament - twice
    ;tk;
  • Chili - Femme fatale - top player, feared and admired by all, token female in the team
    ;whistle;

Anyone taking bets? A tenner to win please :-)

uh oh have lost 2 members of the charlotte church choir at least with kin and ripple out.

Still awaiting back on DC and rudders but have a horrible feeling DC might be forming a D-T-D team this yr so the choir may not be singing in the valleys :(

And coz kin has jumped ship (traitor) into a team with tikay of all ppl for gods sake, i am offering a 2 pound bounty, yes you read right, a whole 200 pence!or a beverage, whichever is prefferred to every player that beats him in the HU comp!
(which will hopefully be only one drink as they wont get past the first round)

That was the reasoning Matt - and it also gives those that go deep in the ME (whatever doing deep means - no rude comments) get a chance to play in the HU event.  There's not going to be a solution that suits everyone though.

Sunday is going to be tricky for my 'Gods of Poker' team too, but understand the reasoning behind holding it that day. Last time looked like an absolute nightmare for Kev to organise lol :)

That was the reasoning Matt - and it also gives those that go deep in the ME (whatever doing deep means - no rude comments) get a chance to play in the HU event.  There's not going to be a solution that suits everyone though.

imo my opinion the tournament has been devalued by switching it to sunday.

people come from all over the country for the event and have to leave early sunday as most have work to get to on monday.

yes it took alot of organising and at times was a nightmare last time but theres got to be a better way than transfering to sunday afternoon.
maybe each team should have 6 players to choose from so if a player is going deep in the main event team captains have a bigger squad to choose from.

personally i think that ironsides being a lazy b stard and doesnt want to put the work in kev and ginger did last time now hes in charge  ;nana;

What if they had 2 players go deep in the ME?

A number of teams did last time - and so reserves had to be drafted in.  It meant that some of the 'teams' weren't actually teams. I think it was a case of either abandoning the HU event or looking for an alternative solution this time.  It might be that the solution we've come up with isn't ideal - and we might have to try something else next time.

if you had bigger squads they would all be part of the team thus nobody has to be drafted in

i still think its cos ironsides a lazy bstard lol

I understand your point - and whatever we'd decided would have been the right thing for some, and no good for others.

On the bright side though, it frees up 10 minutes of your time on the Saturday night now... ;D

If you had teams of 5 you would only need the 5th if there needed to be a decider at 2-2.

ironside?.. sat on his arse all day! (x)

Alternatively the problem of going deep in the ME like I did at BB4 was not an issue as my heads up team kindly lost the first 3 matches not even giving me the opportunity to play :)

Snats, are team "Billy Good Mates" returning at BB5???

actaully running it on the sunday was not the option i came up with but it is the option that all the mods including myself support

it should finish early enough fo everyone to get home (if i run it right)

i resent the statement that i am a lazy barstward not willing to put in the effort

I just had an interesting MTT on DtD.

I got to the final table as the short stack.

And I got to HU with a 7:1 chip deficit to my opponents enormous pile of virtual chips.

I'm sure I don't need to spell out who ended up winning the tournament ;D

Just thought it was worth a mention leading up to this HU tournament  ;whistle;
