Title: Led Zeppelin Post by: taximan007 on December 11, 2007, 05:15:17 AM Was anybody lucky enough to attend the concert?

But I was lucky enough to pick Bainn up from both our respective places of work and be informed that there was something special on the box at 23.50 last night - LedZepp in concert in Madison Gardens, 1973...mind-blowing, fantastic - we thoroughly enjoyed it though it was not long enough... only 30 mins. Then Bainn "taunted" (LOL) with naming some of the tracks on "Mothership" which he has purchased for me for Christmas...dying to unwrap that pressie in particular! I am, however, going to see The Verve tonight - should be good. Have to say, did have a somewhat envious thought re: those lucky enough to see Led Zepp live... Saw them about 12 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed that live gig. Title: Re: Led Zeppelin Post by: Graham C on December 11, 2007, 09:30:12 AM Would have loved to get tickets too, but sadly didn't. Actually, I forgot to apply so perhaps I didn't deserve them :D
Missed last nights tele gig too! Must have been great seeing them when they were around properly, certainly one of the bands I'd like to have seen. I saw Page and Plant once but it's not quite the same. Expect last nights gig will be on tele/dvd at some point. The Cult were playing a gig in the States recently and hinted that they were supporting Led Zeppelin next year sometime, not sure how true it is but I'm hoping. Title: Re: Led Zeppelin Post by: Laxie on December 11, 2007, 10:30:15 AM There's a rumour Lord Henry is trying to book Led Zepplin for Slane Castle next summer. If you're rumour is true Silo, then the Slane rumour is looking pretty good...and I'll be joining the click fest when it's announced.

Title: Re: Led Zeppelin Post by: Nakor on December 11, 2007, 06:00:55 PM I went to ATP to see Portishead, GZA (Wu Tang Clan) and Jerry Sadowitz at Minehead this weekend stayed till Monday with the idea it would stop me going to O2 and spunking loads of money. A life long friend could not resist, so with 2k in his sky rocket turned up at 02 10 am yesterday hoping to pick up a +1. After an hour, cold and dejected he went to a coffee shop round the corner to warm up, before trying again. A gent taps him on shoulder asks him if he wants to collect wristband for the gig for £175.
He sat next to a American gent who paid 10k for his ticket. I think they both got a bargin. I have never been so gutted and envious of anything in my whole life. The cherry - he was offered 4 other chances for tickets through the day. The gig he describes as wonderful. This helps my current state of mind little. Look forward to new Les Zepp tour dates announcements. Unfortunately the verve gig was somewhat disappointing the other night - probs with Sound and getting it together again - hope it was just an "off" night. "Bittersweet S..." was a brilliantly performed encore though, as u can imagine. Title: Re: Led Zeppelin Post by: Tonji on December 13, 2007, 12:02:21 PM a few clips are up on utube
