Title: AK from mid position in donkament Post by: pswnio on October 23, 2007, 01:11:39 PM First level, blinds 50/100. Stack sizes: UTG + 1 has 3000, you have 4500.
UTG + 1 limps. You've only just come to the table and seen one hand which she took at the showdown with a donk/world class call. Suspect donk, even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day. You have AK in mid position and jack it up to 550. Flop comes 779 rainbow. She bets 550 into pot of 1150. Do you fold like a girl, call like a fish or raise like a lunatic? Title: Re: AK from mid position in donkament Post by: Graham C on October 23, 2007, 01:58:18 PM Just fold, you're easily behind and there will be plenty of opportunity to get the chips.
550 is a pretty big raise though isn't it? Title: Re: AK from mid position in donkament Post by: pswnio on October 23, 2007, 03:12:36 PM I think I probably am behind. I'd like to know to what, though.
The sizeable raise is because it's a donkament and I don't want to be facing 4 post flop. I don't want someone calling with KQ and someone else feeling they're priced in with their connector. You have AK and dont want calls from KQ???? I'm fine with KQ calling me. But too many times in these tournaments a reraise will attract one nutter caller and then a couple more hoping to get paid off with suited connectors. Title: Re: AK from mid position in donkament Post by: celtic on October 25, 2007, 12:52:51 AM still a bit high. 550 to win 250. I bet 350 here.
Title: Re: AK from mid position in donkament Post by: the sicilian on October 25, 2007, 03:41:57 AM u can make several plays here all have merits..if im feeling frisky i call with position and see what she does on the turn..if a blank comes and she checks weakly then ill bet...if shes as inexperienced as indicated and she doesnt have much of a hand shed be hard pushed to fire a 2nd bullett..ive also got overcards i can possibly hit...... maybe even re raise to find out for definate where you are as she may be overvaluing a small pair here ...if shes got a monster ur soon find out !!!.
But folding is good to...depends if youre playing poker and your opponent or playing the cards in front of you Title: Re: AK from mid position in donkament Post by: TheChipPrince on October 25, 2007, 01:02:11 PM Fold, on first level if you dont hit the flop, fold, no shame in it...

Title: Re: AK from mid position in donkament Post by: Ironside on October 26, 2007, 03:33:59 AM fold from me all you have is ace high
if she is a donk what is she raising with that your beating? and if she has already made a donk call she is more than likely to call your reraise get out now while yo have so little involved Title: Re: AK from mid position in donkament Post by: Laxie on October 26, 2007, 11:28:53 AM Sooooooooo...what happened?
Title: Re: AK from mid position in donkament Post by: steeveg on October 26, 2007, 02:36:16 PM to big of a p/f raise for me to make first level, think donk has put you on ak, and may have small pp and hoped to see a low flop, now there wanting to see if you re raise,if you dont i would put you on ak or small pp ,but either way your behind ,donk could of flopped anything or semi bluffing, best to fold you havent got a hand and could be way behind
