Title: Staying on top of your game... Post by: jjandellis on November 20, 2007, 07:12:08 PM I have just got back from what is pretty much a 2 month break from the game. I won my first sat back, but then went on a dismal run - which ended up with an awful Sunday. I might be embarking on my biggest losing run for a long time...
My questions are: Do u find a break from the game can be damaging? How do u get back into it?? ie. ease back in or into the deep end??? I'm worried (not only for my family but for my bankroll) as my unit sends me away ALOT. I'm just back and already I'm looking like heading to Norway from 3 Jan to 15 Mar 08. After that I have Poland again - and then either Belize/Falklands or Iraq/Afghanistan for 6 months... So as u can see, not much stability... Title: Re: Staying on top of your game... Post by: Graham C on November 20, 2007, 10:07:54 PM I've never taken a break that long, but I have been in situations where I've had a nice win then the next few times I play, I think I can win them all really easily and think that I am the best player at the table by miles. This always results in me going on a losing streak. It's all subconscious, I know I am doing it so I try to stop it but I can't help it sometimes.

That certainly has happened to me after I have taken a holiday. Once you are aware of that it should not be a problem to regain full focus. Title: Re: Staying on top of your game... The money was decent but had no were near the potential of cash games. When i went back to the cash games it took me a couple of weeks to get back into the swing of things as i hadn't played a flop for ages....
