Title: Netteller Question
Post by: Rod Paradise on October 19, 2005, 03:14:55 PM
Do mastercard pay in to net-teller? Just had a deposit declined - but the old plastic isn't overloaded (yet)....

Any one know?

Some credit cards are accepted and some arent (both for visa and mastercard) you need to contact the company who's credit card it is and ask them whether they accept online betting or neteller transactions. some credit cards companies do not allow transfers to other accounts unless you actually purchase something - they do not see neteller as a "purchase" of anything and therefore do not allow it.

(that seemed to be the impression from my credit card company i got once upon a time when tried to deposit to my neteller account a long time back and it was declined)

Was this afternoon Nakor, so think it was something else.

Have had an email saying they needed more confirmation of address... so the old copy of a bill is on its way to them.

Monkey Boy, I've used the card on Betfair, so don't know why there'd be a problem.... but will try again once the account's verified, then contact card company.

ahh gotcha :) if you can use the card for other transactions like that then its probably not a fault of your card

The only time i tried to deposit the money onto neteller was after i tried to use the same card to deposit money onto one of my online betting accounts and it was declined so i tried it on neteller as well and it was declined on there. basically all i can do with the card is go shopping!!!  ;D

That seems very strange matt. Companies are happy to leand you the money regardless of whether you are buying things with it or simply withdrawing the cash. In fact, they prefer these sort of transactions as they can charge the higher rate of interest on cash advances. Its effectively the same as going to the ATM, punching in your pin and withdrawing some cash.

one of the many points i tried raising with the woman on the other end of the phone when i rang their customer services number. after about 10 minutes it was apparent that banging my head against the wall would make more sense and i gave up with them. now i just use the card in extreme emergancy only (the only reason i got it was to play poker and gamble many years ago!!)
