I am not a tennis fan really, and not a tennis gambler but its eye opening stuff

I suppose in any 1 on 1 sport the risks are high eg Snooker..but are they higher than the risk of corruption in team sports?

its just easier to disguise in a 1 on 1 confrontation that it is in a team sport - everybody has "off days".

whilst there is betting on a sport regardless of what it is, be it 1 on 1 or team then there will always be corruption of some sorts.

proving it is a different kettle of fish all together :D

Tennis and snooker both share the characteristics of one-on-one sports in which matches of hundreds and hundreds of shots are decided by what happens in fewer than a dozen. Therefore someone can deliberately mess up the crucial shots and they will get lost in the vast majority of shots in which they can play to the standard expected of them.

I wouldn't bet on low-prize money darts matches for exactly the same reason.

all one on one sports have bent matches, as said before it's just to easy to do and the returns far out way potential prize money lost.

early rounds of snooker tournaments are particularly abuseable and matches are thrown on a reasonably regular basis

Bet on Federer.

(unless it's the French Open final against Nadal)

The match fixing obviously goes on, but i've always managed to make a good profit in tennis so not overly concerned. Is easier to disguise as apart from the top guys all the others beat each other regularly.

Or a tourney he doesn't give a monkeys about, like the time Murray beat him - some Masters event or something like that.  If the Feds don't want it, don't bet on him.
