Title: Good Mobile Tariffs?
Post by: DaveShoelace on December 04, 2007, 05:56:57 PM
Im getting sick of 02.

I travel a lot and make lots of international calls. My bills are always massive and I keep asking them to put me on a better tarif, but everyone they put me on seems more expensive.

Soooooooooooo, can anyone recommend a decent operator/dealer for someone who uses a phone not often but makes occasional international calls?

The cheapest way to make international calls is with skype, if you have a laptop or PDA and have a data tariff (which has other uses, like poker ;)) then you can make international calls at local rates.

As far as a normal tariff goes, I recommend one of the cash back offers http://www.e2save.com/contract-mobile-phone/Nokia-2310-Red-Price-Match/NOK2310RED by far the best deal (can't beat free!) for a normal contract, but no better for international calls unfortunately.

Although this post is old I thought it would be prudent to make an update as international call charges have just changed. A full brief of roaming charges for mobile phones can be seen here and you may be surprised to see text messages for instance dropping to just 7p per minute within the EU.

For those looking to make mobile phone comparisons take a look here and see multiple phone models side by side.
