Title: More Car Help
Post by: Jedwick on October 01, 2007, 03:14:14 PM
I've just smashed into a kerb quite fast and am a bit shook up, but i got my car home but the steering wheel was shaking all the way home, i looked at the wheel and there was a big dent in it so hopefully the shaking is just the wheel being a bit wonky but i was hoping someone might be able to tell me if thats a sign for anything else wrong?

cheers

take it to a place like ATS immediately when you next need to drive and check not just the wheel itself but the tracking alignment.

yeah

ut tracking is almost definitely away

and possibly a cv joint

worse case scenario is your wheel falls off

Would it be fair to say if you sat by your car like in your photo (assuming thats you), tonight, you would not be smiling as per pic??

Possible: New wheel, new streering rod arm, geometry check.

A decent geometry check where someone knows what they are doing is getting on for £100. You can get your tracking done for £30. You get what you pay for. If you go for a proper check then they will tell you if your wheel is buckled and if the steering arm or anything else is bent.

Find a large pothole in a road and advise the local council to pay for the damage they caused to your car.
