Post by: HOLDorFOLD on November 11, 2007, 11:02:29 PM This is so weird, we're currently re-decorating and pulled up the corner of the carpet to see how good the underlay is and discovered we have original parquet flooring WOOHOO complete with border and everything. So excited.
Other half been trawling 'wood floor care' websites for ages since lol. Wow, loads to do, remove old wax (if) applicable, sand down, fix any loose blocks, varnish - convinced Sam that it would be better to get a company in to do the lot - may have to coincide it with a weekend away and leave keys with my mum hahahahahahahahaha Title: Re: Have you ever sanded floorboards? Bugger of a job as well. yeah i hired the stuff but there was some sort of stain or something (whatever it was it was invented by satan and applied by sadists) on them and it jsut turned to a sticky goo and made the bands of sandpaper useless after about 30 secs. If you can get someone else to do it i would highly recommend it. From what we saw it may well be Virgin flooring.
