Title: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: M POWER on October 26, 2005, 08:20:31 PM Just Wondering Regards M Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: tikay on October 26, 2005, 08:29:04 PM MPower, Yes, the new edition starts at 11pm tonight. We "lost" our planned venue footage when the Amalfi Tourney was shut down after it was raided by the Police. But we intreview the chap who organised it - well it's a chap-ette actually. Look out for Rhow's outfit in this..... So we have a natter about that, & the obvious link to the current "Gutshot debate". Then we have an Andy Black "Profile", and another natter. Then a sort of mini in-depth interview - an in shallowth? - with none other than the Rookie, Brian Wilson. Brian rushed up from Maidstone to Wapping, but for technical reasons (we'd recorded the show earlier, so this had to be "slotted in") I could not do my usual trick of asking for 5 minutes & blathering on for 15. The dummy was being VERY strict with me. Still, it was nice to chat with Brian. HE had a LOVELY shirt on. (HINT HINT). Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: MrMoves on October 26, 2005, 10:04:23 PM I'm really looking forward to hearing what the organiser has to say.
Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: tikay on October 26, 2005, 10:08:38 PM Mr Moves,
We HAVE got a lengthy interview with the organiser. As to why the tourney got stopped, I think we need to read betwen the lines. Watch the show, & we can debate it afterwards. Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: snoopy1239 on October 26, 2005, 10:49:52 PM Caught last week's Poker 425 last night.
Highly entertaining. Best bitfor me is always the opening banter between tikay and the baseball guy. Definetley the best host in my opinion. Seems to be carrying tikay. :D ::) Here, tikay, I'll do it for you. :redcard: :redcard: :redcard: :redcard: :redcard: :redcard: :redcard: :redcard: :redcard: :redcard: Anyhows, top show! Great report and walsall and good to see barry neville on the profile. Did my ears deceive me or was one of the answers 'tikay'?! :o :o :o Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: tikay on October 26, 2005, 11:01:24 PM Correct - Barry Neville said he "feared tikay". Wise man, that Barry......
And yes, I work & react well with Jonathon Gould, he's a real pro. This week's Anchorman is Alan Bentley. He's just as professional, but I don't seem to "bounce" so well off him - my fault, not his. My perception is that this week's show is a bit "flat". I think we should end with a good laugh, as we did last week, whereas, so far as I can recall, this week ended a bit blandly. I need to find ways to work with everyone better. There is no doubt that last weeks show was perceived as better than average because it ended on a nice high. OK, off top watch this weel's now. Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: snoopy1239 on October 26, 2005, 11:02:36 PM Do you still say the catchphrase at the tikay or is that only on some shows?
If not, I think that should be your catchphrase all the time. Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: tikay on October 26, 2005, 11:04:17 PM Q say it every show snoops, but Alan never gave me the cue last night, so I was not able to.
Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: snoopy1239 on October 26, 2005, 11:08:38 PM booooo :volin:
Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: tikay on October 26, 2005, 11:18:26 PM As I said earlier spoony, it's my problem to learn to work with Alan beter. When I never got the cue, I had the right to say "excuse me, can we do that again". But I'm mindful of my "statiion" in life as to TV, & tend not to say boo to a goose! It's hardly my place, all things considered, to tell them how to run their show! I don't have a Contract, you know.......
Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: The_nun on October 26, 2005, 11:22:23 PM Mr Tikay.. really...
What was you meaning with the offer to Brian ..i quote" Would you like a bit of English in you " .. I'm ashamed to be Blonde. Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: tikay on October 26, 2005, 11:34:58 PM That was down to a mix-up in the editing studio The Nun. I actually said those words not to Brian, but to Rhowena.
Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: snoopy1239 on October 26, 2005, 11:38:52 PM who's the other fella in the opening credits?
Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: tikay on October 26, 2005, 11:44:00 PM spoony,
It's Paul Tilling, who is in charge of Channel 425. He's built it up from nothing into the European channel - bar NONE - that shows more live sport than any other. He makes ALL the big decisions, like who will or will not be be the Presenters. I call him Sir Paul Tilling, because he's such a lovely man....... Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: Robert HM on October 27, 2005, 12:41:13 AM Thanks snoopie, I keep meaning to ask that questuion every time I see the credits
Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: MrMoves on October 27, 2005, 09:51:20 AM So, Rhowena spoke to Keren. I had a chat with Keren, she's very nice, even managed to talk €30 out of me so my wife could play. But, she's head of marketing for KS Poker, not really the organiser. I was hoping Rhow would speak to the two Italian guys who were seemingly in charge... language barrier maybe?
I won't be back in Italy until it's clear everything is legal. Good show as always, Tikay 8) Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: tikay on October 27, 2005, 11:15:07 AM I agree - nobody should go back to Italy to play Festivals until this situation is resolved. I indicated my thought process as to how it works in Italy on the show.
Looks like no more Italian poker jaunts for tikay! Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: tikay on October 27, 2005, 10:56:24 PM I had an e-mail from TRoy The Boy Brindley today, who'd watched the show last night, in which he was mentioned & his "style" of play discussed..
He said "you cant 'arf talk Tony", &, tellingly, "you are a complete tosser". And some not so nice things. He's a pal, by the way..... Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: The Truth on October 27, 2005, 10:59:41 PM Tikay thats fighting talk where I come from - go on son you can 'ave him! :)up
Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: tikay on October 27, 2005, 11:04:01 PM Roy The Boy is EASY to beat. Just don't let him drink. Once he's bladdered, he's unplayable.
Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: Karabiner on October 27, 2005, 11:15:50 PM Tikay's just impressed me with his understanding of lady's undergarments through the ages.
Not just trains that he's spent his time researching then ::) Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: tikay on October 27, 2005, 11:24:59 PM It WAS a Liberty Boddice Rhow was wearing, I'm sure. My Nan had one. Or it may have been a griddle. Title: Re: Is the new POKER425 on Tonight Post by: The Truth on October 27, 2005, 11:27:07 PM maybe tikay did his underwear research on trains :respect:
