I checked OOP on the turn despite hitting top set because I am against two opponents, connected and now flushing board, and I've been called in two spots on the flop I intended when checking to check call and get to river cheaply, rather than bet out, and face heat. What line should I be using on the turn here please, both first to act and then having checked facing a bet...? both opponents are plain vanilla, steady types ty Title: Re: KK OOP Multi Way Connected Board Post by: byronkincaid on October 29, 2007, 12:26:57 PM i would check flop bet turn. as played call turn hit full house
Title: Re: KK OOP Multi Way Connected Board Post by: snoopy1239 on October 29, 2007, 12:40:06 PM You have telegraphed the strength of your hand pre-flop, so on that Flop, I would probably call your bet whatever two cards I have. Therefore, I would go for a check-raise to induce a bet from one of your opponents. Raise enough so they can't call with the open-ended, and you should get a better idea of where you stand, plus it'll probably be a lot cheaper then betting the flop and check-calling the turn and river.
As it stands, check-calling the turn and then making your mind up on the river is probably the best way forward. You can't fold at this point, as a full house on the river could clean out an opponent. Title: Re: KK OOP Multi Way Connected Board Post by: Graham C on October 29, 2007, 01:00:18 PM I'd check call here too. If you hit the FH, then it's all steam ahead, but I can't fold in this situation.
Title: Re: KK OOP Multi Way Connected Board Post by: The_duke on October 29, 2007, 01:34:32 PM I think (and thats not often) that he (having bet $60 into a $252 pot) is inticing a call having filled the nut flush (why call u pre and post flop other than with two high hearts -- or pair and has a smaller set and could be looking to see where he stands--) call his pissy bet and batter the shiite out of him if you fill.......
Title: Re: KK OOP Multi Way Connected Board Post by: temp0r on October 29, 2007, 05:31:02 PM if the guy who bets the turn DOES have the nut flush already then you have to call because he has over $500 or so back and will probably stack off to you on the river if you house up (given his weak preflop play).

toJongbraNdon folds *** RIVER *** 6h 7c 8h Kh Ahrt Hero checks, having not housed up To check fold? To call a value bet? Or should I have block bet? Title: Re: KK OOP Multi Way Connected Board Post by: Graham C on October 29, 2007, 09:11:01 PM eugh, can't get any worse. I think I'd have to fold to any decent bet. If it's around 1/4 of the pot, I may call but it's a crappy board
Title: Re: KK OOP Multi Way Connected Board Post by: M3boy on October 29, 2007, 09:30:44 PM The A Hearts is THE best card for you (apart from the board pairing up or the K obviously).
I would stick out a block bet - maybe he lays down a baby flush now Title: Re: KK OOP Multi Way Connected Board Post by: AlexMartin on October 29, 2007, 10:14:35 PM The A Hearts is THE best card for you (apart from the board pairing up or the K obviously). Title: Re: KK OOP Multi Way Connected Board Post by: doubleup on October 29, 2007, 10:39:01 PM The A Hearts is THE best card for you (apart from the board pairing up or the K obviously). I would stick out a block bet - maybe he lays down a baby flush now He never lays down a flush to a blocker. I'm not sure the ace is the best card for bluffing - there are a lot more hands that we would raise from oop that contain the ace of hearts than the queen of hearts. What hand do we call the turn with? I suppose QxQh is possible - but if we are representing that we would have to bet much more on the riv than a blocker. Title: Re: KK OOP Multi Way Connected Board Post by: snoopy1239 on October 30, 2007, 12:26:27 AM I'm giving this up, he could easily have Queen high flush, say Qh 9h. Also, online, many players will still call with the weaker flush. For weak players, they don't like to fold after making their hand, especially to a small block bet, whilst strong players will detect the bluff, mainly because you haven't really represented a Queen high flush throughout the hand. Qh Jh is a minor possibility, but if you bet this, and I was sitting with any kind of flush, I would call like lightning.
I check hoping he had a smaller set and checks behind me. For some reason though, I get the feeling that you're going to tell us that he flopped the straight. I assume that if he plays his hand strongly on the flop, you are folding. You should be thankful for the lucky turn card. He'd have to be terrible to get stacked on that board with close to 200BB.
