Post by: Slick Kid on January 03, 2008, 09:54:56 AM Just arrived at East Midlands Airport and we are having a quick coffee before boarding. All of us are booked to play the 300euro satallite in the Eglinton Hotel tonight. So a cheap seat would be nice as the Euro is stinking value at the minute.

No bad beat stories though McCool! I've been reading way too many in your blog recently. Post by: Slick Kid on January 03, 2008, 05:13:01 PM FFS u piranha don't want much, l feel under pressure now with my wee diary/update.
We have arrived at the Radisson which is a lovely modern hotel with everything u need, l kid u not! Thinking it would be a lovely trip to the seaside for a little bit of poker, l am slightly concerned by the people l have seen in the lobby of the Radisson, nevermind the local Subway (sarny joint), banks and general town centre. It seems that more have come than anticipated and l will give u lists and try for a few photos in a later post. Suffice to say l wish l had the camera earlier when we walked by the local bookies seeing Jesse May and Mad Marty shouting home a dog at Romford. I think Jon (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=220) Kalmar (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=220) was lurking around there too! With them two around there it wasn't long till we found Padraig in the lobby bar having a quiet one. Jesse told me that the Omaha game last night had 20k on the felt, and that was with no one here yet! I think we might have an interesting few days coming up, God Bless Us! P.S If l take photos , do l just load them up ordinarily from my collection? Cheers Mick Title: Re: Irish Poker Championships 2008, Radisson Hotel, Galway. Title: Re: Irish Poker Championships 2008, Radisson Hotel, Galway. Post by: Slick Kid on January 04, 2008, 11:08:26 PM OK guys and girls we are on the dinner break having lost 36 players of which l think John (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=215) Kabbaj (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=215) was the first. I believe there was around 292 runners but will confirm later. I struggled early through my own loose play but have managed to get up to around average on 12,600. There are some chip counts below and pictures are on the blog. Sry its short but l want to relax for 20 mins.
One hand l caught at the break was between English men, Kevin (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=235) O'Leary (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=235) and Adam Lawler. Kevin had raised in UTG+2 and Adam repoped it. Kevin called and with 2,625 in the middle the Englanders seen a Th 2d 9d flop. Kevin checked it and a short stacked Adam pushed his last 3,900. Kevin thought long and hard, but folded at which point Adam turned over Kc Kh. Title: Re: Irish Poker Championships 2008, Radisson Hotel, Galway. Post by: Slick Kid on January 05, 2008, 01:27:06 PM Hi all, well lots to say but unfortunately not enough time to say it! Got an interview from Captain Franklin for u all which is funny to say the least. Just a nit bit for u, he lives right on the coast where Hurricane Katrina hit and in his local casino he had $400,000 in a deposit box which was washed out to sea, he has a legal case against them at the minute.
Last night l finished on average with about 130 left, plenty of the usual suspects in, some chipcouts will be put up when l get them. Rory (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=730) Liffey (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=730) took out Lovejoy when a miracle card hit apparently and l took Roy Brindleys last 4k to knock him out with 20mins to go. The hand that crippled him is below and some pictures of it are on the blog. Roy raises UTG to 1200 and an old guy calls and RoryLiffey calls, everyone else folds. Flop Tc 5d 3c , Roy CHECKS, Old Guy bets 3k and Rory quickly calls. Roy moves ALL IN for an extra 12,400 and the Old Guy calls. Rory thinks and thinks eventually passing claiming he had Jd Js. Roy turns over Ac 8c and the Old Guy has Ahrt Th. Turn brings 3s River is 8s and Roy is left with 4,100 after a count. A few chip counts with about 30mins to go last night. Mike SEXTON 36K Tom Franklin 35k Mick Muldoon 23k Title: Re: Irish Poker Championships 2008, Radisson Hotel, Galway. Post by: Micko on January 05, 2008, 01:31:33 PM Mick if u could post a list of whos left and chip counts be great i no its a long shot!!

Title: Re: Irish Poker Championships 2008, Radisson Hotel, Galway. Post by: Slick Kid on January 06, 2008, 05:18:11 AM I am terribly sry guys and gals but lm knackered and will do a proper report as soon as l can. We are finished for the day and with 18 left, Rob Garfield and myself will return tomorrow with Rob one of the CHIP LEADERS. Jeff Buffenbarger was knocked out late on before the bubble and l was down to 23,500 myself 1hr before we finished whilst trying to gamble for chips. As it turned out Collette Murphy pushed all in for 65k with Kd Ts and l called with 5c 6c as l was hoping for that sort of hand. The Flop came 5h 6h Qc , the turn was the Ac and then the dreaded river brought the Jd. ;grr;
Lots of people will question WHY l made the call and the answer is very short and simple, I AM HERE TO WIN! The ONE thing about today for me was Bracelet Winner Ciaran O'Leary, he is simply DIFFERENT GRAVY, as l will tell u about later. I played a TV table today for the first time and that was fun. It will be interesting to hear Jesse May and Padraig's commentary of my play when this is broadcast. Ok folks, l'm off to bed as l have just read the Updates from MECCA (No not the Bahammmmmaaas, my LOCAL, Dusk Till Dawn ;tightend;) It sounded like a fantastic game in which l'm sure there was some great/interesting poker and l am sad l missed it. Well done Tracey and Richard, short, sweet and to the point but lay of oul Ironside for Jesus sake. P.S I have done two interviews for u all, Tom Franklin and Ciaran O'Leary. Post by: Slick Kid on January 08, 2008, 04:22:34 PM Once again many thanks, just getting over a throat infection at the minute so in bed mostly. I have just started my Tournament Report for you all and l will let you know when it is done. I also managed to interview Bracelet Winner, Irishman Ciaran O'Leary who was the first person l have played with, that l dont want to play again too soon.
Don't think winning the dough will change much for me. Square a few debts, another laptop, maybe a new dog and cushion my learning of Dealers Choice! I will still be playing the £50 at dusk till (http://www.dtdpoker.com/aff/BlonditesDownload) dawn (http://www.dtdpoker.com/aff/BlonditesDownload) on Thursday, as a matter of fact l've already bought in, online. Cheers Mick Title: Re: Irish Poker Championships 2008, Radisson Hotel, Galway.
