Post by: Robert HM on September 28, 2007, 08:52:52 PM MS_DOS stands for Microsoft Disk Operating System. It's the building blocks that run the machine, Windows is just an easy way to use it.
I can only assume that a Dos window is opening to run the task and then closing when it is completed. I am not sure if Vista has this but see if you can open a Dos window THEN use the ipconfig command. Disclaimer, I'm very much an amateur, others are more likely to give better help.
