Won the toss and batted as planned, lost my opener 1st ball however

Currently 45-1 in the 12th over

I'm playing top, unbeaten all season, I don't have a chance.

Game is at home, so hard and fast pitch, 8 batsmen, 3 bowlers, rest made up of everyone else chipping in. Maybe I can grab a draw or at least bat until day 3 and get me some extra cash!

I'm helped by oppositions tendency to bat first, see out the first day and adjust tactics to suit.

So far so good!

I've made a major error today.  I was try in to change my pitch from dusty to hard and fast (opposition are better than me so only hope was to get a batting pitch and go for a draw) however, didn't do it early enough and it is currently green....playing into his hands :(.  Currently 59-5

All going to plan - he's been hitting 5rpo against most people's best attacks, so I can't grumble.

First choice bowlers coming back into the attack now, so hopefully slow him a little and pick up a bowling point!

I was bowled out for 123 :( .  Does anyone know if the pitch change will take effect for day two or will it remain green for the duration of the match?

Stays the same throughout the match, otherwise home teams could have huge advantages.

In future they will deteriorate over the course of the game, which could be fun!

Suspected that would be the case.  I may have lost anyway but I'd have had a chance of a draw on a batting pitch.  Have virtually full strength side out as well so they will be getting PFL hits in a game they cannot win  ;grr;

well after the 1st ball wicket, things couldn't have got any better, apart from one MINOR thing

rested my top 2 batters, and my new allrounder.

So was very happy to score 503-4 dec, with my no 3 scoring 205, my no 4 scoring 103, and frustratingly, my no 5 (the captain) scored 99no when he declared.

In reply, after 21 overs, I have them 40-7. I'm at home, so deciding between cash and PFL is my job for tonight.

The changes to bot pfl seem to have taken effect as I had one that wagged from 53-7 to 199 all out today! 

Still should win easily enough but interesting times ahead as the four "real" teams in the division start to clash soon!

Bowled them out for 50 this morning. have gone for PFL as at this rate, will have both leagues wrapped up in 2 weeks, meaning I can focus on improving players and not worry so much about the games.  made them follow on, but have opened with a spinner and my no 3 bowler, just so they can have a decent bowl for a change, rather than bowling at tail enders

they are batting better than in the 1st innings and are 27-1 from 8 overs.

they finally declared at 428-4

i am 17-0 in reply off 8 overs

no idea why people are worring about PFL most of my team played on friday at GFI and still managed to be subline after a full day in the field including my bowlers

Minor annoyance of my opener getting out on 96, over than that it is going well, and I'm approaching the heady heights of batting bonus points now!

Was going well then lost the wicket of Harris in the penultimate ball before tea.  I needed him and AN Other to put together a big partnership to have any hope of salvaging something from this match.  Managed to get max bowling points so thats something I guess...every little helps and all that.

Might have messed up here. At home and wasn't sure whether I'd be able to log in and eclare tonight so set a target of 998, which my lot reached around Tea (1000-3dec* does at least look pretty). Now got them at 14-2 and my club accountant is looking nervous :(

Them 74-3. Might take a while tomorrow, the batsmen in both have wages of £K plus and are energetic and invigorated. Next two after that are both energetic PFL as well and prob prof bats.

Now think my strike bowlers have done very well to dismiss their top order so quickly in both innings.

Still got quite a bat of batting to come (next man in has quality batting), so still hopeful I can bat out for a draw (he has to take 16 wickets tomorrow to win!) but the weather could change and make that harder for me!

I've actually made a decent go of it in my second innings, just needed someone to make a big score and it hasn't happened. I need to try and get a lead of 200 or so to gve my bowlers half a chance of pulling off a shock.  Only one more batsman to come though so a couple of quick wickets by them and it will be all over before lunch.  Had I got my desired hard and fast pitch I'm pretty sure I'd have got the draw.

To put this into context, in the last game against him I scored 259-20 (although I may have set everyone to very attacking for a laugh ;))

nice one.  I'm living in hope of a bolwer putting in an inspired spell where they rip through his top order in the space of a few overs.  Talamini is the man most likely to do it but the pitch isn't in his favour.

Only bad news I'm afraid.  They are cantering towards their target without any problems.  Blew the match with my pitch error followed by abject batting in the first innings.

A league mate in sledging was rather shocked ;)

Got Sausages and Az's Allstars still to play and no hope of a win in either but still a whole lot better then I ever thought I would.  If only the one day was such a good story.

The 96k wages player is now drained in PFL and they just lost their first game and fell to third in the league. Now, I'm, er, top of the league!!! Help, I just looked at some iv 4 FC leagues and I'm not ready!!!

Gonna be some crunch game versus the Rollers at the end of the season, we've both been taking max points every week for the last three or four games...

My table doesnt make pretty reading.  My next 2 games are against top and bottom which should be a max point win and a loss with hopefully getting some bonus points.  I then play the 3 sides directly above me in the last 3 games.  I suspect I will need to win 2 of then to have any hope of top 4.
