Title: BASH FOOTBALL INFORMATION FOR PLAYERS AND SPECTATORS
Post by: turny on October 08, 2007, 04:01:00 PM

The BB5 6 aside football tournament venue has been confirmed, it will take place at 11am on saturday 13th october 2007 at the venue below:

Powerleague Cardiff
Manor Way
Cardiff
CF14 1RF

telephone: 02920629970

costings will be £20 a team payable to me by the captains regardless if there team shows up or not!

welsh to wear red, northerners white, ladies black and softies probably green

for more details on venue etc and for directions please visit there website at www.powerleague.co.uk/5-A-Side/center.asp?CID=CAR

the tournament will be on a league basis with all 4 teams playing each other once which means each team will play 3 matches.

teams will recieve 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a defeat.

if at the end of the tournament 2 teams have the same amount of points at the top of the table then the result between the 2 teams will decide the winner, if still level then goal difference will decide and then if still level goals scored will decide the winner.

if still level we have a ruck "royal rumble" style with the last person standings team being declared the winner!

each match will be 16 minutes long and will be a straight one half.

each team must only have 6 players on the pitch at any one time.

substitutions will be roll on roll off but must only be made when the ball is dead and the referee must be made aware of changes.

the ball must be kept under head height at all times, under head height is defined as under the referees height. failure to do so is punished by a free kick to the opposition

all free kicks are direct and any wall must be at least 6 feet away

goalkeepers must only roll out the ball underarm, no overarm throw or kicking out.

no players are allowed in either penalty area and neither goalkeeper is allowed out of there area.

if an attacker deliberatly goes in the area its punished with a free kick  to the defending side which is taken by the goalkeeper by way of a roll out.

if a defender deliberatly goes in his own area it is punished by an award of a penalty to the opposition.

all free kicks are direct and any wall must be at least 6 feet away.

matches will be start with a drop ball and restarts after a goal will be via a centre.

no slide tackles allowed

players must only wear trainers or astro turf trainers, no boots moulded or otherwise.

shinpads are recommended but not compulsary as are cricket boxes (a good idea when playing the ladies team guys)

From the M4
Leave the M4 at Junction 32, signposted Cardiff (N), then at roundabout to the exit signposted A470, continue on this road until you pass Whitchurch Golf Club on your left, then at the traffic lights turn left into Tyn-Y-Parc Road. Continue up road until you reach the traffic lights, then turn right onto Pont Bach Road, take the 2nd right onto Cae Gwyn Road then at the traffic lights turn right, back onto the A470 and then turn left into Powerleague.

From the City Centre
Take the A470 signposted Newport / Bridge End, then just after the Whitchurch Lower School turn left into Powerleague.

Basically its on the other side of cardiff from the future inn, but it should only take 10/15 minutes by car.

i assume your joking but will answer anyway just in case.

its the semi circle area around each goal.

Ummmmmm, nope.  Wasn't joking.  So NOBODY but the goal keeper is allowed in that wee area, right?  And we're not allowed to give a proper kick of the ball...no launching it to the other end?  Hmmmmmm, have to print out those rules and re-evaluate our game plan.  Hope Ironside has his thinking cap on.

You don't even want to know what my next question was...trust me.  Luckily I managed the answer all on me own.   ;noflopshomer;

And we're not allowed to give a proper kick of the ball...no launching it to the other end?

You can give it a proper kick from one end to the other but it just cant go above head height - "low and hard" is the technical footballing jargon ;)

p.s. meet BB5's guest referee.........
