Title: custom picture frames - any recommendations? Post by: Claw75 on November 08, 2007, 11:31:01 AM I need to get hold of a custom made frame for a (larger than I realised) print that I've bought. Nothing fancy, just a clip frame will do. I've been doing a bit of scouting round the world wide web and the choices seem pretty limited, not to mention expensive.
Thought I would ask the good people of blonde if they could recommend any websites/shops for this kind of thing, otherwise the scissors might have to come out! Cheers Title: Re: custom picture frames - any recommendations? Post by: kinboshi on November 08, 2007, 11:56:17 AM size?

Post by: Graham C on November 08, 2007, 12:13:01 PM Custom made frames are expensive. I had to ask about one once for a print I bought, probably not far off your size actually. Anyway, it was about £90 to do the job. Needless to say I didn't bother.
I know a picture framer too, but he isn't cheap either. Title: Re: custom picture frames - any recommendations? Post by: Claw75 on November 08, 2007, 12:14:52 PM Custom made frames are expensive. I know a picture framer too, but he isn't cheap either. yeah £84 is around the best i can find atm. I can pick up a 100x50 frame in Hobbycraft for just over £20, so it's tempting just to cut some of it off to be honest. Thought about just sticking it up with blu tack as well, but the paper is too thick really :( Title: Re: custom picture frames - any recommendations? Post by: kinboshi on November 08, 2007, 12:32:18 PM That's quite big. Title: Re: custom picture frames - any recommendations? Post by: Jon MW on November 08, 2007, 12:36:01 PM My friend is an artist, she has complained frequently in the past about how much framing her pictures adds to their cost.
But I've sent her a text asking her if she has any suggestions for the cheaper end of the framing market. She is however, very scatter brained, so I might not get a reply for about a fortnight :) Title: Re: custom picture frames - any recommendations? Cheers Go to B&Q, buy a sheet of perspex that they'll cut to size for you. Screw that to the wall with the print behind it (careful when you drill the holes that the perspex doesn't crack) and cover the end of the screws with some nice screw caps. Sorted. For about a tenner. Title: Re: custom picture frames - any recommendations? Post by: Claw75 on November 08, 2007, 01:55:26 PM Step away from the power tools... too right - i've only been there a few weeks and I've already got several random holes drilled in the walls. Maybe you could do it for me when we have the luckbox convention?   Title: Re: custom picture frames - any recommendations?
