Amazing considering they were 4th seeds for this qualifing group.

Already proud of their achievements so far considering the doldrums of the last many years.

Hope that they go into this one knowing that no matter what, we are proud of them. Hopefully this will allow them to play with less pressure and take down the win..one time!!

Thats largely to do with changes the way they calculate the seedings, used to be largely based on previous qualification campaigns and for World Cup it will be based on FIFA rankings.  But excellent effort nonetheless.

You've confused me now, how can we be miserable at still being in contention from a group that includes the World Champions, the runners-up & quarter finalists? Of course we don't suffer from the delusion that we deserve to win all the time :D Personally I'll be surprised if we manage a draw - and think we'll be hoping the Ukraine can do us a favour, but it's still there for us to attack.

I guess you'll all be Israel supporters this weekend?

I am trying not to get caught up in the euphoria as I have stated on previous threads I don't care much for international football, but I'd be delighted is Scotland made it through, I can't see it tbh the Tally's are good at getting what they need, they can come here knowing a draw is enough, although that may give Scotland the impetus to attack.

I predict a 2 - 1 victory for Italy though and I hope France get gubbed in the Ukraine.

In a way I hope that England and Italy do not qualify. Then the money men will point out that to have a major tournament without two of the biggest footballing nations is commercial madness. My rule for Monsieur Platini is that World cup winners should not have to qualify.
Anyway, good luck to Scotland I hope that they finish the job off.

I'd concentrate on qualifying then (as i hope you do) because if you don't theres no chance we're hanging about here to play you lot!

The FA wouldn't want us to lose to you (which is fairly likely) plus the other 2 teams are tosh, oh and not to mention we still have wembley to pay for....Tour of Asia here we come!

Not bothered if we qualify or not at this point, the boys have done so good, confounded expectations, catapulted up in the world rankings etc. Anything more is a bonus.

lol yeah..if anyone knows anything about going into something as an under dog and luck boxing his way out to the top, it's Geo. Geo IS the Scottish mentality ;) (and a gent on top of it). I hope they succeed and even believe they can do it..I sure as hell wouldn't have said that at the start of the campaign.

hmm I don't count england as being one of the best teams..sorry mate but Poland, England, Greece Romania, norway and Sweden are not teams that make me want to watch the tourney to be honest

lol..I'm not Scottish mate..I do hope they get a result but if Italy plays them off the park completely I wouldn't mind...also I would like to see Italy there..as Holland Italy or Italy-France Or Italy Germany are games I wouldn't mind seeing..Italy-England or Italy Sweden is not a top match in my humble opinion :)
