Title: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: Ironside on November 09, 2007, 10:48:26 AM playing a team i have to beat if i want to avoid a play off
i have a full team out there although my 17 year old trainee bowler was only invogorated PFL he has taken the first wicket hoping to win today and next week to give me a chance of avoiding a playoff Title: Battrick OD 9/11 Post by: Bongo on November 09, 2007, 10:49:38 AM I'm playing a team I have never beaten before, although I came close last season when I hit 333 on TIE!
My team has improved a lot since then though, and theirs hasn't. Their PFL is also shot, so hoping for a nice win. Started well, my £1.8m bowler has taken his first wicket for me, and they are 16-1 from 5. Title: Re: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: amcgrath1uk on November 09, 2007, 10:52:09 AM Home BOT bash for me
49-0 from 5. Title: Re: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: Bazzaboy on November 09, 2007, 11:21:32 AM I have put out an abomination of a side today against the league leaders due to PFL problems. I put in a series of bids for crap bowlers last night before I went to bed but incredibly I was outbid on all but one of them so I have batsmen bowling. I hoped to win the toss and bat and get it over quickly but they are batting and I'm fearful of the score they will make.
Title: Re: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: KeithyB on November 09, 2007, 11:37:39 AM Put out a weakened, but fairly fit, side and told them to take it easy.
However I'm playing a bot........so about to bat now needing 14 to win! ::) Title: Re: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: Ironside on November 09, 2007, 11:49:09 AM End of Over 20: 73-4, runrate=3.65
Zia 5-1-11-2 Floors* 0 (4 balls) Cartwright 28 (41 balls) very happy with that so off to bed for a couple of hours its a seamers pitch so hopefully get him out for about 130-150 with my all seam attack then its down to my batsmen who should be able to bat long enough to score the runs Title: Re: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: booder on November 09, 2007, 12:49:42 PM bowled them out for 43..........easy 10 wicket victory
Title: Re: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: amcgrath1uk on November 09, 2007, 12:58:01 PM batting 1st vs a BOT to get some much needed NRR boost
Currently 317-1 from 39 overs Title: Re: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: amcgrath1uk on November 09, 2007, 01:40:29 PM Think I'm happy with my BOT bash
End of Over 50: 410-1, runrate=8.20 Hoult 10-0-71-0 Ludlam* 167 (133 balls) Hickey 77 (56 balls) Last Wicket: Makhanda c. James b. Corry 147 (FOW: 268/1) Title: Re: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: Bazzaboy on November 09, 2007, 01:43:02 PM They made 348-2. Probably a 300+ run defeat for me.
Title: Re: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: divaflava on November 09, 2007, 02:29:03 PM A bot well bashed. Me 404-2, them 13-10.
Title: Re: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: Bongo on November 09, 2007, 02:42:16 PM I put the batsman I bought for £500k a few weeks back up for sale at a speculative £1million. I have a bid on him...
So now I need a new batsman too! Title: Re: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: amcgrath1uk on November 09, 2007, 03:03:57 PM won by nearly 400 runs
2nd place defeated so 8 points clear! Title: Re: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: Bazzaboy on November 09, 2007, 03:42:13 PM I lost by 247 runs.
Title: Re: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: Bongo on November 09, 2007, 03:53:47 PM It's getting to the point now where I wish my opponent scored a few more runs so both my bats could get a ton, it looks highly likely now that one will get there with the other on 95+ not out! :(
Title: Re: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: Bongo on November 09, 2007, 04:05:22 PM 106 not out and 97 not out.
rigged! Title: Re: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: matt674 on November 09, 2007, 04:30:54 PM And that's the end of the match. Matts Monkeys won by 140 runs.
Matts Monkeys 369-6 Dannys Champ 229-10 Thought todays game would be a close one. We are marginally better on paper than todays opponents but both myself and my opponent had had a couple of defeats recently. However i soon realized that my opponents PFL are shot to pieces and only one of his 5 bowlers was invigorated or better. Thankfully i've learned recently that i need to rotate my players as it does seem PFL's do have a very big outcome on the result and so todays win was a lot more comfortable than first indications. Title: Re: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: Wardonkey on November 09, 2007, 05:01:26 PM Nice one Ram!
The Ponies, incredibly, are also top of thier one-day league! Title: Re: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: Bongo on November 09, 2007, 05:06:50 PM PFL is very important.
The guy who finished 1st in my league last year (losing only 1 game in the season) hasn't realised this and has so far managed to lose 5 games, beating only a bot and someone who hasn't logged in! Title: Re: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: amcgrath1uk on November 09, 2007, 05:11:25 PM 8 points clear in my OD league
26 points clear in my FC league Well on track for a double promotion, with a ground expansion on the way ( 81k gate receipts for today's game) which is my highest so far, with a pretty full ground. PFL is exceptionally important. Rotation is the key, and thankfully, due to BOTs, I can do that quite comfortably. Title: Re: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: Bazzaboy on November 09, 2007, 05:30:47 PM PFL is very important. Very true!! I'd advise anyone against using GFI unless its absolutely necessary or you have a big squad (says he who did it and has a squad of 15 :D ) Title: Re: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: Ironside on November 09, 2007, 05:46:29 PM i GFI every friday but play a different team during the week
Title: Re: batrrick OD 9/11 Post by: Nakor on November 09, 2007, 07:04:29 PM we are top of the league we are top of the leage. another great game nakor always push me to the limit My two star players just didn't perform :( But Rowe-Francis didn't destroy me so some progress from last year. I will miss you when you get promoted Ram. I will do my best to help. All the best. Good game well played as ever. |
