Title: Re: Flopped Straight Post by: boldie on December 24, 2007, 06:26:12 PM I hate the fold here..unless you know oppo is the nits of all nits it's a sure fire way to losing money to fold a flopped straight. Especially when there's a busted FD on board. Oppo can push here because you played it like you have a FD.
ah hell why am I explaining what oppo can do..he can bet with anything..your friend should not be folding here..ever. The check on the turn is Ok'ish but what was he thinking? The way the flop betting worked all the money is likely to have flown in there if he had bet out. Title: Re: Flopped Straight Post by: Longy on December 24, 2007, 08:43:46 PM I raise preflop normally with this type of hand, because the limpers adds loads extra value in the pot to steal, i love position with a drawing hand and it mixes up my range to make me hard to read.
As played flop looks good, though i make my 3bet bigger with the intention of shoving any good turn, make it about $35 so the pot is big enough for this to be achieved. I shove the turn irrespective. As played the river looks close this is normally air or a boat to me. Enough missed draws to call the river for me but expect to be shown the nuts here quite abit. Title: Re: Flopped Straight Post by: Tragic on December 25, 2007, 03:09:42 AM I don't understand the turn play if ur asked whether to fold river. If you plan on calling later streets bet now if you check river is an auto fold cos u have already decided you are beat. I wud push turn tbh plenty of hands ur beating still T9 is ul.
Title: Re: Flopped Straight Post by: cooker3 on December 25, 2007, 06:37:07 PM I think river fold is pretty bad. He has missed draws and trips here loads imo
Title: Re: Flopped Straight Post by: AlexMartin on December 26, 2007, 10:14:23 AM River fold is the best part of the hand. Get it in on flop to stop set's shutting down on turn, dont like flat calling his 3bet here. Turn is the worst part of the hand, checking behind is a mortal sin, please bet here big next time if you choose to deviate from not getting it in on flop. And fwiw i think ur beat on river and its a VV good fold.
