There has been an exit and double up already,  An unfortunate Panos Panayi raised it up with  Ad Kd and was called by Matt Tylers  Qc Qh.  I didn't see the hand board itself but am informed that Panos turned a nut flush draw, whilst Matt was going nowhere with trip queens.  I assume all the chips went in then and there and Matts trips improved to a house on the river.   Great stack already for Mr Tyler.

Panos just a few minutes later said to Snoops "I had a massive hand and I couldn't get away from it!"  A few of us may have had to have our £1,000 stretch a little longer.

Also a late arrival is a local and very happy Stuart (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=419) Fox (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=419), joining a table with Alli Mallu, Ash (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=38) Hussain (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=38) and Barry (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=42) Neville (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=42), actually named "Table large boy"  Pic to follow.

Crikey O'Reilly, we've had anothr exit, it's as if no one wants to play today! This time, the victim is D Ruparellia, the latest to crumble under the magnifying glass of PI Dick Slade. In full investigative mode, poker's favourite detective looked his opponent up and down like a piece of raw meat as he mulled over a 3,125 all-in on a  5c Qc 8c 9h board. Ruparellia looked calm under the Slade spotlight, but the Prestonian wasn't convinced, calling, and correctly so, a third of his stack with Qs 4s. Ruparellia sheepishly revealed an inferior 9s 7s and one harless Aspades river later and it was all over for Ruparellia, Slade left to bask in the glory of all the "good call" compliments from his neighbours. Watch this space for updates on the size of Slade's head.

Jen says, "slow, slow slow so far" and Julian is about 5k up after hitting i believe, a house, a flush and a straight - 2 of those against the same guy.  Also, drumm rolllllllllllllllll please, there has a been another exit.  On a board looking like this:

 6d  9d  Ts

A Abbassi makes a 1k bet against Stuart Fox, who things for a few seconds before pushing his entire 12.5k ish stack ALL IN.  Abbassi shockingly instantly calls with  7d  8d.  With a blank turn and  2d for a nasty river, Mr Abbassi is out and Stuart Fox may aswell go and stand for a couple of hours at the bar - in fact he might  ;)

Good Lord, is that the bizarre sound of a 4th elimination I hear? Yes, my ears do not decieve me, as incredibly, we've lost yet another. This time around it's local boy Chris Gavriel, who finalled in the February festival here. No luck this time around, table neighbour Dean Mitchell snipering him off with A-T versus A-9 on an Ace high Flop.

In fact, Mitchell was slightly surprised about the turn of events: "I couldn't believe it," he retold. "I called his raise and bet out on an A-T-rag flop. He moved all-in with A-9 and I called."

The Hewston/Mallu style of play not quite working for Chris this time around, but I'm sure we'll see him back in the fray soon.

Unfortunately for our Liverpudlian followers, Sir George Geary of Grindsville has suffered a shock early exit at the devilish hands of our favourite Super Mario lookalikey Essy Jahanpour, a well known player around these parts.

With Essy raising it up pre-flop with A-Q, a raising war of epic proportions entailed between the two players on a Q-Q-3 ranbow flop: Essy to 300, Geroge to 2,000, Essy to 6,000 and George all-in before Essy called quicker than a hare riding a cheetah on a Japanese bullet train (surreal image, I know, but let's go with it).

George showed Q-9, and two rags later he was a gonna.

I was lucky enough to hear a few half-time stories, one from the ever-consistent Marcus Bebb-Jones who is bouncing up and down like a spring on a trampoline. He first neared the felt when his set of queens was bust on the river by a K-T which made a... ahem, Broadway straight before trebling back up to 8k with 7-5 versus two sets of A-J on a tasty A-5-5 Flop.

The only thing dazzling about dazzlin Tom Smethwick today will be the dazzle of the sun in his eyes as he exits the casino, the veteran exiting at the hands of fellow midlander and "I'm on a good run. Wooooo! Wooooo!" Dave Colclough.

I didn't catch the hand, so I had to rely on the sometimes shaky versions of the rest of the table. With Essy Jahanpour claiming Dave had Js 5s and Burnly John throwing Js Ts into the hat, it wasn't until Julian confirmed it was Js 8s that we finally got some genuine answers. Thinking Mr Thewy was the way forward, I asked what the flop was... ugh, big mistake, the subsequent dialogue exchange between the three feeling more like a group of OAP's trying to remember what film they watched in the nursing home. After a lenghty wait, it was concluded that Con had T-9 and made a straight against Dave's turned flush on a 6-7-x-8 board, all the money going in on the river.

Updater/poker player extra-ordinaire has just been boshed (new word there!) out of today's comp, raising it up pre-flop with A-T pre-flop and being called in three places. The flop doesn't appear to be a bad one for Jen, Td 8d 8s, and she understandably bets out 1k. However, Seat 9 on the button seems to like it even more, and makes it 3k to play, more than enough to get the other players to fold... but not Jen, who after mulling it over for a while and, in her own words, concluding that he "wouldn't have Aces or Kings after smooth calling pre-flop" pushes all-in for her remaining 6k.

Unfortunately for the Hampsteadonian, her opponent was indeed being cute with Kings, and, after a few seconds dwell, did indeed make the call. Jen turned a flush draw, but to no avail as the river came a rag.

"I thought there were many hands he could be making that play with," said a dejected Mason, "the only one I was worried about was Jacks."

I'm doing my utmost to resist the Basil Brush gags here, but I'm not sure I've got it in me, the amusingly named Roger Brush crashing out at the hands of Sir Barry (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=42) Neville (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=42) of Sheffieldness.

All the money went in on a J-7-6 flop, Barry sweeping up is opponent with J-7 versus K-J. No King on the turn and river and Barry had outfoxed Mr Basil and sent him plummeting to the rail with a thud. Boom Boom.

------

Meanwhile, steamroller on testicles time as Ash Hussain re-raises Stuart Fox's button raise all-in with A-Q, only to find Mr Fox sitting pretty with the Big Slick. A 7-8-9-T-J board and several gasps later and 13k was sent sliding over to the sweaty palms of an overjoyed Ash... who, incidetnally, has been nicknamed Trovolta Hussain as a result of his overly slick white jacket.

Keith Swain is also a gonna, his K-2 no match for Mateyboy's Q-T on a K-A-J-2 board.

"I can't believe he called," added a flabbergasted Nick Slade, "There was only a thousand or two in the pot and the guy overbet it by shoving in over 5k. There's only one hand he can have."

Comeback of the evening goes to Michael Artemis who 2 hours ago had 600 chips and is now sitting on a glorious 24k.

We have a couple of sly exits, one being KK held by Nick Slade against the AQ of Andrew Psaras.  It was raise, reraise, all in preflop and Nicks Kings stood the test.

Also no details but Ken Broad is also out.

Matt Tyler is now our chip leader with 45k.

58 players left average is just over 16k.

Eek, scratch that, Mickey Wenick's just been bashed down to the felt by the foreboding fist of Trevor Reardon. A downhearted Worm retold the story himself, reporting of how he went in on a Qc Jc 7c board with Ac Qs, ran into Big TR's set of Jacks and failed to improve.

The very next hand, he shoved all-in for what looked like 1,725, Trevor, fittingly, being the one to fold the big blind and allow the Legend to fight another day.

John Deeley could have been in Martin Scorsese's recent Oscar winning flick, not because he's a double-crossing murderer, but because he's just Departed.

John Deeley = Kc Tc

Dean Mitchell = Aspades Ahrt

all-in on turn of... Ks 9h 5s Ac

River = 7d

And another one bites the dust at the hands of Dean Mitchell. "Those bloody Mitchells!" as they used to say in Eastenders.

----------------

Also out is William Berry, who qualified for this even via last night's £50 rebuy satellite.

And the call of the day award goes to...

That's Mad Turk, just in case nobody got the Catchphrase-esque clue - I thought Yucel Eminoglu might have been a bit tricky.

Anyhow, what a call it was, and one that led to the untimely exit of the far from timid Ken Broad. It was Ken who actually started the action, raising it up to 800 pre-flop and being called in two places, Peter 'The Bandit' Evans and Turk in the blind.

The Flop came    and everyone checked. The turn was the , which led to Turk betting 3k, Ken raising to 7k, Bandit folding and Turk flat calling.

River time, and the dealer popped out a seemingly irrelevant , but it was one in which seemed to trigger an all-in from Broad for 14k after the Mad Turk had checked.

Think tank time, but Turk eventually made a truly class call for all but 1.5k of his chips with Pocket Fives, catching his opponent and his Big Slick with fingers firmly clinging onto the side of the cookie jar.

Could anyone else have called that? I told Yucel I would have made the call easy peasy, and a few seconds quicker than him (cough).

There has been a flurry of exits the last 15 mins.  After Mickey Wernick went down to 2.5k, he called a small raise with  8d  6d against Ram Lakha.  The flop came:

Qd  Ts  2d  all the chips went in from Mickey with his flush draw but Lakha called with  Ks  Qh for top pair and no improvement for Mickey meant his exit.

Lakha is the small stack annihilator also disposing of K Vasilliou's  Aspades  Kd with a mighty  6c 6h.

Another casualty is Peter "the bandit" Evans but sorry neither of us saw his exit happen.

We have 52 left on an average of 18,500.

Short break and 200 / 400 on their return.

We lost A Pearce no thanks to Julian Thew.  Julian made up a raise with   Jd  Qd the flop was 9 high but with 2 diamonds.  Julian bet out 2k and young Pearce went all in for his remaining 6k with  Jc Jh.  Jules called the outstanding 4k and golden round things hit a diamond on the river.  To quote Mr Thew "If I knew how much the lad had left, I would have check raised instead of betting out 2k."

Also sorry to Peter Evans, he is not out at all but just went for brisk walk earlier.  I'm gonna blame the card room manager for this but of info but in the same sentence gonna praise him highly for getting me and snoops FREE baguettes because i sniffly told me we missed the buffet earlier!!!

Peter Evans is actually out now and very cruelly so too.  I caught it when Peter had gone all in on this board:

 6s   4d 9h  8d

Ram Lakha dwelled but called with   7s  7h against Peter's flopped set  9s 9c

The river was the cruel  Tc and Lakha improves his stack.

47 left average 28,000

Steve Jelinek's out the door too, getting it all-in with K-T (straight draw), but being picked off by Tony Cartwright's A-Q on a Queen high board. The cheeky monkey had checked his top pair on the flop.

Stuart Fox takes a hit with his AQ v KK all in preflop, no ace came and he was left with 7.5k.  Five minutes later, Stuart not happy to sit with his 7.5k he got it all in with AJ this time against 10 10, no help for Stuart and he is now OUT.

With Stuart Fox recently hitting the deck, he is soon joined by mischevious running buddy Peter Haslam, the young whipper snapper getting his shortstack in with Pocket Jacks, but running into the... cue Chris de Burgh... "Laaaaaaaadies in Red" of R Simmonds which stood up effortlessly on a 5-4-A-8-5 board.

Greek Jack is out at the hands of Welsh Dave.  Jack starts with 12k and raises it up, Dave makes a huge reraise something like 22k, everyone passes and Jack goes all for the remainder of his chips.  On their backs and Jack shows JJ and Dave shows AQ, a Queen flops and Jack is a gonna.  Here are some chip counts from that actual table.

Dan Carter and his short stack is now out.  Matey boy in mid position raises it to 2,200, another chappy makes the call and Dan on the button pushes for 7,300.  Matey 1 folds and chappy instacalls with  Kc Kh

As I spot Ronny Kotecha on the cash tables, thus, I assume, meaning he is long gone, I hear a boyant, uncharacteristic scream of delight come protruding from the other side of the room.

"COOOOOOOOOME OOOOOOOON!" screams Burnley John, his all-in with Kings versus El Blondie's A-K surviving a 9-8-2-9-J board.

I don't where exactly he wanted us to go, but I was doing whatever he said. I've never been that scared before!

As I meander over to the adopted TV table I'm just in time to see shortie G Morris push for his last 3,600.  There was one caller but DC would not allow it and reraised another 10k.  Matey passes and its on their backs.

DC  Js Jh
G Morris   2s 4s

Board is a sad state of affairs for the lad Morris

 6c  6h  2h  4c  5d

He out and Dave adds more to his ever growing stack.

Colclough raised it up to 3.2k from the button, and swiftly called with Ac Qh when Wilko pushed for circa 7.5k with Tc Ts.

His head bowed down in the strange posture that only Dave adopts, El Blondie looked on curiously as the dealer popped out a clinical 4s Th 7h.

Wilkinson, now standing in anticipation, looked relieved, but there was a slight moment of panic when the Turn came a 4h, but it soon dawned on the Midlander that he'd made a full house and had his opponent drawing dead.

-----------------------

The shiny headed but very amicable Marcus Bebb-Jones is also gone. He's one of the Midlands' most consistent performers, but he's going to have to wait till next time to cash in a Broadway Main Event, his swan song being A-9 (button) versus Matt (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=274) Tyler (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=274)'s Pocket Cowboys (yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, ride em cowboy!) in the small blind.

"Took ages with those kings," reported Slade. "He still had the big blind behind him though, so we'll let him off."

Some stuff thats gone down, Rob S thought it would be grand to double up Alli Mallu (well not really, but I bet he regrets it in the end).  KQ but Alli pushes with K9 and hits his 9.

Michelle Sheils is out, her  8d 8c was looking good on a  3h 4d 6c flop, she went all in for her last 5k and was called by  Ahrt  Jh who rivered an ACE - ouch.

Nick Slade is out too, Michael Artemis limps for 800 and Nick raises to 5k with his  Ks Kh.  Artemis calls with  Ahrt 7s, after the flop Nick moves all in for 4k more and Artemis having already hit his ace calls and Nick is OUT.

JUST caught this clash of the titans.  Dave C raised preflop to 2,200 and was called by Barry Neville & Julian.   THe flop was

 7s  6s  8d

Julian bets out 4.5k and Dave reraises another 15k, Barry gets out of the way and Julian moved all in - Dave called and they turned over the following hands:

DC   Aspades  Ts
JT   Qd  9h

Turn   5h

River  8d

Julian had Dave covered and pull in a massive pot worth nearly 100k.  Dave Colcough OUT

Just before I compiled those chip counts, Mojid Khan doubled up with the bullets (bang bang!  ;snoopy'sguns;) against Ben Callinan's somewhat pale in comparision K-2 suited. That initially paltry hand soon got Mojid shaking his head in fear though when the first card out was a 2, but a6-8-9-4 rainbow board later and Mojid could finally exhale and scoop up those 25.3k in chips.

Mad Turk has been made even madder recently, his A-Q busted by Barry Neville's A-J, the Knave on the river causing the normally jester-like Turk to bang the table in disgust and mumble under his breath for a good few minutes after. Turk now has just over 10k.

At the last minute, Golden Jules knocks out Barry (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=42) Neville (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=42).  To prove that even Julian gets hands sometimes, he raised it up with AA but Big Bazza was unlucky to find AJ on the button and moved in.  No help for Barry tho and he a gonna.

Barry Neville wasn't the only one to take a late dip in the shower, Walsall regular Ben Callinan also receiving a bitter taste of dust. All-in with Queens versus Matt Tyler's A-K, Ben's coin was buttered the wrong side as it fell Big Slick up, the board bringing a Js 4h KS 7s 3h to send Benwoo to the sidelines.

With only 20 mins left of the night, people seam to be in double or bust mode.  Matt (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=274) Tyler (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=274) knocks out Frankie (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=143) Knight (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=143) and when I ask Matt what happened he says "he was bloody at it."  In reality Frankie was very low and raised with  9h  7h but Matt decided he would be pushed off with a reraise from his  4s 2h.  Frankie was not pushed off but went all in and didnt see the board but poor Frankie is on the motorway at the moment.
