Title: One Camel For Hire... Amsterdam
Post by: The Camel on October 20, 2005, 03:15:57 PM
I better put my hard hat on before posting this, after the shellacking Mel got for asking if anyone wanted to buy a piece of her in a tournament.

Anyway... here goes.

I am going to make my official comeback to live poker a the Masterclassics at Amsterdam in a couple of weeks.

Now I have got an extra responsibility, I can't go round playing five grand comps willy nilly so I was wondering if anyone faniced throwing away a bit of of dosh by buying a piece of me in the main event.

I would need a small premium to help cover expenses but those nice people at Holland Casinos are adding 45,000 Euros so that hopefully would make up for my premium.

I am looking to sell 8% for 500 Euros or pro rata.

Feel free to flame or take the piss out of me.

Or if you're interested PM me or email me at thehawk67@hotmail.com

Cheers,

Keith

For the avoidance of doubt.........

Keith alludes to the furore that arose when LondonPokerGirl sought to sell shares in herself. At that time, we had an agitator on board, & the atmo on here was a bit rough. The flaming she got should never have happened, & I apologised to her. That's not to say I agree OR disagree witrh selling shares - that's got niothing to do with it.

Keith wrote to me yesterday & asked permission to post it, bearing in mind the probs that arose last time. I said "fine, post away", though, to my embarrassment, I forgot to consult with the Mods first.

Keith can look after himself. I did advise him that if any personal flaming arose - as it did in Mel's case - we'd edit or delete as we saw fit.

But lets not get silly about this - you CAN criticise Keith, if you if so wish, as much as you want, even though I hope you don't. But just keep it civil. That's all it amounts to, we have no problem with lively debate. Have a good cut & thrust debate by all means, but I wanna kiss before we go to bed.

I will NOT be buying any action in Keith, by the way, I generally don't buy action in anyone unless I get co-erced in to doing it, or for a special buddy. But he does have a good record in 'Dam.

Are you selling max 8%? What is the prize for 1st? And what placing do you think would be required for an investor to get a return and out of how many runners?

Ace,

I'm looking to sell around 40%.

My best guess is it will nearly sell out at 270 runners.

They will pay 3 tables or 27 places.

The third last table will get their 5k back. This money is the 45k Holland casinos add.

Then the money is divided between the remaining 18 players.

16-18th 0.8% 13-15th 1% 10-12th 1.2% 9th 1.5% 8th 2% 7th 2.5% 6th 3.5% 5th 5% 4th 6.5% 3rd 10% 2nd 20% 1st 40%

James,

Yes, I didn't really make it clear in my original post, it's a 5000 Euro event. (How do I type the euro sign that's next to the four on my keyboard?)

8% is 500E.

Cheers,

Keith

I think the difference here is that buying shares in the Camel at theses rates is value.

Keith, do you try and qualify for tournaments like these via online satellites?  Just wondering what your position on the satellites is?

Marcro,

I often do try and qualify for big events in satellites online. And usually I am spectacularly unsuccessful.

Last year I spent $15,000 trying to win a seat for the pokerstars Bahamas bash. And failed.

I hate super satellites with a passion, to me they defeat the object of poker tournaments which is to win all the chips! Plus they encourage slow play, stalling and collusion.

All in all I think they are horrid.

Well, there's one born every minute.

I managed to sell all the shares I wanted to get rid of.

Thanks to everyone who showed faith in my ability, hope it is rewarded!
