Title: voice recognition???

if i could type using more than 1 finger id write a load more than i do sometimes, is their a voice recognition programme where you just speak and it types it out for you???

I guess there are decent ones now days.  About 5 years ago you could get one for MS Word that worked ok if you spoke clear and slowly, I would have hoped they've moved on since then.

My Mum uses this:

It's far from perfect but it gets easier the more you use it as it 'learns' your voice.

take a trip to a website for the blind you will find they will let you know which is currently the best for both recognition and reading text

either someone does it for them or they use a basic package that comes with there pc (they aint stupid these salesmen you know)

Please don't spend £60 on my recommendation, I fear it would be a waste of money.

At least try to get a free demo first.

My mum uses it because she has MS and no longer gas good enough use of her hands to type.

I've watched my Mum use the Dragon software, I'd say that unless you have some kind of disability that effects the eyes or hands then you're probably better off just typing. It looks painfully slow and frustrating to use.

You may never be a brilliant typist but it does get easier and there are plenty of free tools to help you learn on the net.

have only got fat fingers and thumbs why dont they space the letters out more on the keypad??????????
