Title: One day games 14/12/07 Post by: matt674 on December 14, 2007, 11:32:21 AM I dont get it :( playing the unbeaten league leaders who despite only having 15 squad members are all PFL sublime or energetic so all decent stamina. His squad is about 5 times better than mine so i decide to field a much weakened team and swap lots of players round to experiment a bit
End of Over 3: 18-1, runrate=6.00 End of Over 4: 21-2, runrate=5.25 End of Over 13: 80-3, runrate=6.15 End of Over 15: 91-4, runrate=6.07 i'm not getting over excited because i know he'll probably bowl me out for about 50 - but makes me think what might have been had i played my first team who are all pretty much sublime!! Title: Re: One day games 14/12/07 Post by: amcgrath1uk on December 14, 2007, 11:38:13 AM Playing a half decent human side in the OD league for the 1st time in ages.
Saying that, i'm playing more or less my weakest bowlers, to give my batsmen a challenge Which seeing as one of my opening bowlers are 5-0-43-1.. it may be a challenge!! Rest of the team are bowling well however, and they are 74-3 from 18 overs Title: Re: One day games 14/12/07 Post by: Bongo on December 14, 2007, 12:44:19 PM End of Over 35: 206-5, runrate=5.89
Clarke* 107 (90 balls) Glazier 35 (48 balls) lol. Title: Re: One day games 14/12/07 Post by: Ironside on December 14, 2007, 12:46:08 PM i am playing the team that will finsih 1 place above me in 3rd
End of Over 35: 170-2, runrate=4.86 i am hoping to get upto about 275 Title: Re: One day games 14/12/07 Post by: Bazzaboy on December 14, 2007, 01:10:02 PM I'm playing a match which will ultimately decide who finishes 3rd. I beat them pretty comfortable earlier in the season, however FC exertions mean I'm not at full strength, so I could struggle. Its a hard and fast pitch so anything under 300 and I'll be content.
End of Over 42: 234-2, runrate=5.57 Cranie 6-0-29-0 Terrell* 31 (37 balls) Ogrady 24 (12 balls) Last Wicket: Chaudry lbw b. Ewart 106 (FOW: 203/2) Title: Re: One day games 14/12/07 Post by: Ironside on December 14, 2007, 01:10:20 PM just lost my captain and best batsman (17yr trainee) in same over
but its brought in my 2 destructive batsman so i will either make the 75 i want or be all out in next couple of overs Title: Re: One day games 14/12/07 Post by: Ironside on December 14, 2007, 01:10:56 PM lost 2 wickets next 3 balls
looks like i am going to be a littel shy of my total Title: Re: One day games 14/12/07 Post by: Ironside on December 14, 2007, 01:16:53 PM i am losing 2 wickets an over here
the cracked pitch aint helping just hope i can take ALOT of early wickets Title: Re: One day games 14/12/07 Post by: Bongo on December 14, 2007, 01:21:56 PM End of Over 45: 231-10, runrate=5.13
Hopeful I can defend that, it's a dusty pitch and I have 2 decent spinners (and 3 other strong bowlers ;)). He's just sold his best bat and not replaced him so hopefully I can take some early wickets and get him out cheap. And return all the banter he's been giving me for the past 3 weeks ;) Title: Re: One day games 14/12/07 Post by: Ironside on December 14, 2007, 01:27:37 PM End of Over 47: 216-10, runrate=4.60
total colapse got to hope the pitch was a factor but they are a much stronger side so cant complain Title: Re: One day games 14/12/07 Post by: matt674 on December 14, 2007, 01:31:22 PM not a bad way to finish the innings - part of me wishes i'd picked my first team, maybe i'd have given him a run for his money
The players are off the field for the break between innings. End of Over 48: 238-10, runrate=4.96 Thabethe 8-0-45-3 Crouch* 23 (27 balls) 47.2 W Thabethe to Mathieson That was in the air for a long time, Mohammed got under it, nearly dropped it and finally cradled it at the fourth attempt. Thabethe's heart was in his mouth there. 47.1 1 Thabethe to Crouch A full toss which is worked away square through the covers. End of Over 47: 237-9, runrate=5.04 Gillan 9-0-44-5 Crouch* 22 (26 balls) Mathieson 0 (0 balls) Last Wicket: Burchill c. Mercer b. Gillan 0 (FOW: 237/9) 46.6 W Gillan to Burchill It's gone high in the air... a straight forward catch. He's out! 46.5 W Gillan to Elliot Hooked off his nose. That should have gone all the way, but a brilliant one-handed dive in the outfield sent him on his way! 46.4 W Gillan to Dover Dover prods at the ball attempting a defensive shot, but he's nicked it and it's gone sailing into Reed's gloves. 46.3 W Gillan to Adams A beauty from Gillan! Pitched up, with a hint of away swing. Adams is left pushing at thin air. Title: Re: One day games 14/12/07 Post by: Bazzaboy on December 14, 2007, 01:41:57 PM 99 runs off last 10 overs :(

2 wickets gone i have a chance IF i can get a couple more wickets soon the next 2 bowlers for me are in to keep his rr down so we will see around the 30th over if i have a chance or not Title: Re: One day games 14/12/07 Post by: Ironside on December 14, 2007, 02:51:45 PM good news i just taken a 3rd wicket
and he doesnt seem to have much depth in his middle order or tail with the highest average for season about 10 as i speak another wicket too the good could i get a week where i win both games and get a few fans into the club End of Over 20: 89-4, runrate=4.45, reqrunrate=4.27 (216-10) Title: Re: One day games 14/12/07 Post by: Ironside on December 14, 2007, 02:59:18 PM come on
just taken wicket 5 and rrr is now greater than rr this could be a huge scalp Title: Re: One day games 14/12/07 Post by: Ironside on December 14, 2007, 03:10:17 PM i need to keep his last batsman off strike he is knocking my tightest bowler all over the place
Title: Re: One day games 14/12/07 Post by: Bongo on December 14, 2007, 03:48:02 PM My game is really close.
Lucky I have my best bowlers bowling the last 10! End of Over 37: 160-3, runrate=4.32, reqrunrate=5.54 (231-10) He also doesn't have much batting to come, so a quick wicket or 2 should see me home! Title: Re: One day games 14/12/07 Post by: Bongo on December 14, 2007, 04:04:21 PM Well I can't see me winning now.
Have to love your bowlers being hit for 14 an over by batsmen with 1/3rd the rating. Title: Re: One day games 14/12/07 Post by: Bazzaboy on December 14, 2007, 04:45:18 PM I'm going to come up short as well by the look of things. The bashing my bowlers took in the last 10overs have proved the difference.
End of Over 47: 274-5, runrate=5.83, reqrunrate=11.67 (308-3) Black 9-1-45-2 Beattie* 24 (22 balls) Cranie 10 (8 balls) Last Wicket: Edgerley-harris c. Shantha b. Black 6 (FOW: 254/5) Title: Re: One day games 14/12/07 Post by: Ironside on December 14, 2007, 05:17:09 PM i beat a much better side

knocked off the runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the 34th over. Only downside being my opener getting out on 98 ( 82 deliveries) Thats 12/12 wins. 20 points clear. Think i'm playing my reserves in all but friendlies |
