Title: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: Ironside on December 07, 2007, 07:10:55 AM i am up against va va vroom
lucky for me payne his 98k bowler had a PFL of lively 3 hours ago unlucky for me its up to invigorated now his 144k batsman is on sublime and his other 2 decent players (over 14k) are both energetic if i can get past those 4 he has no depth so my aim is to keep cleaver off strike and get them all out and see off the opening 20 overs (he players 1 and 2 through) Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: matt674 on December 07, 2007, 10:46:10 AM Playing a bot team today - unfortunately due to the resetting of their PFL levels to Fresh this means they've suddenly gone from being trounced week in week out to actually being the one doing the trouncing. His two openers have a rating of 183000 and 42000 and he has at least half a dozen more 30k+ rated players in his team.
I'm playing my first team who all but two are sublime, the other two being energetic - so will soon see how much of a difference the PFL levels make. He's batting first so I'm just hoping i can keep the score to a manageable total and take it from there. Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: matt674 on December 07, 2007, 12:39:57 PM Reckon its manageable at the moment though i would prefer to get the wicket of his 183k+ rated opener before the onslaught of the last 10 over slogfest!
End of Over 34: 172-2, runrate=5.06 Kenny 7-0-30-0 Judge* 90 (84 balls) Higginbotham 9 (23 balls) Last Wicket: Prescott c. Mills b. Gillan 57 (FOW: 146/2) Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: Bongo on December 07, 2007, 12:52:38 PM I was bot bashing.
Easy win for me! 2 crunch games next week though... Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: matt674 on December 07, 2007, 01:01:14 PM Hold on to your hats - its slogfest time.......
If i can keep the score under 275 i'll be happy :) End of Over 40: 195-2, runrate=4.88 Kenny 10-0-38-0 Higginbotham* 25 (45 balls) Judge 97 (98 balls) Last Wicket: Prescott c. Mills b. Gillan 57 (FOW: 146/2) Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: divaflava on December 07, 2007, 01:07:50 PM I was expecting a tough game against the team I beat by one run earlier in the season. I say "was" because
And that's the end of the match. Gorseybrigg old boys won by 10 wickets. good team 64-10 Gorseybrigg old boys 65-0 Blimey! Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: Bazzaboy on December 07, 2007, 01:14:32 PM I'm playing a BOT. I've put out a weak side on TIE. It started well but have had a bit of a hiccup at the start of my innings. Have 2 decent batsmen at the crease now so should be ok barring any further mishaps
End of Over 3: 14-2, runrate=4.67, reqrunrate=2.26 (119-10) Oconnor 2-0-5-2 Harris* 2 (2 balls) Tau 1 (3 balls) Last Wicket: Conelly b. Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: matt674 on December 07, 2007, 01:41:07 PM If i can keep the score under 275 i'll be happy :) End of Over 40: 195-2, runrate=4.88 I guess this means i'm unhappy :( The players are off the field for the break between innings. End of Over 50: 276-9, runrate=5.52 Berry 10-0-73-2 Horstead* 31 (21 balls) Selley 0 (0 balls) Last Wicket: Swanton c. Abel b. Berry 0 (FOW: 276/9) Only just mind!! Lets see how i do against his better but more tired bowling attack Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: matt674 on December 07, 2007, 01:57:05 PM End of Over 2: 8-3, runrate=4.00, reqrunrate=5.60 (276-9)
Eastwood 1-1-0-2 Abel* 1 (3 balls) Mercer 0 (0 balls) Last Wicket: Malcolm lbw b. Eastwood 0 (FOW: 8/3) Doesnt look like this will take long :'( I thought the idea was to get all the bot teams relegated to the bottom rung of the pyramid so they could be given new managers - with this team here he could go from an 0-7 record to a 7-7 record and stay up - then next year as this division is hardly a hotbead of quality teams he could end up being promoted!! Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: Bongo on December 07, 2007, 02:29:48 PM That was the plan, but then the people at the bottom found it too easy, and boring so bots were changed to fresh.
That had the side effect of creating some uberbots, which spank everyone. As the change was done last minute that can't be helped (any change would be unfair on those who had already played the bot). I'm pretty sure that at the end of the season common sense will prevail and all teams who go bot will be giving a new random starting squad, possibly with the existing players being sold (would help to curb inflation by increasing the supply of players and taking some cash out of the game). Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: matt674 on December 07, 2007, 02:56:13 PM managed to make slight recovery after seeing out his 43k+ openers first 5 overs, his 23k opener seems to be bowling thru so if i can survive another of his overs i'll be into his "lesser" bowlers :D He has a 43k player still to bowl but looking at his squad he appears to be an all rounder so i'm hoping that the good stats are on the batting side ;pokergods;
End of Over 17: 87-4, runrate=5.12, reqrunrate=5.76 (276-9) Swanton 9-0-41-1 Abel* 35 (56 balls) Mohammed 17 (22 balls) Last Wicket: Mercer c. Judge b. Eastwood 23 (FOW: 48/4) On the plus side in the battle of the top two teams the runaway league leaders have hammered the team in second which means that if i lose this game but keep the score tight then i could actually move up to second in the table on NRR which if someone would have said last season that i'd be 2nd in Division 5 with 3/4's of season played with my same squad as last year i'd have laughed at them and called for the men in white coats!! :D Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: Ironside on December 07, 2007, 03:30:30 PM i put on 232-10 batting nearly the whole 50
he is 113-1 after 28 needing 5.45 an over vut he has his star coming in next i hope i dont take wickets Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: Bazzaboy on December 07, 2007, 03:55:16 PM Cruised to a 7wicket win after my early scare.
Now its a matter of getting my players in tip top condition for a crucial FC game next week. Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: Ironside on December 07, 2007, 03:55:30 PM crowe might tightest bowler whose role in the team is just to keep the rr down took a wicket in his final over cause there 140k batsman to come in
now i am in trouble 137-2 with 16 over left needing 6.0 an over or a run a ball time to pray Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: matt674 on December 07, 2007, 04:04:18 PM although victory seemed unlikely following the terrbile start my middle order seemed to have gotten us back in to a position where we possibly had an outside chance of getting close to his target
End of Over 34: 150-4, runrate=4.41, reqrunrate=7.94 (276-9) Firth 7-0-31-0 Abel* 63 (107 balls) Mohammed 49 (73 balls) Last Wicket: Mercer c. Judge b. Eastwood 23 (FOW: 48/4) After 25 overs we had been scoring exactly 5 an over but then the run rate began to dip but with a couple more batters to come maybe we could go for a final push in the last 10 overs to make it a tight game. However a change of bowling soon scuppered those hopes 34.1 W Horstead to Abel Big inswinging yorker crashes into his pads. Massive appeal and given! 34.6 W Horstead to Mohammed Mohammed gets up on his toes and tries to get on the top of a bouncer. He fails and ends up steering it straight to gully. Eastwood takes the catch and points his finger towards the dressing rooms. The match referee could be interested in that. Both batsmen gone in same over to leave final all rounder and wicket keeper at crease - after that its my 3 bowlers so i'm not holding out much hope of passing the 200 mark End of Over 36: 153-6, runrate=4.25, reqrunrate=8.86 (276-9) Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: Ironside on December 07, 2007, 04:09:28 PM with 12 overs to go he still needs 7 an over he is still big favorite
Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: Ironside on December 07, 2007, 04:16:54 PM 71 runs needed off the last 10 overs for him to win
one time Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: Ironside on December 07, 2007, 04:18:18 PM so he knocks 9 off the 41st over
62 from 9 now Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: Ironside on December 07, 2007, 04:23:09 PM another 9 makes it 53 needed from 8
ffs nice try boys next season i hope to get there Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: matt674 on December 07, 2007, 04:26:06 PM The return of his 43k+ bowlers for the final 10 overs soon put the result beyond doubt
End of Over 41: 171-9, runrate=4.17, reqrunrate=11.78 (276-9) Eastwood 6-1-25-5 My all rounder is on strike for the start of his 7th over but you can guarantee he scores a single to leave the number 11 facing the other 5 balls!! Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: Ironside on December 07, 2007, 04:27:02 PM WICKET wrong one though but now i have a chance as he has no other batsmen of quailty so he neeeds to keep cleaver on strike
8 from the over so he needs 45 from 7 Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: matt674 on December 07, 2007, 04:29:24 PM My all rounder is on strike for the start of his 7th over but you can guarantee he scores a single to leave the number 11 facing the other 5 balls!! Not far off :D 42.4 W Eastwood to Hakeem Excellent catch! Short ball outside off stump. Hakeem picks up the length quickly and cuts hard but fails to keep it down. Swanton at backward point dives to his right and takes a stunner. 42.3 . Eastwood to Hakeem Hakeem has no problem ducking under a high bouncer. 42.2 1 Eastwood to Kenny Outside off and angled wide of gully. 42.1 . Eastwood to Kenny Kenny is very glad he was wearing a helmet for that ball! Oh well i gave him a better game than his first two opponents who faced him after his PFL were reset to Fresh. Think i won't have done enough though to move up to second on NRR though :( Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: Ironside on December 07, 2007, 04:30:48 PM 13 off the over he only needs 32 from 6 now less than a run a ball
i need a miracle now Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: Ironside on December 07, 2007, 04:33:27 PM took another wicket but brings in a better batter
still not got his superstar Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: Ironside on December 07, 2007, 04:37:36 PM he needs 16 from 4 with 6 wickets in hand
well atleast we competed unlike the first couple of time i played this guy Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: Ironside on December 07, 2007, 04:40:44 PM 16 to cleave NO problem he scores 14 of them in 3 balls closing the match with 19 balls to spare
Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: Bongo on December 07, 2007, 05:21:31 PM I have a £350k bid on one of my players...
Just make you feel better iron! ;) Title: Re: 07/12 battrick OD Post by: amcgrath1uk on December 07, 2007, 09:43:10 PM 1st ( me) vs 2nd today. A win for me and I am promoted
Staples... 379 for 4. Opposition 26AO ( after being 3-6 I'm disappointed!) So thats Div V in both formats of the game next year. |
