Has anyone tried this software and if so, comments would be greatly appreciated.

I dont know how much they have developed, but the software I purchased a few years ago is not that much of an opponent.  It is good for beginners and because limit poker wasn't played (and more or less still isn't) in the UK, it was good for practice before a visit to Vegas, if you hadn't played limit. 

Nowadays, there are low level internet games that are probably more useful learning tools once the complete novice stage is passed.

But once again I emphasise that I don't know how much the software has developed over the years.

Unfortunately for Wilson, their software has been left for dead by Poki Poker Academy (http://www.poki-poker.com). More options, tougher opponents, better looking - it's the thing to go for if you want a piece of poker software.

Blimey, that sounds quite spammy - but it's not.

Thanks for the replies.  I will take a look at the poker academy software.

I used Poki-Poker academy when I was first starting out. It helped me pick up experience without losing a lot of cash. The interface is good and has a range of player types which you can change around. You can also practice headsup play.

I don't think its a substitute for real money play though. I tend to play better when I have my own money at stake.

I'm still learning, only been playing about 6 months so still a little fish-like. The league has been great fun and I've learnt shedloads from playing better opponents, particularly Joe Beevers.
