Title: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on December 11, 2007, 01:24:10 AM The second day 1 and with all the Brits we've already mentioned, you can add Chris Moorman, Paul Jackson and Sunny Chattha to the mix, who will all be playing today. Literally, we'll shoot through the nine hours, which go very fast but leave no time for the bloggers to get food. Though to a certain extent I don't mind since, despite the hotel prices being relatively cheap, the food and drink are incredibly expensive) (Mad Harper was speechless when she asked for a bottle of wine which costs £40 here but would cost about £5 back in Spain. This forces us into Prague itself after the end of the day which isn't actually that bad a thing really, Prague at night is a pretty great place and whilst Maria was braving the cash games (she can claim to have played 100/200 now lol), I found a great little pizza place with the guys from Pokerlistings where you could get a freshly made pizza, a beer and a desert, all for about £8 altogether. So in summation, eating and drinking in the Hilton counts as a leak in your poker game.
Play restarts at 12pm (11am UK time) For a fuller update, photos, and the ability to interact with the updaters please head over to the interactive thread. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on December 11, 2007, 01:25:36 AM Chip Counts for Day 1A:

In a bizarre twist of letters (and no offence to any players from yesterday) its like yesterday was the B Team & today the A Team of poker sharks. A short list of spotted sofars:

(http://www.blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6644&g2_serialNumber=1) Benjo-lookalike Luca Pagano and Joe Grech, who apparently won the big event in Paris last week. (http://www.blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6646&g2_serialNumber=1) Annette Obrestad has doubled through with the stellar Jc 4d, the board was reading Jd Jh 9d, her opponent had bet out, she'd raised him and he set her all-in, to which she instantly called. He showed Kc Qs missing his gutshot as the board came running Aces. Annette up to about 18k. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on December 11, 2007, 01:04:29 PM Roberto Romanello has turned up late, but is probably wishing he hadn't turned up at all. He's already down to his last 1.5k after losing most of his chips with A-K on a K-x-3 board to a flopped set of threes.
Barny Boatman is equally short, he hit his set but ran straight into a set. Quote of the day. "Annette Obrestad is so good at poker that she can win online sit and goes without turning on her computer." Expect a calvacade of Annette 'facts' a la Jack Bauer or Chuck Norris. Do you have any idea how Erik van Leer is doing? He probably wears an Everest Poker Shirt with his usual oversized Bulgary glasses. Pretty small kid with short curly hair. Here he is, with about 7k looking like he's had a few Czech beers! Just kidding, it was the only photo I could take before I got ushered along by a TD. (http://www.blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6676&g2_serialNumber=1) Gavin Kelly -- 8.2k Nicky Power -- 9.5k Priyan De Mel is back under 10k after losing out with K-4 to A-7 on a A-K-7-4-x board. (http://www.blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6678&g2_serialNumber=1) William Thorsen is OUT, he pushed all-in for around 3.2k after Andreas Hoivold had button raised to 800 with Threes to push the cut-off limper. Hoivold made the call, won the race and Norway claims another victory against Sweden in their unending battle to the death. (NB, though Thorsen is actually sponsored by a Norwegian site and Hoivold is sponsored by a UK site, so I say we claim this as one of our own...) Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on December 11, 2007, 03:13:10 PM 1st prize has confirmed as €708,400 or £509,000 or $1,042,000 or, most importantly, 3,012 Palladium Ounces. Hopefully enough Palladium to keep you going for most of your life. :)
Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on December 11, 2007, 03:48:16 PM Any updates on Nick (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=797) Goodall (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=797), table 28 seat 2 (originally)? Thanks in advance, fantastic work guys. Roughly 16k as of 10 minutes ago (http://www.blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6682&g2_serialNumber=1) Annette Obrestad is OUT courtesy of the almightily named Alberto Spigolon. Spigolon limped for 200, 'AllinStevie' Steve Devlin made it 800 and Annette raised to 2,800. Spigolon cold-called this bet and Allinstevie passed. The flop was 4-4-2 and both players checked. Spigolon checked to Annette on the Jack turn, and she bet 3,750 which he called. He then checked the 8 river and she pushed for 10k. He made the call and showed Kings and she insta-mucked. Nicky Power has doubled up with Ac Qc on a Ten-high two club board against Jacks, hitting an Ace on the turn. Chris Moorman(1) raised to 600 after one limper with 7h 4h, and got two callers. The flop came 9-4-2 rainbow and he bet 1200 and one player called with just 2,700 behind. Moorman hit the 7 on the turn and set his opponent in, who called with 9-8 suited, the river giving Moorman a full house, though he was really perplexed that the other player didn't move in on the flop. Joe Grech just called an all-in on a Ad 9c 8h flop. With Qc Jd. And he was ahead. Against Jc Tc, the board bricked out, and the man who hates internet poker more than anyone I know added an extra 5k to his stack. An Ace King against a pair of Jacks, an unhelpful board and a then a short walk to the cash game.
Chris Moorman, on the same table, is over 25k now after more fun and games and non-stop hittage with suited gappers. He raised 6-4 from underthegun, and got action from the player he and nextdoor neighbour Ramzi Jelassi, kindly called, "The table donkey" who called with 8-7 suited. An 8-7-5 flop later and Moorman was raking in the chips. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Chili on December 11, 2007, 04:29:43 PM Leo Kam, GUKPT London leg winner has steadily increased his chips from an early dent. A hand just evolved with Elky limping for 300 and Leo Kam next to him raising to 1,200. His next neighbour Mike McDonald made the call as did Elky. So 3 guys saw this flop:
Ac Qc 6d all 3 checked Turn: 2h Elky checked, Leo bet 2,500 & Mike reraised to 5,500 total which Leo quickly called the xtra 3k. River: 4c Leo Kam bet 4k - about half of what Mike had left and it looked like a semi reluctant call from Mike but he did. Leo showed Jc Tc for the rivered flush and Mike looked sickened and mucked. Mike McDonald 4,800 Leo Kam circa 36,000 Elky, Kam, McDonald (Karl M just moved to the table) (http://www.blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6686&g2_serialNumber=1) Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Chili on December 11, 2007, 04:55:44 PM Gavin Kelly is OUT, his Kd Kc was no match for 7c 7d and flopped quads!!

Dag Martin Mikkelsen raises to 800, Thomas Wahlroos makes it 2,100 from the button. Dag calls. Flop: Jc 6d 5c Check check. Turn: Qh Check from Dag, 'The Eggman' tries 3,300. Dag calls after a think. River: 3s Check check. Dag's pocket Eights are good as Wahlroos mucks. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Chili on December 11, 2007, 05:25:00 PM Updates on moorman please, i secured myself a little piece of his action. If karma exsists let it be now, one Moor Time! Karma is Chris's mate at the moment, he's got 28,500 (http://www.blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6698&g2_serialNumber=1) Nicky Power - 28,000 Mike Ellis - 6,300 (and that is after beating AA with JJ and a straight) BA Kildalen - 30,600 Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on December 11, 2007, 05:26:11 PM Dag Martin Mikkelsen and Thomas Wahlroos who have already had some little duels, just got it all-in a big pot.
The board was 4d Kc 3d and Wahlroos had moved all-in over the top of Dag's bet, (I'm guessing it was re-raised preflop). Dag though for a while before saying, "Ok, I'll call." Walhroos flipped his Ahrt Ad, but didn't like it too much when Dag turned over Kd Qd. Turn: 3s River: Td The Finn is out, and DM Mikkel is the recipient of a 60k pot and tying for the lead with Leo Kam, (who Elky has been bleeding chips to all day apparently) Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on December 11, 2007, 05:58:28 PM Stephen Chidwick is OUT with Tens vs Ace King.
Moorman has dropped down to 15k with Queens against Ace King, but not AIPF as some might think. He raised from early position and just flat-called the re-raise. The flop came three low rags that both checked, Moorman bet out on the turn when a fourth raggy card appeared and was flat-called. The river brought another rag, but a third club, Moorman moved all-in, (he called it a 'value-shove' :D) thinking that Jacks and Tens would call him, but unluckily his opponent was holding Ac Kc for the rivered nuts. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on December 11, 2007, 06:17:20 PM Sunny Chattha is reading this, so we think he's out. Tens vs 8-5 on a 9-7-6 board costing most of his stack.
Stuart Rutter is also out, he turned trip nines but ran into a slow played nut-flush. He then had A-J vs Sixes. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on December 11, 2007, 06:47:31 PM Cristiano Blanco shakes his head after paying off a 6k river bet on a Jd 6s 8s Ks 7c board when his opponent shows a rivered set of Sevens.
Another exit that I forgot to mention earlier was that of Paul Gourlay who was going ok, then got moved to another table, raised with Kings first hand and bet 2,500 on a 6-8-9 before passing for his remaining 7,500 or so, reasoning that he wasn't going be bluffed because he was unknown to the other players. Next hand, there were a couple of limpers and he decided not to raise his A-Q in the big blind. The flop came a fantastic A-Q-5, and he check/called a bet before leading out on the 3 turn, he was set-in and quickly called only to find a set of slowplayed Aces against him to knock him out to the rail. Tens vs 8-5 on a 9-7-6 board costing most of his stack. Stuart (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=421) Rutter (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=421) is also out, he turned trip nines but ran into a slow played nut-flush. He then had A-J vs Sixes. Yep out, how's Praz, Karl and Priyan getting on? Mixed emotions - Praz is cool on 40,000 Priyan just knocked out a player flat calling a raise with AJ. The board was J 8 6 Priyan made a 1,600 bet and mateyboy shoved in holding KK. The turn came another J and the river an A. Priyan runs good on 29,800. Karl Mahrenholz on the other hand was only down to his last 5,700 when I arrived at his table. With him in the small blind, it had passed round to the button who just limped. Karl made his move and shoved and then the big blind decided to dwell it up now! He made the call in the end and the button passed. Does this look like the face of a guy who is glad his all in bet has just been called? Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on December 11, 2007, 07:17:46 PM Mike McDonald has made a major recovery, and is back up to close to 20k.
He called 3k on the turn of a 8s Ts Th Td board before both checked the 5s river. Holding pocket Fives, his Tens full of Fives, (Or Fives Full of Tens too) scooping the pot. Praz is adding to his stack, his scandinavian opponent bet out 1,650 on a 5s 5h Kh flop before Praz made it 3,500 which was called. Both checked the Qc turn. On the Ks river, the scandinavian checked again and Praz bet out 8k and won the pot. He's raised two hands since then and saw Tc 4c 4s and Qs Js 6h flops but check/folded both times to Leo Kam and Peter Meere. Andrew Feldman, who was a late, late entry to the tournament is struggling along with around just 4k. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Chili on December 11, 2007, 07:28:00 PM Tony Phillips is quickly turning into my favourite player to update on. If I am anywhere near his table he just shouts to me his chip count - I wish every player did that. Life would be a breeze in update land.
Tony Phillips - 27,000 Chris Moorman ran into trouble - In an intricate hand that I totally missed he lost a 50k pot with QQ v AK post flop. THEN there was a 15 min break but Chris didn't come back for 30 mins because he thought it was an hour dinner break, so a couple of K went astray there. He is currently on 7,500. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on December 11, 2007, 07:37:38 PM Jani Sointula is OUT. A-Q vs Jacks.
Steve 'Allinstevie' Devlin still looks to be far and away the chip leader with over 100k... Maria is just doing a final couple of hands whilst we wrap everything up. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on December 11, 2007, 08:08:50 PM Mike McDonald has continued his surge backup the poker ladder, he re-raised an UTG raise, and found a player pushing behind him. The initial raiser passed and Mike called as you'd guess, with Aces, the all-in stack showed A-K, the board coming Q-J-2-9-5. There was a slight wince in the face from the original raiser who claimed Queens or Jacks. McDonald has around the 60k mark now.
Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Chili on December 11, 2007, 08:17:23 PM Very interesting hand now just developed between a scandielad, Praz Bansi & Peter Meere. It started with a raise from scandie to 1,800, a call from Praz on the button and a call from Meere in the big blind. Flop:
Kc 7h 8d Meere checked, scandielad bet 2,900 and Praz reraised to 7,500. Now Peter Meere is clearly pained and can't decide for a good while what to do. He counts his chips to see probably if he has enough to get Praz off the hand but he really has one move left which is all in. He does decide on the all in BUT doesn't announce it and puts his stack ove the line in two separate motions. So the movement is deamed as a call only leaving Meere with 4,600 behind. The original raiser and flop better passed and left Praz and Meere to it. They see the turn: Qh with Meere to act first he does put the rest of his stack over the line to make it 4,600 to Praz. Praz announces "oops" and smiles. It's just with so much in the pot can he really pass? Praz says "I can beat 9 10." He calls the extra and we eagerly get to see. I suspected someone had 9 10 but which one of them? Meere 9d Th Praz 4c 4d With a 2 on the river and no help for Meere his is eliminated at this late stage of the evening by Praz making an awesome call in my opinion. Meere was not happy and repeated something with a 4 in it! Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on December 11, 2007, 08:19:42 PM We're finished now.
