Title: Re: what's GOOD about Notts gala? Post by: redsimon on October 21, 2005, 08:50:39 PM cause i am going to be there on the 6th 1. If you go Sunday night you get house dealers. Turn up 2pm and stay all day £30 f/out follwed by £50+£5 PLHE rebuy. 2. Tuesday early start NLHE has some very weak/soft players in it. 3. 99% of players are OK. 4. If you want to save money on ciggies you get plenty of second hand smoke. (runs for cover, incoming from Nighfly on its way) :D Seriously, its alright. I only go rarely 'cos of work plus smoke really does make me ill for days after. Title: Re: what's GOOD about Notts gala? Post by: tikay on October 21, 2005, 08:54:17 PM Best cardroom - as far as layout, it's "self contained", away from the gaming area" - in the UK.
Good gang there. Easy money - Thewy & Junior play there lot. Title: Re: what's GOOD about Notts gala? Post by: Chili on October 21, 2005, 10:59:42 PM HEY, and me
Title: Re: what's GOOD about Notts gala? Post by: tikay on October 21, 2005, 11:53:04 PM Oh yeah - more easy money.
Title: Re: what's GOOD about Notts gala? Post by: M POWER on October 21, 2005, 11:59:03 PM And I play there Too

Post by: Karabiner on October 22, 2005, 12:15:30 AM And Nightfly is a top geezer (even with one of his hands tied behind his back by management policy) But Sunday evenings when house dealers are supplied is the best night IMO Title: Re: what's GOOD about Notts gala? Post by: Ironside on October 22, 2005, 12:16:27 AM ah another reason to play there is karabiner doesnt ;D
Title: Re: what's GOOD about Notts gala? Post by: M POWER on October 22, 2005, 12:31:14 AM Yes Karabiner I think Nightfly IS a top geezer he does try, care and takes pride, however he/gala are still is too soft on the thugs and there will be still thugs and bully's and yobs at Nottingham unless he gets support from the managers. Gala group office is 1/4 of a mile away and nothing is done to protect customers and employees. One thing is clear Gala don't care about customers or staff unless it's just Nottingham that has a very weak managment team.

not sure whether that's good or bad but hey, never a dull moment.... Title: Re: what's GOOD about Notts gala? Post by: AdamM on October 22, 2005, 12:53:25 PM It's the closest one to my house.
Title: Re: what's GOOD about Notts gala? Post by: DTD-Nick.W on October 22, 2005, 12:54:11 PM A lot of good players have come out of Nottingham, its a bit daunting the first few times you go but after that its ok.
The smoking is terrible you do feel like you done a pack of 20 when you leave but its still no reason not to go. Rob does a great job and as Karabina says Sundays are the best, i only go For tht £50 and the freeze outs. Food and Valet service is a little less impresive but hey. Its worth a look. Post by: Junior Senior on October 23, 2005, 05:54:30 PM if you want to smell like an ash tray from the moment you set foot in the place then its the venue for you!
I am sorry to keep going on about this but i am starting to really not enjoy my nights down there - its stuffy and makes your clothes stink. Even the smokers want smoking banned at the table so whats the delay all about?? - get it stopped. Title: Re: what's GOOD about Notts gala? Even as a smoker I find the card room at notts over top. I for one would be quite happy if they banned smoking! Ill not be back That would have happened at any casino in the UK. By signing someone in to a casino you are in fact vouching for them and taking responsibility for their behavour. Now that the gaming laws have been modified that problem may not now exist. |
