Title: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: divaflava on November 23, 2007, 12:24:54 PM Crunch game versus the league leaders. I shot my mouth off in the week issuing a press release saying we were going to win, so it's a grudge match now!
They won the toss, I got them 14-2 but it's been ownhill since then and they are 141-2 off 30 overs and accelerating :( Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: matt674 on November 23, 2007, 12:47:06 PM Playing a human side and when i was sifting thru the players he has chosen for the game i was pleased to see that the PFL levels for his 5 bowlers are:
drained drained drained drained drained He appears to be playing batsmen with a decent PFL so i need to get a decent score to defend. End of Over 34: 242-0, runrate=7.12 Lyon 7-0-45-0 Abel* 100 (103 balls) Kirkland 129 (103 balls) My openers are sharing the strike nicely and with the slogfest to come in the last 10 overs i am quietly confident that my current record of 375 in a one day game is going to be bettered :) Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: matt674 on November 23, 2007, 12:50:44 PM why why why oh why do i do it?
i should have kept my mouth shut, not posted and not bokked myself...... 36.1 W Roberts to Kirkland No need for the third umpire, Gammon has an arm like a cannon. Incredible throw. Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: Bongo on November 23, 2007, 12:55:03 PM Played a match and received £164015 in gate receipts.
They are batting End of Over 38: 170-7, runrate=4.47, hard and fast pitch, his bowlers are tired. I think I should be ok from here! His best batsman is still in, I think I've only got him out once in the previous 3 games. He is too good! Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: Bazzaboy on November 23, 2007, 12:56:33 PM I think I win this one :). Opposition despite logging in nearly every day have bowlers with drained PFL, he also bought one of Bongos overpriced bowlers ;) for 200k 3 months ago and has yet to play him lol.
End of Over 37: 246-0, runrate=6.65 . Walton 7-1-25-0 Meyer* 99 (101 balls) Hadland 143 (123 balls) Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: Bongo on November 23, 2007, 01:13:32 PM he also bought one of Bongos overpriced bowlers ;) for 200k 3 months ago and has yet to play him lol. I'm happy to help! I had a look through my transfers a while back and was surprised to see he hadn't been played! End of Over 43: 187-10, runrate=4.35 Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: Bazzaboy on November 23, 2007, 01:26:04 PM he also bought one of Bongos overpriced bowlers ;) for 200k 3 months ago and has yet to play him lol. I'm happy to help! I had a look through my transfers a while back and was surprised to see he hadn't been played! End of Over 43: 187-10, runrate=4.35 Maybe at the age of 32 he sees him as one for the future :D Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: divaflava on November 23, 2007, 01:41:40 PM LOL ;D
They got 255-9, Du Toit managed a hattrick - pity it was off the last three balls of the innings!!! If I can see off their opening bowlers without losing more than a couple of wickets then I'm in among the low PFLs and quietly confident :) Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: Bazzaboy on November 23, 2007, 01:50:34 PM I'm thinking that will be 200 too many for them on a cracked pitch
End of Over 50: 330-2, runrate=6.60 Khanya 10-0-56-0 Harris* 41 (32 balls) Bowler 27 (24 balls) Last Wicket: Hadland c. Griffiths b. Walton 155 (FOW: 274/2) Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: matt674 on November 23, 2007, 01:52:32 PM End of Over 50: 371-1, runrate=7.42
Finn 10-0-75-0 Abel* 173 (154 balls) Tortoishell 43 (37 balls) Last Wicket: Kirkland Run Out 140 (FOW: 259/1) Not only did i bok myself with the loss of the wicket but then i didnt break the monkey's record of highest one day score either :( on the plus side i reckon i've done enough to win the game!! :D Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: Ironside on November 23, 2007, 02:10:55 PM i won
bowled them out in 12 overs took under 5 to knock off the runs Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: Wardonkey on November 23, 2007, 02:11:15 PM Top of the table clash! Playing the second place team, away from home.
Ruswarp Ponies won by 10 wickets. Buckfast Bottlers 126-10 Ruswarp Ponies 128-0 I should be 6th in this league, but none of the other managers have got to grips with PFL. I have to be careful to avoid automatic promotion because, despite being top of the league, my squad is a middling div 5 outfit at best and I see no benefit in a season of humiliating hidings... Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: Bongo on November 23, 2007, 03:22:39 PM And that's the end of the match. Bigglesthwaite CC won by 9 wickets.
Lathams XI 187-10 Bigglesthwaite CC 188-1 Looks like the other 2 teams on the same points as me will win too, so will remain tied at the top. Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: divaflava on November 23, 2007, 03:24:11 PM GG chaps
163-3 off 25 here needing 256 Cohen is having a stormer. Tzaneen has just come in, if these two stick together I'll get the 93 needed before the 40th over is up :) Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: Bongo on November 23, 2007, 03:33:41 PM This was the first OD game at my newly expanded ground.
I made it 22500 capacity, attendance was: 22445. So by the time the next home game comes around the ground will be too small, again! Also got a proficient top order today too, as well as respectable spin and seam bowling! Ton up for Cohen, nice knock for you Diva Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: Bazzaboy on November 23, 2007, 03:35:40 PM I'm making heavy weather of finishing this motley crue off
End of Over 27: 131-6, runrate=4.85, reqrunrate=8.70 (330-2) Ewart 4-0-14-1 Hartford* 10 (12 balls) Johnston 4 (6 balls) Last Wicket: Mohammed c. Hadland b. Austin 5 (FOW: 120/6) Also noticing that oneof the revitalised bots is looking like beating the side level on points with me, so looks like I will have to put out a full strength side next week if I want a result gl diva Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: matt674 on November 23, 2007, 04:00:57 PM beware of the bot.......
A game from my group with a bot who is bottom of our division without a win playing the team in 6th place but who is having PFL issues - the bot teams have now all been given "fresh" PFL's. The bot batted first: End of Over 50: 337-4, runrate=6.74 Halford 10-0-50-2 Forrest* 56 (39 balls) Horstead 6 (7 balls) Last Wicket: Higginbotham c. Hughes b. Halford 73 (FOW: 321/4) and the reply from the 6th place team: All out for 93........ :o I'm just about in control of my game - one or two more wickets and i'm into his "drained" bowlers. End of Over 33: 206-3, runrate=6.24, reqrunrate=9.76 (371-1) Mercer 10-0-39-1 Anthony* 110 (103 balls) Stratford 0 (3 balls) Last Wicket: Ayles c. Mercer b. Kenny 10 (FOW: 205/3) Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: divaflava on November 23, 2007, 04:12:23 PM They stuck together and we've won by seven wixkets!!! Yesssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cohen has started to put together some big scores in recent weeks; it's really nice to have three batsmen capable of delivering match-winning innings ;) Must go. nose-rubbing press release to write :) GL all still playing. Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: matt674 on November 23, 2007, 04:16:28 PM 36.3 W Gillan to Anthony
That's in the air and... out! Malcolm won't get an easier catch all game. The wicket of his only decent batsman left - out for 120 and with it i reckon my opponents chances :) Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: matt674 on November 23, 2007, 04:57:04 PM Blimey - making hard work of this!! :(
End of Over 48: 352-4, runrate=7.33, reqrunrate=10.00 (371-1) Berry 9-0-63-0 Folkes* 79 (43 balls) Stratford 56 (38 balls) Last Wicket: Anthony c. Malcolm b. Gillan 120 (FOW: 229/4) Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: matt674 on November 23, 2007, 04:58:33 PM Phew - should be ok now!
48.1 W Hakeem to Folkes Huge yorker! He had no chance with that one, Mills shields his face as the stumps explode from out of the ground, Folkes was rooted. Hakeem is delighted with that, and he has every reason to celebrate. 48.4 W Hakeem to Roberts Stupid run there. Roberts was nowhere near the crease. Now he's got dust all over his jumper, his mother won't be happy. Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: matt674 on November 23, 2007, 05:02:44 PM and a nice way to finish....
49.6 W Berry to Hlompho He's behind you!!! No seriously, thin edge from Hlompho and Mills celebrates one of the easiest catches he'll take all season. And that's the end of the match. Matts Monkeys won by 11 runs. Matts Monkeys 371-1 Beddington CC 360-7 Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: amcgrath1uk on November 23, 2007, 05:28:12 PM Blimey Matt... you know how to make them exciting!
1st v 3rd with me in 1st at home Batting first, my lot made 344-4 with my med/comp batter at no 4 ( playing as he seems to score a hell of a lot of runs) hitting 142 from 111 deliveries, and my no 5, in his first competitive match, making 117no from 110. 4th wicket partnership of 259 also a record. Bowled them out for 98 in 29 overs, with wickets nicely spread, with my spinner going for less than 2 an over :) I am now 16 points clear of 3rd, so a playoff is all but guaranteed. 1st v 2nd at home in 2 weeks time, and they only just scraped past a BOT today 23/11/2007 Played a match and received £91005 in gate receipts. highest by more than £10k, with just under 13k people watching also a record. Title: Re: Battrick OD 23/11 Post by: Nakor on November 23, 2007, 06:12:02 PM I won away by 10 wickets.
Have no idea how - other bloke must be mad as . . |
