Title: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 3 - Interactive Post by: NoflopsHomer on December 13, 2007, 01:20:23 PM Sorry everyone, it seems the live update actually just got deleted somehow by mistake. So if your posts have been deleted I can really only apologise. So we're just going to reprint everything from the 'At A Glance' thread and anything we can salvage.
Today our 32 remaining competitors will play down to a final 8, for the 3pm final on Friday. The relatively early finishes allow us to go out and sample some of Prague's restaurants, last night, it was Maria and myself, Marc from Gutshot, Benjo, Neil the Stars photographer, Mad Harper, Owen and Arthur from Pokerlistings and Micky from Pokernews who found ourselves in this steakhouse called the 'Crazy Cow'. Mad was telling us about how she first got involved in the EPT during it's very first tournament held in Barcelona what must have been 3 or 4 years ago. She worked on websites and ended up giving out t-shirts and hats (!) to each exiteer, and still remembers how it was literally Rolf (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=726) Slotboom (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=726) from Pokerpages who covered the then €1,000 event with it's 200 something runners, it's come a long way to this, quintuple the buy-in and over double the runners, with around fifty or sixty press people... I think if you want a note on how well-done everything tends to be done on the EPT, then seeing how much fun Arthur has had, having never done one before, and just been on the WPT/WSOP events in the States. Seriously, the guy seems to enjoy himself and smile more than Age (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=456) Spets (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=456). Here's his assassin. We didn't see Adrian's hand but Zink now up to around 450,000.
Mikael Nordin has also been eliminated. 28 left! Huuuuugeee pot!!! ;bp; NO! Bigger than that (http://www.panamatours.com/Magazine/topsancocho.JPG) 7d 2h 6c Kc 3h board, Mikael Norinder bets 55k on the river against Luis Sevilla. Sevilla dwells for an age and Norinder calls for a clock, but as soon as the clock is called, Sevilla moves all-in, Mikael asks, "Do you have Aces? Ok, I call." Luis Sevilla turns a shade of grey as he flips Ac 9h for a complete bluff whilst Mikael shouts with joy as he triumphantly turns over Ahrt Kh to win a pot of around 600k. Arnaud (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1011) Mattern (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1011) sighs and tells me, "Well, at least I got my share of his chips yesterday." The new chip leader, Mikael Norinder. Only mysterious because I missed his exit!!
-------------------------- Quote of the day so far goes to Mikael Norinder who on a flop of 2s Td 8h asks Tommy Pavliceck where he is from and when he gets the reply "Canada" Norinder says "Well get your plane back there, I am all in!" To which Pavliceck insta calls with Th 8s for two pair. "Shit" says Norinder who shows only Ts 4h LOL. Tommy Pavliceck doubles to about 250,000 and Narinder is only smarted & dented only. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 3 - Interactive Post by: boldie on December 13, 2007, 01:23:17 PM Dagomir still for the win :)
Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 3 - Interactive Post by: NoflopsHomer on December 13, 2007, 01:23:48 PM Arnaud (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1011) Mattern (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1011) doubled up short-stacked fellow countryman Cyril Bensoussan with A-Q vs A-8, 8 on the turn. "It's ok, we keep it in the family," says Benjo.
Mikkel Madsen is OUT, to Nedzib Suman. Ahrt 6s vs Ks Jd, Suman rivering the vital Jack. Markus (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=644) Golser (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=644) has busted Oskar Silow with Jacks against Ace Jack. Tony Phillips, the last remaining Brit is OUT. He lost a big pot with A-Q to Iliodoros Kamatakis A-K then Kamatakis finished him off with Queens against Nines, hitting Quads and shouting loudly. Cyril Benssousan has doubled up again, this time through Tommy Pavlicek with Aspades Qs against Ad Js after an all rag board. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 3 - Interactive Post by: NoflopsHomer on December 13, 2007, 01:25:43 PM Kristian (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=931) Kjondal (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=931) has doubled up. Jose Navarro had raised and Kjondal called from the big blind before leading out for 20k on the Tc Qc Ks board, Navarro asked for a count before raising to around 80k. As he did so, I couldn't help but catch a glimpse of Kjondal's cards, which is something that I usually never do. Kjondal was sitting there with pocket Queens, which he was rechecking, so it was a little amusing watching the Norwegian sitting there quietly whilst waiting for Navarro to make the raise knowing that all the chips would shortly be in the middle. As expected, Kjondal moved in, Navarro made the call with Jd Td but failed to hit and Kjondal is now up to almost 400k.
(http://www.blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6780&g2_serialNumber=1) Steven Voellers is OUT. No details I'm afraid, just the sight of him walking to the cash desk. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 3 - Interactive Post by: NoflopsHomer on December 13, 2007, 01:27:35 PM Ok, really sorry about all this, I'm trying to get the original thread back whilst we're on the break, hopefully it'll come back.
Some bad news now, especially if you're Canadian. First Marc Karam (below) is close to the felt after calling Markus Golser big overbet all-in on a Ahrt 2h Tc board, with Ac 3d but failed to improve versus Golser's Ad Kd with the turn and river coming 4c and Qh. (http://www.blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6786&g2_serialNumber=1) Next, and this hand is just pukeifing, it's just so sick and horrid and stunning all at the same time. The board is reading: 8c 7c 9c 9h Tommy Pavlicek is all-in, as is Juha Lauttamas and Mikael Norinder has called both. Pavlicek: 9d 7d Mikael Norinder: Qs 9s Juha Lauttamus: 6c 5c !!! The river is the 8d, Lauttamus has Pavlicek covered and knocks him out and also doubles through Norinder at the same time. Pavlicek is absolutely devastated, Mike McDonald tells him there was nothing he could do. Here's Pavlicek just before his exit, it's impossible not feel for him. (http://www.blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6788&g2_serialNumber=1) Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 3 - Interactive Post by: Chili on December 13, 2007, 01:27:39 PM After the initial onslaught of exits, we slowed down to a crawl as is the case with this many players left. Saying that though we have lost ex Leeds & Sweden International footballer Thomas Brolin. Down to only about 60,000 he pushed preflop with AK ran into Greek (former blackjack pro) online player Iliodoros Kamatakis also going all in for a lot more. He had protection though because the table left these two at it. Ilio's (meaning SUN) turned over JJ and then proceeded to ask for another Jack. All he has to is ask because a third Jack landed and Thomas Brolin is booted OUT in 23rd.

The flop was
A J 5 but the Q turn gave Pavlovic the straight and game over for Italian Rizzi. Pavlovic with blinds at 4k/8k made it 24k from the small blind and Gormley raised it 60k more leaving himself about 70k behind. Pavlovic went all in and put Gormley in the think tank for ages.
A clock was called and with 10 seconds he made the call: Ahrt 8s Paul Gormley Jh 4d Pavlovic (and shouts "Noooo" when Gorley called) Gormley up to about 170,000. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 3 - Interactive Post by: NoflopsHomer on December 13, 2007, 02:08:44 PM On a 6s 5s 4h Ad board, Markus Golser checks and Adrian Koy bets 50k. Golser calls. The river is dangerous looking Aspades and now Golser leads out for 80k, only for Koy to move all-in behind him for about 390k more, Koy having Golser covered. A crowd gathers quickly as Golser thinks for an age before making the call, Koy lets out a deep sigh and flips Js Jc which he's turned into a bluff whilst Golser shows Ahrt Qc and rakes in a 910k pot, having made a third impressive play. (The A-K overbet to elicit Marc Karam to call with a weaker Ace, and yesterday where he passed top two pair to a rivered backdoor flush). He looks to be the man in form now, and has to be the favourite.
(http://www.blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6790&g2_serialNumber=1) Marc Karam is OUT, although Koy was crippled by that last hand, he still had Karam covered and called the Canadian's all-in with Tens to find himself up against A-T. The pair held, but Marc Karam cashes once again in an EPT, though not as highly as the last two. The hoodied Nikolas Liakos has doubled through with Ac Js against the pony-tailed Sebastian Zink's Qd Th. He bet 90k on the river of a 2s 4s 9s 5s 9h board, but could only show 8h 7h when Suman made the call with Qs Kc.

No miracles and "the sun" goes OUT in 18th place.
They are hand for hand to get to the last 16 and 2 tables. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 3 - Interactive Post by: Chili on December 13, 2007, 02:22:54 PM Jose Luis Navarro has doubled up to around 200k thanks to Mikael Norinder who just moved to the table. I only saw that Navarro had Q3 on 3 7 3 5 7 board.
Navarro on the left with the hat - Norrinder, white shirt with glasses: (http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6796&g2_serialNumber=1) Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 3 - Interactive Post by: NoflopsHomer on December 13, 2007, 02:24:42 PM Paul Gormley is OUT. He held Th Td against Dagomir Pavlovic's Ad Jd
As the board came Ahrt Aspades 5h, Dagomir shouted, "Yes! Yes!" then "No Ten! No Ten!" more shouts came from him once the turn and river were Kd and 8d. 17 left and we're hand for hand and then a redraw for the final two tables. Arnaud Mattern has doubled up with Sixes against the A-2 of Juha Lauttamus, an ace came on the flop but by the river Arnaud had four-flushed his 6c to win the pot. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 3 - Interactive Post by: boldie on December 13, 2007, 02:25:37 PM Told you Dagomir would win it..the name just sounds right

Jose Navarro raises to 24k, Kristian Kjondal makes it 70k and Navarro moves in for about 170k more. Kjondal went into the tank, before making the call. Navarro: Kc Kd Kjondal: Ad Qd As the cards are turned over, Navarro's fans start shouting and cheering, "Vamos!!!" Flop: Jc Tc 7d And Kjondal has 5 outs now... Turn: 2c Now it's just 4... River: Aspades A collective cry from the Spaniards, they really felt that one, Navarro takes it better than them though, shrugging his shoulders and shaking hands with his Norwegian conqueror. Kjondal then mock-wipes a little sweat off his brow and says, with the air of a man who knows he got lucky, "Four outs was enough..." Here's three of the players who've been a bit quieter today and not seen too many hands, (or cards, we suspect). Arnaud Mattern, Mike 'Timex' McDonald and Christer Johansson. Yes, I didn't see or hear the hand, but the sight of Nicolas Levi dancing around like a madman gave it away. The players are just finishing their break and then we'll be playing hand for hand until one more player is out before they have the final table tomorrow. So it's stop! I have achieved NO work today! :) Is it safe to assume you're Nic's better half? ;) Dag Pavlovic is on a mean run of cards at the moment, re-raising Arnaud Mattern's preflop raise and then showing Kings, he then wins three more pots in quick sucession showing Queens again, then Ace Queen, then he limps preflop against Arnaud and Johannes Strassman in the blinds, bets the Kh Jh 9h flop (taking the pot down) and shows 6h 5h. He's just come unstuck though, he limps from UTG. Arnaud limps the button, the small blind passes and big blind Nedzib Suman checks. Flop: Kd 9c 3d Nedzip and Dagomir check, Arnaud bets 18k, Nedzip passes and Dagomir calls. Turn: 3h Check check. River: 7d Dagomir now bets 120k into the 80k pot. Arnaud thinks for a minute before calling. Dagomir mucks and Arnaud shows 8d 6d to take the 400k pot. Title: Re: Pokerstars.com EPT Prague: Day 3 - Interactive Post by: Chili on December 13, 2007, 04:48:32 PM Mikael Norinder raised it 125k from the small blind, Christer Johansson went all in from the big blind for 235,000. Nurrinder made the crucial final table bubble call and has Christer well covered:
Norinder Aspades Qh Johansson Qh Qd The board came out: Ahrt 5c 5d 6h 6c Christer Johansson finishes in 10th place and takes home €39,200 So its all over for the day we have our last 9 players. I shall hang around for the draw and the official counts to post as soon as...........
