Title: Poker Adverts on TV Post by: Rooky9 on November 08, 2007, 09:04:16 PM Just seen the Full Tilt.net advert on channel 5 - the first time I've noticed a poker site have a proper advert.
Is it right? Will it be effective? Title: Re: Poker Adverts on TV Post by: jizzemm on November 08, 2007, 09:07:51 PM Im not sure.
I think it might work for new poker players, but how many are still left out there god knows. I think most players have their sites and just play where they are happy.. I think most players have their sites and just play where they are happy.. I used to think this too, but then Jen Mason reminded me that 'every minute a young boy somewhere turns 18'. Its true, there are millions of people out there who are just about to give online poker a try. I've not seen the adverts, what are they like? Title: Re: Poker Adverts on TV Post by: kinboshi on November 09, 2007, 11:08:54 AM Better than the bingo ones!
The FullTilt ones are actually fairly well done. They seem to be aiming at switching existing players to FT rather than aiming at complete newbies (but I could be wrong). The laughable bit is that they promote the .net site, the play money one - and even have a disclaimer that it's not a real money site. Title: Re: Poker Adverts on TV Post by: steeveg on November 09, 2007, 11:34:03 AM no ,dont think full tilt will attract as many new english players as it could,as its not easy to deposit money for the first time when you open up your poker account, same with a few other sites you have to open up a bank account with someone you would never would deal with, so i think a lot of new players will be put off and just move on to the most conveniant site to deposit, which are mostly bookmaker sites in this country.

I think that this is to get around the ban on advertising by non-eu gambling sites and if so I'm surprised that they can get away with it. It has been MY decision to play on 'Stars & FT these past couple of weeks.... |
