Last night we had the Media tournament featuring top names like Tom (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1138) McEvoy (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1138), Barry (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=478) Greenstein (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=478) and Snoops. I managed to bluff half my stack off early doors, with A-J on a Q-T-8-3-Q board against T-9, before Meanwhile, I have a slight bizarre phone situation to discuss. A good friend of mine sent me a happy new year etc... type message a couple of days ago before we left for the Bahamas, which I ended up receiving twice. "No matter," says I, "For surely it's simply a case of someone accidentally sending a text more than the once." However, two days later and I've now received the same text message roughly 25 more times, so I decided to text her and ask if there was something wrong with her phone. She sent me a reply saying that she didn't think so and that this hadn't happened with any of her other friends... Of course, I've now also received this message about ten times more too. But enough of my mobile-based shenanigans. My watch reads 11.31 am, so the Robin Hood of Poker is robbing me of my time. ;D I think he may be forgiven, however, as word on the poker grapevine is that he gives a great interview. Much like Greg (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=561) Raymer (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=561), throw one question at him and he'll run with it. Certainly makes the interviewer's job a lot easier. It's now 11.32, and I'm a bit worried. I won a big pot off him in the media comp last night when I whisked up that big blind of his, I just hope he hasn't taken it to heart, we all lose to the Beagle at some point in our poker lives.
Meanwhile, why not check out these snaps of The Atlantis Resort and its surrounding area. I suddenly realised this morning that we've been updating for two days now and are yet to publish any photographs. As I said in my blog, I'm not overly impressed with the Atlantis Resort as it feels like a Bahamian themed hotel rather than a hotel in the Bahamas meaning that we might as well be in Vegas. Outside the interior confines, the architecture is horribly gaudy with pink, yellow and green the chosen colours. It just feels a bit Disney for my liking with the corporate world oozing out of every pore. However, I am reserving judgment for the time being as we've yet to leave this area and venture into places like Nassau which I'm sure will be more intriguing and much more representative of the true Bahamas. To get a flavour of the real world without going into Nassau go down to the ferry area at the other end of the resort - past the outside mall with the Tommy Bahamas shops/very big yachts. There the locals sell fruit etc. For fun get the ferry over from there to the town - the commentary can be entertaining and it's just nice to get out on the water.

I didn't catch the action on the 3c 8d 7s Flop, but on the 3s Turn, Johan bet out 26k and Julio, rather more reluctant than before, made the call. A 6c River, and Johan bet out for the second consecutive street, this time making it 30k to play. Ad Ts 7d The blind led out for 5k and Nic didn't give him credit for an ace and decided to flat-call and look to take away the pot later.
