Which suits me fine ;) Title: Re: battrick 11/12 FC games Post by: matt674 on December 11, 2007, 01:07:46 PM Team P W L D T Bat Bowl Points

Matts Monkeys 11 4 5 2 0 30 29 123 This is how my league table looked going into todays game. Last week i played the then league leaders Canvey CCC and won by an innings and 58 runs after their much better squad had a much worse PFL. More of the same this week as i take on the new league leaders Preston Occasionals, again they have a far superior squad to mine but thanks to me having a decent size squad and being able to rotate my PFL are much better - result...... End of Over 39 (Maiden). Preston Occasionals: 77-4, runrate=1.97 Berry 8-2-10-0 Travis* 0 (2 balls) Van biljon 6 (25 balls) Last Wicket: Le roux b. Hakeem 52 (FOW: 77/4) Next week i play a team far worse than mine so i'm virtually guaranteed a win even if i play a weakened squad and with most of the teams above me struggling there may be a chance that the league is still up for grabs come the last week of the season. However as my squad is only good enough for a weak Division 5 there is no way i can get promoted to Division 4 so i may have to throw my last game of the season to be sure!! :D Title: Re: battrick 11/12 FC games Post by: Bazzaboy on December 11, 2007, 02:19:34 PM I got off to a hellish start in a must win game. Found myself at 110/5 (only batting to 7) and staring defeat in the face. I have however staged a revcovery and I'm currently 247/5. I really could do with max points in this match but its going to be easier said than done.
Title: Re: battrick 11/12 FC games Post by: Bongo on December 11, 2007, 03:39:46 PM Just got his best player out and picked up a bowling bonus point.
Hopefully I can take a few more wickets now (especially as the bat still in has faced 250+ balls), put some pressure on him to declare and maybe get another bonus point. As promotion is pretty much guaranteed on the one day front I have deliberated long and hard whether to throw away one, or both, promotion opportunities as, quite frankly, my squad is weak and will clearly struggle in div 5 next season. But when it came to telling them that they would have to throw some games I just couldn't look my boys in the eye and so it's all guns blazing for rest of the season and to hell with the consequences!! rotflmfao Playing 3rd today and am playing to win because that would make 2nd place pretty much guaranteed but am also ensuring that I don't risk losing. The staples team seem to have followed their manager's example, staying up to silly o'clock after winning a $5 rebuy for just under $1.7k. The opposition are currently 84-7 which is more than double their first innings score. Title: Re: battrick 11/12 FC games Post by: Bazzaboy on December 12, 2007, 12:45:02 PM Not going well. The players are off the field for lunch. End of Over 32 (4 runs). Bigglesthwaite CC: 93-4, runrate=2.91 Not the best result, given that everyone is on Defensive or V.Defensive. Still, There's a superb bat out in the middle and a strong left in the hutch, and I only need 155 more to avoid the follow on. The good news is that I bowled him out this morning before he could declare and picked up the extra bowling point. Cracking innnings from him though, he's normally rubbish in FC. Now I just want to get bowling at them ASAP and take advantage of the bad weather, if I can skittle them cheap I have a chance to win! Title: Re: battrick 11/12 FC games Post by: Bazzaboy on December 12, 2007, 03:44:04 PM I have 34overs today where hopefully I will take advantage of their bowlers having PFL issues. Lead by 205 runs. (Bigglesthwaite CC 251-10) My game is quite finely balanced. Depends a lot on how many wickets I can take tonight and what the weather is tomorrow. (I've already been stitched up that twice, choose to bowl in humid conditions, only for them to be sunny at the start of play, and then had to bat in the humid conditions myself).
