bit of a random question, but i have just bought 20 car clamps and locks from auction for £130 all are working :)

if i wanted 2 start a clamping company in my local town(swansea) what will i need,

I know i need an sia clamping licence that costs about 1k

any thing else? Permission from the coucnil?

or can i just start clamping illegally parked cars once i get the sia licence?

I think you need an official patch to operate from.  You can't just clamp cars because it's not your property that you are clamping on.  You'd need agreement from the landowners.

There's an official body for carclampers, but I can't remember what it's called.  I sort of know someone that has a clamping business that told me about it when the mother in law got clamped illegally.

Not a nice business to be in, I recommend you don't clamp in the area you live in..

its prob something i wont do, my initial idea was to sell them for £50/£60 each to the local clamping companies, need more practice on wii boxing before i started clamping ppls cars my self.

You could sell them to individuals - they're pretty good security devices. 

Wait until some bugger clamps you, and whilst hes doing it, do his :)

keep 4 clamps every time you park illegally clamp all 4 wheels then watch them trying to clamp you
