What's with the tackling, finishing, finishing training on thursday, surely it should be all finishing! ;)

from what I understand you have to train the fitness (by having fun training)..staying at home gives you most so that's what I'm doing 2 of on friday

guys we are going to kick butt every good play on the game seems to be asking me for a contract i will sort robert and diva out when i get home tonight or tomorrow morning

hoping to get a sqaud of around 15 players to give everyone a game with some cover for fitness

if bongo doesnt change his mind on being a striker i have 3 good strikers + him

really need 1 more wingback and another cover for defence and 1 MID + cover and we have world beating team

got a request for contract from one mid yesterday that would walk into most national teams so

we migh have some fun

I think I've been paid...though not enough..500£ a week indeed..some people in the team are on 2k...that's just wrong!

Title: Re: http://www.footstar.org/
Post by: Bongo on January 07, 2008, 03:29:45 PM
lol, they are decent players though, it's ironmug's £1k a week that is galling!

I just hired a personal trainer and clean forgot I'd have to pay lodgings in Aberdeen, so will probably have committed suicide before my first pay check.

Either that or turn up to training off my head on buckfast.

diva for some unknown reason it wont allow me to send you through a proper contract

it says your only worth £5 a week

do a search for aberdeen and send through a request for £500 with £250 match bonus and £125 for the other bonuses and i will accept the request

yeah right

seems to be a problem with the game i am trying to get in touch with the game admins

i have about £50,000 spare wages a month but its limiting me to £5 per person

think its because one of the guys signed up with no wage

when its sorted i will sign you diva sorry for the wait

Title: Re: http://www.footstar.org/

There is something in the rules about the lowest wage in the team affecting what offers you can make.

Title: Re: http://www.footstar.org/
Post by: Ironside on January 08, 2008, 04:33:34 PM
i couldnt reneg his contract for 2 weeks then it would still be another 2 weeks before i could get him upto £50 meaning 4 weeks or more before i could sign players
i sacked him and told him i will bring him back if he wants later

as he was a striker your in the team and diva is signed just need keeper HM to sign and we are looking good

Cash Sanderbung says "I can't believe the club isn't paying accomodation for its non-Aberdeen based players"
Steve Bradley says "Apparently we don't own Scotland anymore, can you Jocks fill me in with what you've done with the place, so I can adapt?"

no.23 pls gaffer!

p.s. Oi Bongo, doesn't your brother know Steve Bradley is the next Roy Keane/Stan Bowles. If he wants to compete with me for a place, pls let him know I'm left-footed, so in the interests of team harmony and all that, he might want tone a right footer.

p.p.s. Any of my non-striking teammates fancy going down the dogs every other third Friday training session?

Bankruptcy lessons with bongo!

I just did the daily friendship building for the team, got to the last one and realised it said "this is an international phone call and will cost £25 per interaction". It was then I realised the national team had shipped me out to Singapore!

So that's 10*25*5 (or is it 6?) I just spent.

:(

I'm pretty sure he had a salary of 1049 when he hired us and it is 1225 now! Presumably, the new and improved contracts we've been promised will gives parity. I think the club should also pay our housing costs if we've had to move to Aberdeen. I'm freezing my nadgers off every time I go for a training run!

He'd like to me a centre mid, so if you can play him there when you play him it will be appreciated.

Hopefully we'll be able to rotate a bit, keep up our fitness and tweak the formation tactically now!

Think you should be all right, we have 5 mids at the minute, 2 play for the nats so you'll play in the league (if you want).

I'm happy just playing one game a week.

I'm currently thinking about how much of the team training I should follow...

Training rules for fitness are:
You'll get a 2% penalization if you have a full team training or a normal bot training and only 1% if you train at 75% (ie train differently to the team).

You also get a training penalty for every % your fitness is below 90%.

So we want to get the highest amount of training possible, and also to keep the fitness high.

Less fitness hit = less fitness sessions = more training sessions.

What's the optimum level?

Any ideas? ;)

the idea is to get 1 game per week + NT game

the newbies like myself and bongo NT will rest at weekends

but i still need 4 defenders a GK and 3 MIDs to give me a 22 man squad that i need

remember i play with 4 CM so we need 8 of you at present i have 3 good CM and 2 17 year olds

as per your PM i plan on making you a AM diva and playing you league matches due to you being crap and not in the english NT

Cheers. I'll have to skip the odd league game to train Game vision at a high percentage but otherwise I'm happy to play anywhere in the diamond, as an anchor, as a bob2box or in the hole on Saturdays. After tonight's game I'd like to avoid friendlies cheers.  Agree that until I've decrapped, playing in the hole (oi diva, give the ball to Josh) is an inspired plan oh guru gaffer.

Title: Re: http://www.footstar.org/
Post by: Bongo on January 23, 2008, 04:53:38 PM
Seems the first skill pop takes around 6 sessions, second - bit more (but they may be to do with low fitness).

Last week I had 1 going out session and 5 fitness, this week I'm hoping for one fitness day and the rest all skills (and see what the morale hit is like - hopefully I can get my friendships up and counterbalance it!).

I was going intensively on finishing, but they are a few other skills I want to get up (Speed, Dribbling, some Technique is vital for all players) and other things I think are important (Positioning this week) that I will train when there is a team training slot available.

I have begun to get a handle on it. Basically, my intention is to train fitness on Sundays when I play on Saturday, or on Monday or Tuesday when I don't then match the gaffer's masterplan the rest of Monday through Thursday, a bit of fitness if I'm playing Saturday, or a non-schemed skill if I'm not Fridays then two tackling and a having fun every Saturday.

Repeat until I'm 20,which is when the age penalty kicks in. By then I should be able to afford a decent PT and have goodish all round skills. Then I'll adopt my own training plan suitable to the Xp I've gathered, role in the team and general fancy.

Go Aberdeen!

positioning is important, so you might think about matching the team training when it is on the schedule.

The problem with that is you won't get the bonus for training 3 skills in a row, which is why I'd prefer to train fitness in blocks!

eh? are you talking about tackling, cos all the others are in blocks of three as far as I can see. But I'll train tackling more often than other skills so it will keep pace with them, if not outstrp them. 8 sessions with part bonus  instead of 6 with max bonus over a four week cycle. Any skill training I can do on a Friday I see as a bonus.

So you think we need 6 fitness a week?

Does anyone know what stamina actually does? The rules don't mention it at all!

Title: Re: http://www.footstar.org/
Post by: divaflava on January 23, 2008, 06:33:21 PM
well, I did this week and went from 40 odd to 95. My Friday fitness sessions are flexible - if it's clear I'll only need 1 or 2 then I'll do some extra skills training. Did think about asking the gaffer to run team fitness on Sunday but not sure the extra benefit of matching would mean you only need the one day.

stamina usually acts as a modifier to other skills in this type of game.

Title: Re: http://www.footstar.org/
Post by: Bongo on January 23, 2008, 06:35:02 PM
I'm just wondering if it will have some other effect - e.g. less fitness loss from games, more fitness recovered etc.

Must be worth trying out a team fitness training one day

Title: Re: http://www.footstar.org/
Post by: boldie on January 23, 2008, 09:28:20 PM
stamina means your fitness won't drop as much as it does now after a game. (that's one of the things i remember reading :)

Title: Re: http://www.footstar.org/
Post by: Ironside on January 24, 2008, 07:33:06 AM
there is no option for team fitness training so train it when you are below 90% and you dont fancy the team training

defence wise we are still 4 short so all defenders will play the first team games untill i get replacements then those of us that are 17 will just play NT and friendlies

diva aint in NT so he will get first team football

the rest will make do with friendlies unless they lose there NT spot and there fitness recovers

I think we don't needs to win the title this year, we need to win it in three season's time and the club's training should be dedicated to bringing on the next generation of superstars like Steve, Hal, Gene, Charles, Phil, David and the next generation of competent journeymen like Douglas.

God, I was grumpy this morning. The sceptic looks a cracking player, the goalie seems a character and I'm sure you can handle him. Besides, I'm sure you've seen too many Jock managers stifle their prospects by filling their first team with mediocre imports on inflated wages to repeat the same mistake ;)

Shows our teams training efficiency.

Highest in the world is about 85%.

I'm thinking of ways to get it up!

Although now my relationships are gaining me morale I should be able to avoid having fun which will help, and I'm getting the swing of fitness now.

I'll let you know if I come up with any interesting thoughts!

I could do with some pointers I think. I am esentially only training fitness (1 day) 1 day stamina and the rest tackling but till only train at 24%?

I also interact wih everybody everyday but find not every body does that with me..this means my morale drops and I have to waste training on Having fun training..please interact guys, it keeps my morale at 100%

Your fitness seems OK too.

What is your training schedule? Do you train in groups of 3?

I think you could boost your eff by training the useful team training skills when available.

I train with the team Mon-Wed + Friday. Would train thursday too but think fitness may need a boost by then!

My calcs are that you need 4-5 fitness sessions a week, depending on how much you fitness you lose from a match (ie a whole day and a bit).

Title: Re: http://www.footstar.org/
Post by: boldie on January 27, 2008, 05:29:44 PM
My fitnes is OK because I trained it 3 times today. I have been playing 3 games a week. 2 with the team and 1 U18 game every week and it's costing me in fitness.

I train stamina and tackling with the team and do everything in blocks of 3 (Other than having fun, which i didn't do last week but will do this week for 2 sessions..so will stick one extra fitness in on that day)

Iron, any chance you could move the team training around a bit?

Currently I get very little benefit from Monday's training as I'm away every week...

Same for Thursday as I need fitness by then...

Would be nice if you can move Monday and Thursday to Sat and Sun, then I would get the most benefit from the training (without reducing anyone elses?).

sunday should be fitness after the game (so that you get fitness over 90 for full benifit or taining)

you should still get training while your away on duty

i will be changing the training on thursday when we should have had the wed/thursday for 2 weeks

a good training day today

The player Steve Bradley has raised to 1 on the Speed skill
The player Cornel Vais has raised to 2 on the Heading skill
The player Maksymilian Maciejkowski has raised to 7 on the Speed skill
The player Trent Taylor has raised to 10 on the Speed skill
The player David Regan has raised to 1 on the Speed skill

I don't play on saturday, so sunday shouldn't be fitness for me... something useful will be nice.

I only get individual training and not team training when away with the NT, so having something in the team training that I don't need to train would benefit me...

I do play weds so something I don't want on thursday would benefit me too!

tackling is important for defenders and midfielders and as all our defence and alot of the modfield play international tackling cant be a tuesdays

if you play your international on not getting tired then tuesday training isnt too much of a problem

I'm a bit confused... we have 4 human strikers + 1 bot, so how do we not have enough players for me to play only 1 half (or only 1 minute if someone wants a full game)?

Agreed we need more players... wouldn't you be better off playing a bot in your space rather than playing too many matches?

Title: Re: http://www.footstar.org/

sorry, too many beers celebrating the lads crushing 2-0 win over Brum.

What I meant was, if we are going to be overmatched in friendlies perhaps best to play all bots as the XP gain can't possibly be worth the fitness and morale hit. Right, I'll just sort the language above out and then we can move on...

I'm sure you know what I'm thinking... ;)

I'd certainly be willing to take a pay cut to not play friendlies (at least for a while!)... I'm only saving for a personal trainer anyway!

Looking long term the more we can train the better we will be, losing 5 training slots for no real gain just seems like a silly idea to me :dontask:

Title: Re: http://www.footstar.org/

Don't sign anyone else then!!!
play Gene, the five bots and ten of the younger squad playing 45 mins each (that's about 5-6% fitness each on avoid) and pick opponents we can beat! That's the wages for the u18s sorted!

Sorry for all the exclamation marks but we ain't gonna win the league this season so why splash out more in wages on poxy friendlies when all the youngsters can either play internationals or, in mine and Regan's case, on a Saturday.
Good idea? Bad idea?

Title: Re: http://www.footstar.org/
Post by: Ironside on January 31, 2008, 11:06:27 PM
we havent got enough 17 year olds to field a full team and some dont want to play in the friendlies

is i can get 25 players in teh squad i can get subs used aswell

were are not going to win league this year but i think we can get 3rd

and this will help keep morlae up

without friendlies some of the players would only have international games

friendly brought in 19k last week so if i have 15 kids on 1k a week we have 4k profit from playing those games

Iron - 92% training isn't optimal until you have mid level skills. Until then 82% is better.

As we can only use 3 subs is it possible to leave those who definitely won't play at home for away league matches? Would be a small gain, but they add up over time!

How do I not get selected for the national side anymore? This travelling away with th national side means I don't get as much out of team training as I should

National Teams - Player Options.

I just sent a friendly message to the manager though, and he knows not to pick me.

Happy just to train this week. Want two pops in Game Vision.
Still want to play when the opposition aren't Hibs or Celtic.
And get that Bloody Brazillian of ours to train Stamina! What's the point of being world class for ten minutes!!!

We'd be better off training it sooner as then we lose less from matches and so get a free boost to our eff.

Title: Re: http://www.footstar.org/
Post by: divaflava on February 28, 2008, 01:03:28 PM
suggest stick with plan for next two rotations then go with stamina until we reach 7 then speed until 7, then restart skill rotation.

Title: Re: http://www.footstar.org/
Post by: Bongo on February 28, 2008, 01:06:59 PM
Given we need to reach stamina 7 anyway, wouldn't you say we're better off training to that first so that we lose less fitness from games from then on?

Have you found the team forum newbie thread? That'll help.

Basically,

set your training - match team training, with one fitness session every other day.
set your match orders (remember you are an AM)
send friend requests to your teammates.
Once they've accepted, go to player > relationships > players and set your interaction percentages.
(then, you gradually become friends, team spirit goes up and we play better).

Post on the forum about stuff!

Bongo is too lazy and was meant to be sorting a move to wales for a season to get some experience. I was meant to do that 3 weeks ago and have yet to message any of the welsh managers  ;ashamed;

Title: Re: http://www.footstar.org/

well, what about being my assistant manager?

oops, gotta go and oick up the missus from the station. Laters.

Right, I'm back! C'mon, you can train Chipleader to be the next Paul Gascoigne!

I'll get you some playing time, so you'll get experience soon enough and play first team football once the loan guys go back. Dan Owen'll be going early next season.  Get with the blonde team Bongo!!!

sorry mate...ballbusters offered me 3 times more than any other offer I had....Ive also not logged into footstar for ages (until yesterday) and notice loads of changes. Will have a look this weekend to see if I can be bothered sticking with it.

Title: Re: http://www.footstar.org/

well, I kept the 2 shirt free for you and the 7 shirt free for Bongo, who I want as my assistant-manager. Bongo apparently won't leave Ballbusters - or tell me why.
If you don't fancy England, fair enough, I should have put an offer in a day earlier!

I'm disappointed tho' and a bit pissed off at Bongo, for not bothering to reply to my offer.

I told you I was trying to get a move to Wales, as I told the U19 manager I would do that and play U19 games for him, before you left.

Although now it seems I'm over 19 and the U21 manager wants me to play :P

I was about to message PR and ask for a release actually...

Title: Re: http://www.footstar.org/

Right, message sent to U21 boss saying I'll play important games only and to PR saying I want a release to join whatever your team is called.

Just don't tell tighty it only took me 3 emails to do it otherwise I'll be in for a right bollocking the next time he sends me 10  ;hide;

the gaffer of ball busters would like to say hands off the star player.. if losin all these player the gaffer would consider resignation due unfair rules of taggin players...

Yeah, I'd seen that- I've told him to stop being paranoid!
Seems like I should've got stroppier earlier! Anyway, great news that you'll join.
Do you just want to be a player, or are you up for being player-coach, handling the team training schedule.
The only thing I insist on is that there is one day of finishing, one day of tackling and five days of one other skill every week.
My plan was to start with speed, then stamina, then poistioning, then technique, then game vision - as I think it's important that the new guys get a few skills in each of those first.  After that, I'm open to suggestions/happy to hand it over to you.

Now, where are the blackmail pictures of Charles Permain and the ladyboy ;-)

FFS, what a spiteful tw@t. I got 62k in revenue for the last game so I guess  we can just about afford it.

First, I'll ask him nicely to do the decent thing and release you!
Never know, he might realise he's out of order.

Title: Re: http://www.footstar.org/

I was going to point out £5k was fairer, as that would cover the wages he's paid so he wouldn't be out of pocket.

I'll leave it in your hands... all this hassle over a game!

young Mr Pearmain seems to be improving nicely from the look of things.

I will have to up the stamina though as, now that I'm playing regularly, I tire out more easily...so stamina for the next month or so :)

should also have enough cash next week to get a "good" Private trainer (or whatever the next level up from passable is)
