Title: Shopping for an iPhone
Post by: GlasgowBandit on November 13, 2007, 07:21:33 PM
Arrggh how fecking hard can it be to get a phone?

My old dear is going to buy me the iPhone for Christmas, she was buying me a new iPod as mines is dead and gone to iPod heaven.  Anyway she went out on Sunday to purchase said phone, the guy in the shop told her I had to be there because the phone was going to be in my name blah blah blah.  Anyway I was stuck in bet with a rotten hangover so never made it out.

Last night I come home from work and went onto o2 website, now to me it looked like when i was reading the info that you have to shell out £270 for the phone and then wait on it arriving, go to the hassle of registering for iTunes and registering the phone and only then will they give you a contract, but thats not guaranteed

Seems weird eh?  So I phoned them last night just to make sure, I was transferred 3 times and then I got cut off - its no wonder peole hate calling call centres, and this one wasn't even outsourced toany other country the guy I spoke to was from England, he was sh!t on the phone to be honest his patter was terrible and his customer skills very poor, I swear if he was in my team I'd have him sacked :)  Anyway after 14 minutes on the phone to this muppet he says do you have your credit card details to hand to pay for the phone, urrgh I phoned to ask if i would get the contract you nob says I, well I never called him a nob but came close to it.  Oh err well em you need to buy the phone first, I wasn't best pleased I outlined my reason for phoning quite clearly at beginning of the call.

Anyway, I never had enough money on my credit card to pay over the phone last night so I said can I go into a shop and buy this phone the morra, I he says.

So after work today I rushed along to the Carphone Warehouse at the forge retail park, battling my way through crazy shoppers and pensioners who decide to go on bus journeys during rush hour!!

Upon getting to the shop I tells the guy what I am looking for and he says yes lets get it sorted so he gives me the demo of the phone and sh!t not that I was interested I wanted the phone in a bag so I could head home and get my dinner and get a kip.  After spending 20 minutes in the shop he says you need to pay on a debit or credit card for the phone.  Arrrrrrghhhh fcuk me - I have £500 in my pocket all I want to do is buy the phone.

No, sorry sir you must pay for it on a debit or credit card.

To say I am not best pleased is an understatement.  Its been a ***** of a day all round.

I'm shocked when so many people reveal that their ipod has died. I've had mine since the year it was released, and it is still going strong years later, even though I play it for lengthy periods almost every day without fail. It's had more charges than a herd of rhinos! Why would mine still be okay and everyone's else's dying after 12 months? Did I just get lucky?

Maybe you don't put it in your back pocket and sit on it!

Do not buy an i phone until nov 23rd, its released in france on that day, french law means that they have to sell it unlocked and without a contract. Also all features will be unlocked, ebay will be flooded with them and youcould do a Xmas booze cruise and pick one up

A woman has just applied for a job in my work, and on her CV is 'Russ Abbott's former nanny'...!
